I've always handle my pool maintenance on my own and was in need of a heater repair and NBWS was the only company that was responsive and willing to come and take a look. I was very pleased so I decided to inquire about their chemicals only service, however, they just changed service to include emptying of all baskets and to clean filters 2x per year for $140 per month and a "start up" fee. I should have known from week 1 when the baskets weren't emptied that this was not going to go well. So I called and was told they just changed the service and they would make sure to tell the tech to empty going forward, fine, I understand things changed. I continued to have the same issue so they assigned me a new tech and day of the week and it went okay for the first few weeks and then back to the same issue, baskets NOT being emptied. When I called back to see if I could pay for chemicals only (I can empty my own baskets) I was told no and was asked if I had been taking photos showing the baskets had not been emptied??? Why do I have to send proof of something not taking place? Is my word not good enough? Why would I be calling if things were being done? The tech was sent back out and I was promised this wouldn't happen again. 5 months later I've finally decided to stop my service as I never have received the full benefit of what I've been paying for and was told I may have a partial balance?? Really? After calling and emailing several times over the last few months I'm hoping my balance will be at $0 for all the inconvenience I've gone through. read more

Are service guy doesn't know what he is doing or he is in such a rush he doesn't treat our pool like he should. He is so bad that our pool developed algae. We had a different guy come out and said we had no chlorine in our pool and our normal service guy isn't putting enough chlorine in for the size of our pool. We run our pump 18 hours a day, but are now having to run it 24/7 because of the service or lack there of we are getting. He is suppose to check our skimmers and clean them out as part of the service and he can't even do that. I called the office and the manager asking for a new service person and explained what was going on and nothing except, "oh, I'll talk to him". So this week I sat and watched him. He is so lazy he poured all the chemicals over the steps and didn't check our skimmers. I called the office to complain, but again they don't want to hear it. He ended coming back and cleaning the skimmers, but you do not pour the chemicals over the steps in one spot. He is so lazy he can't even walk the length of the pool to put the chemicals in. Company's service has gone downhill significantly. I do not write many reviews but I felt so strongly about this company's service and I want others to know to be cautious before hiring. Phone calls will go unanswered. Meaning if you call with a specific question 9 out of 10 times they cannot answer and will say we will give you a call back. You will not get a call back. You will have to keep calling. Asking for a manager to call you does not work either. The folks who answer the phones dont have much knowledge about the company's services offered. When something is being done incorrectly with regard to the pool service, they will put a note on file for your house so the tech knows for next time. The problem will persist unless you keep calling (about once a week for a month is what it takes until that tech decides to quit and then its on to the next one.) They do not do what they say they are going to do as advertised on their website. That is my biggest gripe. When a service is scheduled they will no show and will not give you a courtesy call to let you know whats going on nor when you are rescheduled for the service to be complete. This has been a recurring issue therefore, its worth noting (not a one time occurrence which is more understandable). If you want to "manage" the services provided this is the company for you. You can expect to have to stay on top of them about services being completed properly and timely. If you enjoy the headache involved with such, I would recommend this company since they are slightly cheaper than most. However, you will pay for that with your time and effort involved to keep services up to speed. I do not recommend. We will be switching pool service companys at the end of this service term agreement. read more

Love this company! We have been using the service for a year now. Weakly water check and adjustment every Tuesday morning like clockwork, and 6 months main filter cleaning. 70 dollars a month, and I'll I have to do is clean the pool robot bag, the basket and I brush the pool on Sunday if I remember to. The pool is never over chemicaled and water always is fresh and clear, never any skin Irritation or burning which spouse and little one love. They man who comes always waves when we catch him at breakfast or running out to work. Sometimes we don't even know that he was here if he's early but, they keep a log book in the pump house of how things are. Only once did we get a sercharge for conditioner for the water which was 10-15 dollars maybe? Honestly we put our trust in the company because the water is always great even for our out dated old pool, it's stays great and we use it a lot. Come on warm weather!!! Used NBWS for a couple of years. The weekly service was ok. The office has always been non responsive. Very few phone calls ever returned in a timely manner or at all. Was even going to stay with them after they raised the monthly service by $30 to $245. The final incident for me was that they cracked and eventually broke the pump housing on my 3 year old pump. This was most likely due to the inexperience or lack of training of the weekly technician. It took me many phone calls and multiple service calls before I had an experienced tech come out and discover what was going on. Long story short, they want me to pay $350+ for a replacement housing. No discount of any kind. No apology, nothing. They are not focused on customer service at all. I do not recommend using this company. They are so overpriced and the service sucks. read more

