ABSOLUTELY AVOID: Terrible Massage, Forced Tipping, and Highly Unprofessional Behavior…read more I am an experienced consumer of massage services and have never encountered such an appalling level of unprofessionalism. I strongly advise everyone to avoid this establishment. I scheduled a 60-minute massage and signage indicated the price was $70 if I pay cash. Upon entering the room, I asked if I should undress. The therapist spoke absolutely no English and there were no signs indicating what is customary or expected. Communication was impossible and nonexistent. It was also oddly silent, there was no music during the massage. Invasion of Privacy: While I was still in process of getting undressed, the therapist barged into the room and left the door wide open. I was fully naked and exposed. During the massage, the sheet she provided to go over me was the size of a pillowcase, or smaller. It did not adequately cover me and left my private parts exposed. Periodically during the massage, my therapist would stop treatment, open the door, and leave the room to greet a walk-in client, or yell back and forth with someone else who was in the building. I had my head opposite the door and could not tell when the door was open or closed, so I felt extremely exposed to anyone walking down the hall and had to try and adjust the tiny sheet provided for cover. Inappropriate Behavior: At the end of the massage, the therapist kissed my hands. She left so that I could dress, but entered the room again while I was still naked and dressing. She would not leave although I was still naked, and she very inappropriately wanted to "help" me get dressed. Subpar Massage: The massage itself was poor. The paper towel used on the face rest was scratchy on my face skin. The masseuse used an excessive amount of oil, and was actively pushing the massage table around the too-small room while I was on it--a jarring and unprofessional experience that ruined any chance of relaxation. The masseuse was not discreet with how the small sheet was used, she did not cover my private parts appropriately while she worked on different areas of my body. There were some very uncomfortable techniques used where she tried to pull my head up to arch my back. She did not seem to know what she was doing. Forced Tipping: The situation escalated dramatically after I paid $70 cash for the service, crossing the line from poor customer service into outright hostility--the masseuse immediately began demanding, "tip, tip, tip". I offered a $4 tip for the poor service received. The masseuse instantly confronted me, keeping her hand out and demanding more tip. A mandatory tip is bizarre, unethical, and something I have never heard of. This encounter was one of the most unprofessional massage experiences I have ever had. The lack of a properly-sized sheet, exposing my naked body by not covering my private parts and opening the door to my room during service, immodest behavior while undressing and dressing, delivering a poor service, and demanding an arbitrary "minimum tip," is unacceptable. The owner needs to be aware that their staff is openly insulting and aggressively alienating customers. AVOID at all costs.

The worst massage I have ever had. First off before she even started the massage she asked for me…read moreto pay before. (Which should have been a red flag). I refused said I'll pay after the massage is done. Then she got started she over focused on my right shoulder, She rubbed super hard down my spine, I finally asked her to do my legs. As I asked if she was going full body? She left 3 separate times during my "60" minute massage to answer the front door due to customers coming in., which wasn't the problem, the problem was she left the door wide open and had me pretty exposed, I'm now in incredible pain after everything. Typically I have had a soreness after a good massage, but nothing beats the kind of pain I'm in. Do not waste your money...have no clue why there is a single good review on here..

I don't understand why this place is not more busy. $30 for a really good massage . I've been a few…read moretimes but the most recent experience made me want to come and give a good review. I had a splitting headache and neck ache from working at a computer all week and told the masseur before i lay down. He focused on that area and it was a transformation! I felt like he was very much in tune to where I needed the most attention. I occasionally go to the fancy spas in SB but I think the real talented masseurs work here! Be prepared to be asked if you want an extra 20 mins etc as they always ask near the end. Highly recommend.

