We hired him to build our pool based off his great reputation, no BS upfront demeanor, outstanding communication and by far the best design. He wasn't our cheapest quote (I got 6!- with a project this large we wanted to be thorough) but he did work with us on cost by taking out a few things in the original design like the landscaping which we decided we would do on our own. Some highlights of our experience: -The build went extremely fast, demo and the entire dig itself were done in 4 days! -Todd and his team went above and beyond in so many ways, taking care of a few things that they ran into that were not in the contract to do, just out of generosity, like flushing the drain pipes in the backyard, backfilling the trenches left from the excavator and even putting down some seed to help us start to repair the lawn damage. -the concrete done was great! We have a unique patio with flagstone stamping and a color which has faded quite a bit. Todd was able to do really well matching the old concrete so that it flows well with our existing patio. -Todd's Foreman and whole team are so hardworking and respectful, they left the site clean every day. -We honestly didn't have very many hiccups throughout the process, or if there were Todd and his team took care of them. -you so many times hear of contractors charging all sorts of extra things that come up throughout the process. That did not happen. We did end up running into a few things that required additional payments but they were of no fault of Todd or his team. The county required a land survey to be done after permits were approved so that was extra, and during the dig they found a very random sewage line that didn't appear to be up to code so he suggested we have a plumber come out. And it was a good thing he caught that because turned out the sewage line was filled with dirt and connected to our main line! Would have been a crappy situation had he not suggested we take care of it (pun intended). The only few things we encountered were very minor and all handled promptly- the stacked stone on a raised wall had some huge cracks, but we informed masonry and Todd and they took care of it immediately. I think the only other thing was how much space the pool equipment ended up taking up. From the 3D design it appeared much smaller in the area chosen than in real life, but that's to be expected with those programs. I dont think they can really show scale 100%. So at first I was a bit concerned, but now that it's all up and running it's very manageable and there isn't really another space all the equipment could have gone anyway. Overall we are so pleased with our pool, so thankful to Todd and his team and so ready to enjoy many memories for years to come with our family.

We could not be happier!…read more We have lived in our house over 30 years. There was a vinyl lined pool when we moved in. We have replaced the liner over the years but finding anyone to work on it has been impossible. We decided to replace it with a gunite liner. We got estimates from three companies, including elite pools. We were very impressed with Alex's knowledge and the manner in which he explained the process. Alex and the people he used were very professional and polite. We were very impressed with the way the work was done. They started with a demolition of the old liner. They then used rebar to frame in the new pool. They filled it with gunite . Alex directed us to a tile shop to select the coping and pool tile. He then brought by samples of the pebble that would be used to line the pool. They installed the tile and coping and then the pebble. Watching the process for the installation of the pebble was interesting. We had no idea what the process involved. Alex and his employees did a great job of cleaning up after they had completed each stage of the project. Alex was very easy to communicate with and kept us updated as things progressed. He even referred us to a pool company to help get the pool up and running when our normal pool service could not be reached. We felt that elite pool provided a good product for the cost. We would not hesitate to refer them to any friends or family.

The project spanned six months and included a number of subcontractors. Jeff Jones was point man for the design, permitting, color & equipment selection and landscape layout. He thoroughly explained all project steps and was called upon many times for advice. Gary Irwin was our project supervisor. He was always just a phone call away and was on-site daily. Both men left us completely at ease and are true professionals. The subcontractors selected for site prep, plumbing, gunite installation, masonry, concrete pour, "wet edge" surface coatings, carpentry (for the pergola) and electrical were first rate, high quality service contractors. We chose Hawkins to build our dream pool…read more After researching other pool companies, we chose Hawkins to build our dream pool. We did have the benefit of experiencing a Hawkings pool though a friend who was very satisfied with Hawkings, so we too entrusted Hawkings to build ours. From the design, through the construction and material choices, we relied on Hawkings for their opinions and expertise and I am so glad we did. The pool turned out awesome. We have a relatively narrow back yard, and it was slightly sloped as well so I wasn't sure what could be done design wise. Jeff designed a lap pool that tucked up nicely the backyard fence garden and retaining wall. He also designed a beautiful concrete paver patio that extends from the back of the house to the pool. The pool dimensions turn out to be 48' long by 8' wide 3.5'-4.5' deep. A perfect 1 lane lap pool. We relied on Jeff for all of the material suggestions, the Tahoe blue finish with blue tile work and dark gray auto-cover finishes the pool nicely. A major concern I had was how to get an excavator down our very narrow side yard. As it turned out, we had to temporarily remove our air conditioning unit to allow for a small 4' excavator to allow access to the back yard. Since the construction started mid September, we only had one day where we missed the A/C. It only took 3.5 days to excavate the pool using this small excavator. Gary our project manager was always available and when it came time to put in the pool equipment, we changed our minds on its location to the opposite end of our yard. Gary and team were able to rally around this change in requirement and accomplished this task without delaying the project. The rest of construction went smoothly. We were swimming by the end of January in our heated pool. Absolutely awesome. In addition to the lap pool we had a patio build that extended the entire width of the house and from the back doors all the way to the pool's edge. The team built a very smooth and tight paver patio that drains very fast when it rains. We are very pleased. I can't say enough about the professionalism of all involved with this project. I would highly recommend Hawkings Pools / Dana Lund Landscaping and all the subcontractors used who specialize in pool construction. If you want quality, then Hawkings is good value.