STAY AWAY FROM THIS POOL COMPANY!!! If I could give them 0 stars I would. This was the worst experience with a company I have had in a long time. We took them on in the beginning of November (we had heard good things), they came out and did chemicals on Monday 11/3, and they said that the "scrubbing" was done on Tuesdays. So naturally we expected to see them the next day, but they didn't show. We called and they said it was actually every other week they did the cleanings. So the next Tuesday 11/10 someone showed up and "cleaned" our pool (very poorly) and left. Within the next week our pool started to turn green. So when the next cleaning date came we were excited to see what they were going to do to make it look better (thanksgiving week), only to find out that they had taken the whole week off. So we had a green and murky pool through the holiday. The following week was supposed to be our "off" week, so we wouldn't be seeing them for another 2 weeks. Needless to say I cleaned our pool, and had my wife call to see if we could get refunded for the month of November, considering all they did was take our CLEAN pool and make it green while only coming one time to "clean" it. They said they could only give us $37.50 back out of the $140 that we paid for the month. I am beyond pissed about this. Was expecting WAY more out of a company like this. read more

I hired this company for their one month pool start up service with the intention of continuing with their weekly service. We had just re-plastered our pool. The owner came out the first few days to oversee the start up. After he was happy with how things were looking, his service technician took over for the next three weeks. His service was awful. We have cameras throughout our property. The fist visit, he turned the pump on and added the chemicals (great), but didn't empty the basket (a basic service that comes with start-up and monthly service. The second visit HE DIDN'T TURN ON THE PUMP BEFORE ADDING ACID AND CHLORINE! This STAINED our NEW plaster! Burn marks down the side of the pool where he added the chemicals and didn't have the pump running. He was here for a whopping two minutes. Again, not the biggest issue now, he didn't clean the basket. I called and asked the receptionist to send a different technician out, the same guy came out the third time. We made sure the pump was going this time, but the damage was already done. I found out that we weren't the only new plaster customer that this has happened to. Don't take the chance on this company for their pool service. read more

We held this pool service for nearly 3 years. It just went downhill as the years went by. Finally got rid of them because the pool water was cloudy for a number of months in a row and they kept telling us everything was fine and in balance. We have since hired a new pool service and the pool is crystal clear again (our new service reporter having to drop "gallons and gallons" of chemicals in because the pool was so out of wack from NBWS. NBWS would literally be in our yard for less than 5 minutes when they would do the "weekly service." They would leave notes telling us to do things. Like add salt. Had them for several years there were numerous times where they left my gate open and my dogs got out. I called and no one seemed to think it was a big deal other than myself. they would come and say my gate was locked and then they couldn't service my pool although my gate was not locked m. There were weeks they didn't show up at all and then they stopped doing auto pay so you have to call or logon every month to pay your bill. Sometimes my pool would be clear and whatever he would put in it he would leave and then my pool would turn green within an hour I don't think they know what they're doing and very lazy. very poor customer service in their office as well read more

