Very unreliable and disappointing service. The guy they had coming out to service barely took care of the pool. It never looked sparkling. You could tell there was no pride in the work. They ended up quitting on the spot when I confronted them how bad the service had been. I immediately took a sample of my pool water to Leslie's to get a report and it scored 0 out of 100. I have been using Fredy's for pool service and maintenance since July of 2024. In that time, I have experienced missed appointments, questionable recommendations, and shoddy service. At least four scheduled visits were missed, and in two cases I was nevertheless billed, necessitating a call to the office to get everything squared away. My pool sweep was slowing down and I was told it needed a new hose. I decided to take a look and turns out it just needed a five dollar connection piece. Finally, as can be seen in the photo, important maintenance items were overlooked. My new pool service company pulled out the filters and found the nastiest muck and growth imaginable. Fredy had been taking care of my mom's pool for many years. He started dealing with me when she got sick in July of 2024. When she passed away in November, his office and I had been in contact with each other both in Marin and over the phone when I was home in Los Angeles. When my mom's credit cards got cancelled after her passing, I didn't realize he had stopped getting paid. Even though he had my mom's phone number, mine, and my boyfriend's, no one called to tell me I owed them money. Instead, they continued to send bills to her empty house and then cancelled the service in January. He knew she was sick, that I was the one paying the bills, and that I didn't live in her house or in the area. I was unaware of all of this, and had assumed they were still get automatic payments. When I arrived back in Marin mid January to take care of her affairs, I realized that not only had they stopped coming, but that the pool sweep was also missing. I immediately called and was told that they took the pool sweep because it was "broken". What was wrong with it? No one could really explain. Did they remove it to fix it and bring it back? Doubtful since they hadn't been paid for two months. Why would they fix the sweep if they weren't paid for service? Obviously they had taken the pool sweep to reimburse themselves for those two months. Pretty sure that's illegal - to remove someone's property from their house. It's called stealing. I insisted Fredy give back my pool sweep - obviously I was going to pay him once I found out they were owed. I would have done so if they had made any effort in contacting me. I had to wait an additional two weeks for him to bring it to me - I tried to call them during that time to arrange me picking it up, but no one answered the phone or called me back. Fredy himself came to the house to hand deliver it. Funny to me that he didn't even know how much I owed him. I had to tell him! Lucky for him I'm honest. He said the problem with the sweep was that the wheels were wobbly. Totally bullshit. Horrible customer service. Absolutely no follow through. Cheaper than other places I have called to replace him, but obviously, you get what you pay for. Avoid. Responding to Fredy's response. I had my mom's phone live until January. I received no messages on her phone. If anyone called, no one left a message. Granted, my mom had her phone through November and she wasn't in any position to answer it, but I checked it daily then, and also after she passed. Not sure what number you used but it wasn't hers. I can't come up with any other reason the pool sweep would have been taken if no one was paying. Or why it wasn't returned the day you guys stopped coming. Fredy has done a number of pool and area remodeling projects for us from installing new equipment, adding a heat pump and solar panels, replacing a broken down access gate and resurfacing/replumbing the whole pool. Fredy has a lot of knowledge about pools, plumbing and how it all works. He's seen a lot and because he services pools has a sense of their ryhtm. We manage our own chemistry and care but based on insights he's given us. He works quickly once he gets started although sometimes thatt last 2% (drain caps, warranty delivery, pentair programming) can take a lot longer to actually finish. We are pretty happy with the remodel results and would recommend him especially for pool resurfacing and plumbing. read more

My pool cover needed repair because the ropes that operate it needed to be replaced. Freddy's was the service that was able to come out earliest. As you know, most cover repair services are booked a couple weeks out in summer. Freddys communicated well and often, and came on time. Their estimate was very reasonable. Jose was my service person for my faltering Jacuzzi model J345. Jose was friendly and seemed competent. However, after diagnosing a broken circulation pump, then replacing that pump for $700, my Jacuzzi still did not work. Jose then diagnosed a broken heating element, and asked for another $600 for that work. I believe that a competent diagnosis should have identified both of these malfunctioning components. I have no trust that after I pay for the replacement of the heating element that another issue will not come up. I'm not happy with this provider. read more

Like so many other reviews you see on here, I experienced the same: poor communication and no show for confirmed appointments. Scheduled time to have spa drained cleaned and refilled. Confirmed a specific time at their request. The day of the confirmed time comes and goes with no phone call. I call only to be told it's a window of 3 hours from the confirmed time (confirmation text says nothing of the sort). Two hours later I get a call asking what the service call is for. Really? So trying to be patient I explain and another hour passes and I get a text saying they can't find my home. Another hour later they finally show. Look at the spa and tell me it needs to be drained and clean... that's exactly why you're here. They tell me they need to return the following week. That day and time comes with no call or responses to my text or calls. Why be in business to do work you don't want to do? They came out one day and drained my pool and charged me wayyy too much. If this wasn't bad enough, they stole equipment out of my backyard and told me these items were broken. They were not. Fredy seems like a nice guy however his pool service was unreliable and resulted in multiple algae blooms and staining on my new pool surface. They rarely showed up when they promised and communicated poorly. I've been using Fredy for 8 years or more. Fredy himself does a great job and knows pools. Unfortunately Fredy has expanded and hired others to do the pool servicing for him. The first few guys were well trained and supervised but not anymore. Our service man wouldn't show half the time and when I called Fredy to get him to send another man he wouldn't respond. I watched our pool guy on his last visit I didn't see him test the pool water or apply any chemicals. When I questioned him he didn't know that he was to use any chemicals or that we had a shed full for him to use. All he was doing was emptying our pool sweep. That was the day the pool turned green. I called Fredy to complain and get it fixed and didn't get a call back for two weeks. It wasn't until I fired Fredy's service that he offered to fix the pool. Then never followed through. Now my pool chemistry is so off the charts that I cannot fix it an may have to drain the whole pool. Don't trust these people with your pool! read more
