This is where I come get fresh bakery items - conchas, cuernitos, mantecadas, etc. Each day they have fresh coffee (cafe con canela is my favorite), champurrado, and fresh juices to order. I've also tried their tamales - must say they are flavorful, my favorita was tamal de rajas. Their little store also offers mexican goodies (baking goods, tea's, gelatin, etc.). And you can also place orders for cakes & other baked items. Each time i've gone, their staff is friendly and attentive. read more

Delicious mexican sweet bread! Cute little shop with all your mexican needs and even food. We came in to buy some mexican sweet bread to have with coffee. They also sell a lot of mexican products as well and tres leches cakes and jello. They expanded the store and they also sell tamales, tortas and some other foods have not tried those yet but will have to come back for those. Prices are ok it is more than I remember for sweet bread but everything has gone up with the pandemic. Will definitely be back soon to try some other things they sell. read more

The store needs better customer service the employees are not friendly to customers im not going their anymore

I've been in the Little Maya Bakery, store, because I'm a Mexican Individual, and I love products from Mexico. So I thought it was a good idea to go to that store, but BIG mistake, I do think the products are good and tasty, but the people who work there to serve the customers, are terrible, very rude and unprofessional. However, I will speak for myself. I am a disabled person, I can't walk, and I can't talk, I can say a couple of words and moan, only. I use a motorized wheelchair to move around. I also, live in a nursing home. I went there to get some bread, Mexican bread, and candy, but I couldn't get anything because nobody helped me out. I tried to call the staff's attention, but they did not pay attention to me, they just laughed and whispered at each other, people, customers, came in and out of the store, bought their items, and leave. I thought now the vendor, after helping this customer, she's going to help me, wrong! She left me hanging when she finished. I kept trying, finally, someone approached me and asked if I needed help. I was trying to answer and said, yes, okay, what do you want, she said, very upset and unhappy, I just laugh at myself and turned around my wheelchair and came back home. I was very disappointed, they shouldn't be employees there. They are working with long faces, unhappy like their boss is holding a gun behind their heads. It is unfortunate! The store is very challenging to navigate. Inside is so difficult to get from spot to spot, feels like everything is going to fall down on your head. read more

La Mixteca bakery is a mix of cake maker, coffee shop, and panadaria. pastries looked huge. missing were the chocolate varietals and the creme filled/infused ones. eats: 3 various shapes of pastries (2.5) -not as fresh as some paadarias. some a day old. -still tasty and a good bargain crumbs: -located in a trangular old shopping center -passing this intersection enters "mex" commercial area. read more

I'm pretty sure that they are going by the name little Maya bakery as we discovered when my soon to be husband and myself went looking for this place to sample the tres leches for our wedding. Originally we were going to bring up a cake from a local bakery in Pacifica but were not excited about driving it up. One of the best services with this establishment is the free local delivery! We had a little difficulty with communication in follow up. I think we connected with someone from the other shop who seemed to have no record or our order so that was frustrating. In the end they delivered what we wanted based on our wedding colors and designs. The cake was tasty, we had a middle layer or chocolate moose and strawberries. This is a 5 star bakery, and the value and service is off the charts! Javier is the owner and personally takes care of things. My wife and I had our wedding cake done, and it was SOOOOOOOO incredibly delicious, not to mention HALF the price of the fancy overpriced competitors! We just celebrated our one year anniversary, and we took the frozen top of the cake and ate it, and it was just about completely as good as the first day! STILL, after one whole year frozen, mouth watering and soft and delicious! I cannot say enough good things about Javier and his dedication to quality and customer service. I will ALWAYS be going back for any baking cake type needs I may have, and I HIGHLY recommend you checking it out if you want the highest quality at a more than reasonable price. We just discovered this place. I have been stopping in about once a week to pick up some cookies for family and friends. The staff is always friendly and helpful and the cookies are always eaten up with in a few days of me bringing them home. I can't eat sugar or wheat so I can't tell you what they taste like, but everyone else here can and they like them. Today I put 6 torpedo shaped rolls on the tray next to the giant cookies and will make some sandwiches with them tomorrow. I am so glad I found this place. Apparently it has been here for years and I just recently discovered it. Silly me! read more