I called for service for a salt water pool. The lady that answered the phone said yes they service salt water pools. We hired them. And after the winter months the pool was low on salt, we asked the tech and he said he don't add salt that's not part of my service, however I did request service for a saltwater pool. We asked about the condition pack and he said they don't replace those either they just dump it straight in the pool. I noticed he was adding a lot of chlorine and I had asked why that's what the salt is for, again he stated he does not service saltwater pools. So I decided to cancel my service and explained why, the lady then said oh we have someone that can add salt for an additional service fee... seriously. Where do I start, I was using North Bay Pool Service, and I only paid for chemical service only. I would assume that if you pay for chemical service only that you would never have a green colored pool. Well you can see from my pictures that I have a green pool. It is terrible. Whenever I have a question it gets answered/resolved! Which any customer knows is appreciated. The girls in the office answer your questions if they don't know the answer they get it for you. We have used them for a year now and they have been fine. Comes out once a week. Chemical service no issues. This year we have calcium deposits everywhere. YouTubed on how to clean them and they ALL also stated the chemicals were off which is why it was happening. Called them to let them know and they put a note for the guy who was coming the next day. He came said our Ph balance was WAY off and took a sample of our water and someone would call me in a day or two. Waited three days, called and had to leave a message for the service manager. Still no call so I called back the next week told the receptionist my issues " let me get the manager ".... " he told me to take a message ". Really!! What are you doing that you can't answer YOUR customers calls?? Or RETURN calls. I could probably bet you money no one is going to call me back. Your a pool company WE pay for. If your not going to do anything to our pool that WE PAY for we can go somewhere else. There's way too many other pool companies out there for you to ignore your customers. So frustrated! They left a note "Pool needs conditioner but can't add because filter is leaking. Please call office for repairs" in April. So I called and left a message, no one called me back. I called again and talked with a receptionist, she said the service person who left a note will call me back, no one called me back. I called a couple week later, talked with a different receptionist, she wanted me to make an appointment for the repairs. I asked what the problem with the filter, and how much the cost for repair, she said she doesn't know and said the service person will call me back, no one called me back. It's been more than a month now since I received the first note on the door. They are still charging me a monthly maintenance fee even they said they can't treat our pool. I called this morning again, and asked why no one calling me back, the receptionist said, she gave my message to the technician and she doesn't know why he is not calling me back. So I asked I need to talk to the manager, she said, he is not there and he will call me back, or make an appointment with him for the service. I DON'T WANT TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT UNTIL I KNOW WHAT NEED TO BE REPAIRED!!! AND THE COST FOR THE REPAIR!!! I used this company for many years, they used to be good. Have been using this company for about two years now to do the chemical and water balance on our pool and never had a problem until just recently. Two times in the last month I have had the beginnings of algae growth I the pool. Yesterday, I actually had to add an algaecide to halt the algae growth. In both cases, I was required to brush the entire pool and then manually vacuum it the following day. I started this service to avoid this very thing! What really bothers me however was I asked to speak to the manager in an attempt to find out if I am doing something wrong that may be causing this situation. The secretary said he was out and that he would call me later. I called back about five hours later and told the secretary that I still had not received a callback. She promised me that I would get a callback. Needless to say did not happen. I am very unhappy this company appears to be unresponsive to requests to communicate with their customers. read more

I turned out to be a very disappointed customer. In the beginning my pool was clean an it looked beautiful along with my spa! About 8-10mnths later my spa wasn't being cleaned an i would have to call all the time to have them clean it or give me money off because the pool cleaner wouldn't clean it! They would also dump--LITERALLY DUMP some white powder--not sure if it was chlorine or Mauriac acid or conditioner--right on my pool step..... i am no pool genius but i am pretty certain this chemical they dumped on the step would have a hard time dissolving while it sat there. Another thing, anytime we had pool floats in the pool they would throw them out of the pool An leave them where ever rather than placing them back into the pool after cleaning. This company was so lazy! I even found out after i fired them that they weren't cleaning my pump filters ... even though that's what i was paying for. At one point i even over heard one of the pool cleaners talking crap about my dog. Which is funny-because my dog was always inside--an he was hearing my neighbors dog. Company is unprofessional, lazy, and a waste of my money. Very frustrating-FRUSTRATING- doing business with them. read more

