This place was unexpectedly good. It's a big place with a lot of beds and chairs. The staff is very professional and they have timers on their computers and you get whoever is available at the time. My husband and I came in here at the last minute for an impromptu massage and the prices were unbeatable. They take credit card and it's only $49 for a body massage for 60 minutes. You leave your clothes on and the massage is deep tissue and acupressure. It took out my knots and relaxed me for the rest of my vacation at Santa Barbara. . What a nice treat. Love this place. The massages are great. I always get a full body massage for 60 minutes. I go often and Tip them well because it is so affordable. I have gotten many massages in my life and this was my first one that was walk in/fully clothed. I had low expectations due to the nature of the studio, but it was one of the best massages I have ever had and easily half the price of a traditional massage. So good that I went back the next day for another! I would recommend stopping by when you have time shopping on State, but don't plan a day around it. I highly recommend coming here if you are in the area - the massages are great and the prices are unbeatable. My Mom and I went here for quick 1-hour massages and we came out very relaxed after a day of walking and shopping around Downtown Santa Barbara. It is unlike other reflexology places in that: 1) You get a semi private space where you can't see other people nearby (you are still fully clothed though). Imagine a massage bed in a stall of its own - that's the space you get; 2) You are laying flat the whole time, on both your front and your back, but trust that they still get all of the areas and pressure points they need to, and the massage style is still the same - deep tissue and as much or as little pressure as you need. They do a great job of checking in with you throughout the massage to ensure they are getting everything you need. If you can, I recommend requesting a 2-hour session if you can. That was my only regret - not getting a longer session, haha. We were able to walk in and get situated with people right away, but I suggest calling in ahead of time to make sure someone will be free when you arrive. So I've been saying I want to go to a chiropractor or get some kind of massage recently bc man has my back been aching. I looked at this other place (LRFS), but they all seemed to have mediocre reviews and Relaxing Station seemed to have more positive than negative reviews so my mom and I went here on a whim. She got the foot massage while I got the combo (body and foot). They had this paper where u circle what u want and it had intensity levels from 1-6. Since it was my first time I didn't circle anything for intensity level, but my guy came up to me and circled 4-5 for me. So I was like alright here we go! I was ready. It was pretty painful I won't deny. He stretched and pulled me out- pretty sure he shoved my organs around and also my bones DID crack too lol. It hurt but there was pleasure in the pain! My body felt SO rejuvenated and my mom felt the same about her feet. She had the 40 minute massage which she thought beforehand would be too long, but after she said she could sit there all day. We're definitely going back and hopefully next time will be just as awesome. Honestly these people worked super hard and even worked up a sweat trying so hard to push the muscles...we tipped them well. They don't speak much English but their efforts were so good. I wore my mask and kept it on face down and the employees did so too. It was a pleasant environment. read more

Update - we went yesterday for a foot massage (me) and a body massage (my husband). Exceptionally good massages on both accounts. My foot massage was phenomenal and just what I needed after recently upping my weekly running mileage. My husband raved about how much better his back and shoulders felt as well. The masseuses work hard and don't do any weird fluffy or annoying stuff like toe-flicking or overly repetitive strokes. The foot massage chairs are extremely comfortable; they give complimentary bottles of water as well. Yeah, it's not a upscale or remotely fancy place, but for the price and quality (at least at this visit; my first was so-so) it is outstanding. Language barriers might be a little bit of an issue, but they seem like seasoned-enough masseuses that they can still easily find areas of tension and therapeutic pressure points. read more

Had 2 massages here taking advantage of the $39 hourly rate. Experience with Jack = Very good 4.5 Stars. With Lily = lousy! 0 Stars. This is a basic "open air" massage shop with limited privacy and atmosphere. But the price, at $39 per hour will have you coming often for the right massage. Jack was the right massage. Jack hit all my "spots" and really worked my legs after I told him about my sore calves and thighs. Left him a $20 tip for one hour massage as he was excellent and made good communication efforts despite limited English. Lilly, whose English was "better" didn't really massage but rather "beat" me, despite my telling her not to. She also tried to overcharge me by about $20 for my 90 minute massage. She apparently doesn't know how to "work" muscles and trigger points. Too bad as Jack was great, but Lilly just rude and a bit abusive. read more

It is common practice to tip more than 20% in the service industry if the service was good. I got a 30 minute foot massage and a 30 minute chair massage for only $49 plus a very good tip ($25) and I still consider that a bargain. Regarding the street noise on a Thurs/Fri/Sat evening after 5 pm, just request a chair (massage station) that is not in the front area near the entrance. Great spot for an inexpensive massage! Everything is out in the open so it doesn't feel sketchy at all. I would give it 5 stars for the ease of access (walk ins only) and affordability (all $36 and under) however I dock one star bc it is pretty inconsistent as far as how the massage goes. I almost always circle a 4 for intensity and sometimes it is super light and other times I walk away feeling like I'm going to be black and blue the next day, ha! I'd recommend going for a lower number than you think you want and then asking for more instead of being in pain and needing to say ouch less less haha! Overall I clearly keep coming back and really love this place, the inconsistency just points to the fact that you get what you pay for here. If you're looking for a super expert masseuse it's probably not here but if you're looking a good long massage that won't break the bank you've found your place. read more
