Shimmer Pool and Spa Service - Algae treatment

Shimmer Pool and Spa Service

(9 reviews)

Shimmer Pool & Spa Service Napa, CA…read more(707) 256-9971 https://shimmerpoolandspa.net/ This five-star review illustrates why it's worth investing in expertise. Roger Mejia's Shimmer Pool & Spa Service offers science-based water chemistry analysis, expert service, and fair pricing. They have the knowledge and experience to handle pool and spa issues precisely and effectively, providing superb results and the highest level of customer satisfaction. Let me demonstrate this with our experience. Our pool was a swamp. Due to illness, we were unable to maintain chemistry levels, and the pool became duck-pond green, teeming with algae. We were doubtful that the problem could be remedied. We contacted our former pool company, with whom we were customers for 40+ years, and they kept putting us off for over a month, promising to come the next day and never showing up or communicating. We looked for another service and found that Shimmer was highly recommended by real people (not chatbots) on our local neighborhood social media. We called Roger Mejia, and he came the next day to analyze the situation. He used a high-tech computer water analysis device, which gave precise data on our pool's water chemistry. This expensive device is reviewed as the "future of water chemistry management." Roger explained that his scientific approach not only gives guidance to balance a pool's chemistry but saves time and money that might be wasted on unnecessary chemicals, treatments, and labor. He also noted that his staff are Certified Pool Technicians who attend regular training courses on state-of-the art methods and technologies for achieving perfect pool balance. We were extremely impressed by Shimmer's investments in technology and professional staff, as we have not seen such commitment by any other pool service we know. Roger analyzed the data from his mobile water lab and set a remediation plan, which he began to execute the next day. For each session, he analyzed changes in water chemistry and determined the most effective treatment. Roger is committed to excellence, and he persevered through the challenges that our nasty pool presented. He even drove to our home on the weekend to check water progress. The result is sparkling clear water, with a perfect and stable chemical balance, as verified by Roger's mobile water lab measurements. Shimmer did what they said they'd do and acted in a timely and effective manner. We were so impressed that we engaged Shimmer for weekly pool service. Again, we got far more than we expected. The excellent techs, Ricardo and Carlos, brought high-end equipment to test water chemistry, skim, brush and vacuum the pool, and add appropriate chemicals. A few minutes after completion of the service, we received an email detailing exactly what had been done, including a photo of the pool. The email identified the pool technician and included time and date of service, chemical readings, service notes detailing tasks performed, and chemicals used. Impressive. This transparency and comprehensive information illustrates the professionalism and integrity of Roger Mejia's Shimmer Pool & Spa Service. I know of no other business in this field that offers this exceptional level of performance. Throughout the pool rehabilitation process and the weekly maintenance, every Shimmer staff member we worked with was professional, courteous, and obviously experienced and talented. Their training was evident: they knew the chemistry thoroughly, performed their tasks efficiently and effectively, and communicated clearly and positively. Roger Mejia sets the tone for Shimmer. He is precise and thorough, consistently demonstrating his extensive experience, rigorous training, and dedication to excellence. It is rare to find a business so professional and so demonstrative of integrity. There's no substitute for this kind of quality. Richard B. Napa

At the beginning he was ok, but as things went on, things got more and more expensive, charging…read moremore monthly, more charges on things that were included before, less communication, and little accountability- He said he didn't have staff to service us anymore, and I had a new company come out and immediately the new guy said that there was zero conditioner in the water, so chlorine was not keeping, and also there was no float- they just continued pouring more and more chlorine and shock in- we have paid for half as many chemicals in a hotter time of year with zero problems. This guy is nice but needs more experience with pools and business in general.

I have in text from Seth saying he is not the owner and can not help me with any issues but on Yelp…read morehe clearly says that he is the owner. Folks watch out for this company. They serviced my pool on two weeks and they billed me for a month of service. The pool cleaning lady came out and did not even have experience with the equipment, cleaning person told me that my salt balance is off and asked her to are you going to adjust the the machine and she said that she does not know how to work it. I texted Seth and he said he does not all employees know how to adjust it and they all do a different job and not all have experience that is all in text. Then how are they going to keep my salt water adjusted properly. They do not send someone else to do it. Also there communication is terrible I texted Seth on few issues like some repair and replace a pump. Did not answer me till a few days after and said that he is sorry and but he is to busy and was not able to get to me. The future with this company would have been a disaster no experience for the employee with machines and equipment and bad communications. Also after two weeks not happy with service Seth says he is sticking me with the one year contract and trying to force me with 1800.00 dollars. Do not sign contract because they can give you terrible service and try to stick you with contract. He threatened me with the lawyer of suing me instead of trying to make matters better. I have all this in text by Seth. Watch out watch out for this company.

Very unreliable and disappointing service. The guy they had coming out to service barely took care…read moreof the pool. It never looked sparkling. You could tell there was no pride in the work. They ended up quitting on the spot when I confronted them how bad the service had been. I immediately took a sample of my pool water to Leslie's to get a report and it scored 0 out of 100. Absolutely no chlorine was present. I ended up taking care of the pool myself and it had never looked this good while this company was servicing it. Horrible service.

When she passed away in November, his office and I had been in contact with each other both in Marin and over the phone when I was home in Los Angeles. When my mom's credit cards got cancelled after her passing, I didn't realize he had stopped getting paid. Even though he had my mom's phone number, mine, and my boyfriend's, no one called to tell me I owed them money. Instead, they continued to send bills to her empty house and then cancelled the service in January. He knew she was sick, that I was the one paying the bills, and that I didn't live in her house or in the area. I was unaware of all of this, and had assumed they were still get automatic payments. When I arrived back in Marin mid January to take care of her affairs, I realized that not only had they stopped coming, but that the pool sweep was also missing. I immediately called and was told that they took the pool sweep because it was "broken". What was wrong with it? No one could really explain. Did they remove it to fix it and bring it back? Doubtful since they hadn't been paid for two months. Why would they fix the sweep if they weren't paid for service? Obviously they had taken the pool sweep to reimburse themselves for those two months. Pretty sure that's illegal - to remove someone's property from their house. It's called stealing. I insisted Fredy give back my pool sweep - obviously I was going to pay him once I found out they were owed. I would have done so if they had made any effort in contacting me. I had to wait an additional two weeks for him to bring it to me - I tried to call them during that time to arrange me picking it up, but no one answered the phone or called me back. Fredy himself came to the house to hand deliver it. Funny to me that he didn't even know how much I owed him. I had to tell him! Lucky for him I'm honest. He said the problem with the sweep was that the wheels were wobbly. Totally bullshit. Horrible customer service. Absolutely no follow through. Cheaper than other places I have called to replace him, but obviously, you get what you pay for. Avoid. Responding to Fredy's response. I had my mom's phone live until January. I received no messages on her phone. If anyone called, no one left a message. Granted, my mom had her phone through November and she wasn't in any position to answer it, but I checked it daily then, and also after she passed. Not sure what number you used but it wasn't hers. I can't come up with any other reason the pool sweep would have been taken if no one was paying. Or why it wasn't returned the day you guys stopped coming. Unless you were planning on keeping it.
