My boyfriend asked for medium pressure, I asked for strong. I had to ask 2 more times during the massage for the woman to go stronger and I also let her know the muscles in my neck and shoulders were very tight and needed more pressure. Despite this, she didn't adjust pressure at all until the last 5 minutes of the massage and did not do any deep tissue work on my neck or shoulders. Because she only did deep tissue on two or three random parts of my body for maybe less than 10 minutes total of the whole massage, I now have something pinched in my lower back that I did not come in with. My boyfriend felt his massage was extremely light except for when his back got walked on, which resulted in him also leaving with back pain because of how rushed she was with her approach. There was also another employee yelling during the beginning of our massage as well and the music kept turning off so one of the ladies had to go out several times to tell them to stop and to turn the music back on. Overall it was a huge bummer, especially for the price of $285. It felt like we paid a lot of money to leave feeling worse than we walked in. We won't be coming back.

He seemed to know exactly what my body needed before I did, and I left feeling restored in a way that was physical and something much deeper at the same time. Truly the best of the best. I am so grateful to this whole team for the care, the presence, and the peace they created. I will absolutely be back, and if you are anywhere near Santa Barbara, do yourself the favor. I felt very uncomfortable the unnatural angle she was moving my arms into, and even though I have never had knee issues like most people my age, I was very uncomfortable with her patella manipulation ( no muscles there so should not be pushing bones around!!) and my knees do not feel good today. It was actually impressive the amount of tensions spots missed. Asked for no oil, got completely covered in oil. Masseuse seemed like she barely knew what she was doing. After spending 20 min in the bathroom rubbing oil off my body, I somehow left with more knots than I came with. Shame because the space is so beautiful and nice, as well as staff.