Do not use this pool company. I was very dissatisfied with them. They had someone come out to assess why my pool sweep wasn't running. The "expert" they sent said that They needed to replace the wheels and gear on the sweep. The guy "thought" there was a leak in the underground pipes and recommended I have a leak specialist come out. They had the pool sweep for about 3 weeks and said they would charge me $177.00 to fix it. I ok'd that amount. Well they had brought the pool sweep back and they installed it and it worked for about 5 minutes and then it stopped. I called them and told them that the sweep was not working again and they sent someone out to look at it and it wouldn't turn on so he recommended that I call the leak specialist as the filter wasn't priming. So I called the leak specialist and they wanter $550.00 to just come out and find the leak and an additional amount to fix it. So I had another pool guy come out and he suggested that I let the water go down and see if it stops at the skimmer and sure enough it did stop at the skimmer. So because my pool was so dirty and green, I decided to add water to it. Well I accidentally added too much water to the pool and I turned the sweep on and it started working. I went underwater and placed pool putty on every crack that I saw and my pool is now working properly. No leak detector used. So I get a bill from them and they charged me $252.16 and did not fix the problem. I actually believe that the sweep didn't need new wheels and gear. When I paid the bill I wrote a long paragraph stating exactly what I wrote here and said that I don't feel that they should have charged me $150.00 to come out a second time because they hadn't fixed the problem. I said that if they don't refund my money that I would write a bad review so here it is. I only make $16.00 an hour where do they get off charging so much! I was scammed. NBWS has been doing our pool service for two years now. We opened our account with them after having repeated issues with a different company. After switching to them, we noticed a big difference with our chemicals! The previous company didn't regularly test the water, just dumped in chlorine each week. The smell was super strong! NBWS tests the water and adds only what is necessary. Everything is much more balanced now. They're so consistent and punctual with our weekly service. The same guy comes every week and even has a special friendship with our dog who excitedly runs out to meet him! Recently, I had to call and pause our service due to our pool remodel. It was so easy to stop and start. They were able to get us back in our normal time slot, same as before. We were also able to schedule our start-up service for the new pool water so easily! They answered all my (many) questions and worked around our schedule to get us in quickly! Lastly, the woman who answers the phone is amazing! very disappointed. Have been trying to get our spa to heat for months. Now service people coming out (took 6 months to get a service scheduled), and the pool heating system is broken and leaking. After having to turn off the system at the breaker, and calling the office as the pool is slowly draining, the "We can get someone out to you within 3-5 days" is not the answer I wanted this morning. Beware of this pool service!!! I specifically called because the pressure on the pump was low. I was told they could send someone out in 3-5 business days. Never told that there would be a charge or how much. They sent someone over a week later, but I was fine with that. Their worker arrived and did not have the proper equipment to fix or even properly detect exactly what the problem was. He was here for less than an hour and told me I should be expecting a $150 invoice in the mail and that I should call the American leaking company because I have a leak. I called the company who said they would charge $360 just for coming out and advised i get a second opinion. I did and ESTUARDOS POOL SERVICE was kind enough to come see what was wrong with the pool. Not only did he state that if he did not fix it, I wouldn't have to pay, but he came with the proper equipment. He UNCLOGGED my "leaking" pipes in less than 5 minutes!!!! I am completely baffled at the fact that I am paying more for someone who came to my house for NOTHING because he obviously had no idea what he was doing, than for someone that actually did the job quickly and efficiently. And another thing, I have tried to contact the manager for 3 weeks now and he is never in office, will call me back, or stepped out for a few minutes. Super unprofessional. I am beyond annoyed. Worst experience ever. My pool was a mess and $190 later it is still A mess. It took 2 guys to test my pool water with no feed back. Tim shocked my pool but did not turn on the fiter. Joe came to clean the filter and my husband watched them NOT clean the fiters. They looked and put the cover back on. The worst part is Phil calls me a liar because the truck was sitting outside my house for 45 min. Well i dont pay a pool service to sit in front of my house. Then Antoino comes to scrub my pool by scrubbing the steps not turning on the filter and skimmed the pool and empty the bag on the rover but did notreatach correctly. After he beat up my pergola for five min he left. I made it clear i want the bottom ckeaned not just scrubbed and then settle back in the bottome of my pool. I had spoken with several other pool repair companies and was convinced I would probably need to replace my older pool heater costing around $3600. In less than 5 minutes he was able to get the pool heater working. He explained how it works and what prevented it from turning on. I appreciated his honesty. I have been with NBWS for the last 21/2 years I cannot begin to say how outstanding their service has been we bought this home with a real bad looking pool and they did the start up , drained , cleaned and set us up and helped us understand our pool , they have kept up the clarity of pool and are extremely helpful ... now we just replastered our pool and Ken the owner came by to start up the chemicals and of course as usual he went above and beyond to help me with other little things that the replaster pool company lacked to tell me he even showed me that I had a water refill for the pool !!!! Had pool drained and cleaned by this company, and my sewer trap cover was opened to drain the water from the pool which they never placed back the cover; suction covers from the pool was removed and never placed back; my pool light was removed so I could get a upgraded LED bulb but they never returned and took them 3 weeks just to give me a price. My pool was empty for 3 days which is bad for the plaster before they called me to start refilling it. I called the manager and the general manager but never received a call back, and the receptionist taking calls was too busy chewing gum while blabbering over the phone with me. DONT GET FOOLED by the fancy vinyl wrap of their service vehicles and think they are there to provide excellent service. This place sucks! read more