I was talking to a friend of my experience here and went to look at the yelp review I left in 2022…read moreI see it was taken down! So glad they take assault seriously here! I made an appointment with a request for a woman masseuse. Mind you this was after my good friend suddenly died, my grandpa died and my childhood animal died with a week of my 21st birthday immediately leading up into 4 midterms at UCSB. I decided to treat myself to a massage as I needed groceries from Trader Joe's. A male checked me in, he looked and acted as if he owned the establishment. He lead me to the room and gave me the space to undress (mind you with any massage to how you are comfortable) which to me meant a sports bra and underwear, and covered myself face down with a towel covering myself. To my surprise he walked in to give me my massage. Like someone else who reviewed, I was a naive non confrontational young woman who just went through a highly traumatic few weeks. God forbid I trust a masseuse to do their job appropriately and not take advantage of me even though I had a bad feeling about it. The massage started normal at first and then he asked me to remove my bra as it was "getting in the way" then I noticed soemthing firm pressing against me. Yes. That's exactly what you think. And he was massaging my shoulders going way too close to the breast region, presumably looking at my behind, I felt a for lack of better words half chub rubbing against my head. I truely didn't know what to do. I've been assaulted before and in therapy for it and my automatic response is freeze unfortunately. He tried to extend the massage and I said no and quickly dressed, paid, left no tip, and immediately called bbb which was closed. Sent an email or a tip or whatever you can do (it was 4 years ago give me a break with the details) and left a lengthy yelp review which apparently has been taken down! I don't know how that is acceptable to take down a review of this nature. People should be aware and based off what I read this isn't the first instant of inappropriate behavior. I am so appalled looking back now and need to repost. This is insane behavior and so inappropriate of a 50 something year old to a barely legal young woman. Shame of this establishment and shame on yelp.

Then she had the audacity to demand a larger tip. She talked on the phone and left the room MULTIPLE times without adding the additional minutes to make the full 60 minute massage I paid for. If the massage had been out of the world amazing I still could not have overlooked the sketchy setup with the doorbell and the woman's dual role as a hostess and disinterested masseuse.

The whole time he would ask if the pressure was ok. First let me say I'm a hair stylist and have had back, hip, and leg pain for a very long time. I haven't seen a dr yet but I've always thought it was my sciatica. As soon as Robert started massaging my feet (reflexology) he knew right away I have lower back, hip, and sciatica pain, and told me my back was very bad. I've never had a massage therapist be able to know where my pain is by massaging my feet and feeling the bumps in them where my body pain is. He asked if I wanted to pay for longer time so he could work on my pain and I did. He worked the deep tissue and knew exactly where to massage to get the knots and pain out. It wasn't a relaxing massage but that's not what I needed. I went in there because I could barely walk from all the pain I was in and needed a deep tissue massage, and needed to get through the pain before I could feel relief. I walked out of there feeling so much better. I woke up today with no pain at all and usually I wake up feeling so stiff and it's hard to get out of bed but today I was able to get right up. I'm definitely going back and asking for Robert. Thank you Robert, this is the first time in a long time that I actually have hope my back will get better

Some women have mentioned that he was unprofessional about draping the blanket or exposing certain private parts. Well in my opinion Jesse was very professional, and I did notice he really took time to tuck in the sheet to NOT expose any of my private areas. As far as the massage pressure I told him I can tolerate firm pressure, so if you get a massage and feel that the masseuse is pressing too hard, common sense, tell them as they're doing it. All and all, outstanding massage from Jesse. I would highly recommend

Came in for a 1hr deep tissue couples massage to celebrate my birthday and left feeling really…read moredisappointed which sucks because we booked here due to the rave reviews. My boyfriend asked for medium pressure, I asked for strong. I had to ask 2 more times during the massage for the woman to go stronger and I also let her know the muscles in my neck and shoulders were very tight and needed more pressure. Despite this, she didn't adjust pressure at all until the last 5 minutes of the massage and did not do any deep tissue work on my neck or shoulders. Because she only did deep tissue on two or three random parts of my body for maybe less than 10 minutes total of the whole massage, I now have something pinched in my lower back that I did not come in with. My boyfriend felt his massage was extremely light except for when his back got walked on, which resulted in him also leaving with back pain because of how rushed she was with her approach. There was also another employee yelling during the beginning of our massage as well and the music kept turning off so one of the ladies had to go out several times to tell them to stop and to turn the music back on. Overall it was a huge bummer, especially for the price of $285. It felt like we paid a lot of money to leave feeling worse than we walked in. We won't be coming back.