La mixteca made our wedding cake for a great price and delivered it. It was definitely not best cake I've ever had but the price was right. It was also a really nice looking cake and served its purpose well. The communication leading up to the day was hard. If you are looking for a cheap wedding cake that is not going to be your primary desert, this is the place to go! read more

Another fine example of a businesses drivers not caring about the community. La Mixteca has several Locations, the nearest in on Highway 12 in Sonoma. This morning like do many other mornings, their driver ( White Van) failed to stop at the Stop Sign at Verano and Lomita, (might have been the fact he was looking down at his Phone). Several calls have been made in the past to the owners and store, when waving down the drivers to slow down, their response in either a Finger or speeding up, pushing to the nearest Stop Sign then gunning the Van. I'm wondering what we have to do to keep our neighborhoods safe? The next time we'll call the CHP again and be ignored. read more

I feel terrible about writing a bad review of this bakery, so I must explain what my disappointment is about. I have ordered specialty cakes from them before, so this was probably my fourth time ordering a cake from them.. Every other experience has been great, and the presentation and flavor has always met my expectations. Earlier this week I went I into the bakery and ordered a customized birthday cake for a very small gathering. I told them it was for a max of 10 people. They suggested the 1/4 sheet cake, which was fine. I ordered the cake, sent them a text of a photo I wanted to use, and that all went smoothly. When I picked up the cake yesterday, I discovered they had made a 1/2 sheet instead. Considering the cake was about 4" thick, this would serve a whole lot of people. I did not want a cake this big, nor did I order a cake this big. This was not my mistake, but they wanted me to pay for their mistake, which was considerably more. I told them this wasn't right and that I should not be penalized for their mistake. When the lady wouldn't budge, I told her I would just pick up a cake somewhere else, that I really didn't need a cake that big anyway. I felt sorry for her, as the owner was the one she called who said to charge me full price. She started to negotiate with me, coming down on the price $5 each time. I have an intense dislike for the negotiating process, so I did not appreciate having to play this game. I ultimately ended up buying the cake for more than what I was quoted, but less than the price of a 1/2 sheet cake. It was good, but I won't ever go back. I don't want to do business like this. read more

Yum! I love sweets! This place offers traditional Mexican pastries as well as the classic eclairs and chocolate chip cookies. I love how recently they added a little Mexican market, it is a great place to pick up tortillas and salsa. This place is such a quaint family run operation and the owner is so nice to me every time I come in. For our groom's cake for our wedding we ordered a Tres Leches cake from La Mixteca. As many of you know, Tres Leches can often be too sweet are too wet. This cake was just absolutely perfect. It tasted exactly how Tres Leches should taste. I only took one star off because the color green they used to decorate this cake was obviously a mistake..I can't imagine anyone purposely using a yellowish brownish green to decorate a cake. I think they must have had a hard time getting the exact color and probably due to time they just used what they had. Fortunately, the taste of the cake far outweighed the decor and I think we all gained 10 pounds because we couldn't stop eating it! read more

I order a birthday cake(tres leches) and I really liked the decoration. The cake was an image tres leches cake an it just looked presentable when it came to taking photographs. The only reason I gave it a 3star was because the taste was not what we expected. The cake had a very very salty taste. It was a little embarrassing when guests started eating the cake and commenting about its salty taste. They should pay a little more attention to that. Other then that cake was good. read more

pastries are okay nothing like the ones we buy in the city,Mexican wedding cookies were severely over cooked very hard and there was no way they would be considered to be the cookie they are suppose to be. their prices are better than other bakeries but the quality isn't there. read more
