Back again for a quick lunch. The food took way longer this time but I was given another drink for my troubles. Lips cafe drinks and food is consistently good-- hence why I always come back! Was about to get a seat and get a little work done too. As always the music was good and the staff were friendly.

My lattes are always 10/10 and I love how if you ask them to surprise you with a drink they do and it tasted delicious. Customer service 10/10 and the space is a vibe . I haven't tried the food but it always looks really good.

The Lips Cafe looked so cute from across the street. I was enticed to go inside. The server was cool and the space gave good vibes. I ordered a matcha with a splash of coconut syrup. Each sip was absolutely delightful. If I lived near, l'd be a regular.

This was a very tasty meal. My only issue is I thought it was a sandwich. I didn't appreciate having to do work and put my sandwich together myself. I ordered through ubereats and so I cannot comment on ambiance. I will say my food arrived steaming hot. I also ordered an americano coffee and that was also tasty. I live a few blocks away and definitely will stop by soon.

The atmosphere of the place was cool. There were different books around the place for decor. Sweaters and shirts hung up for sale. Pastries, multi flavored lemon-aid and cocktails for purchase. I came to this place from the Bronx for a book release event. AMAZING TURNOUT KIANA ST. LOUIS. Get The Book "Love Trauma Healing" If You Haven't Already! The cons were the people working at the place, didn't seem to have knowledge of their merchandise prices. Someone asked how much a sweater was, and they didn't know. They also didn't seem too enthusiastic about being there that night, with the amount of people making purchases and the crowd in the café.

We had a decent visit to this black-owned establishment that came recommended by someone from the neighborhood. The person who took our order was moderately personable, but answered all of our questions. The vibe was quaint, but cool. The restroom was clean with black toilet. Random, but cool. It took almost 30 minutes to get my order and I suppose it was worth the wait. I had the chicken and waffles. The waffles were the star. The chicken was cooked well, but covered in sweet Thai chili sauce which was a surprise. Still tasty. My sister had the avocado toast with salt fish. She was just middle of the road on it. We ordered a side of plantain to share. Those were cooked to perfection. She loved her ginger pineapple sorrel and my OJ was fresh and delicious. I want to give this close to 3.75 stars. Overall it was a decent breakfast to start our Brooklyn morning.

I've come to this cafe on several occasions to get some work done, or unwind. Lips Cafe always hits the mark! Things I love: - Calm atmosphere - Friendly staff - There's a wide variety of food options. My favorite things to get here are the Lemon Loaf, Bake & Saltfish, Salmon Wrap, and Sorrel. Things to Note: - The food is made fresh, so the wait time for your order will vary depending on your meal. - They have reusable utensils, so be sure to note if you're dining in. - This spot is always a vibe on the weekends, so keep an eye out for different social events.

This cafe never disappoints. Anytime of year they bring it! From the music selection, artistry, seasonal deserts, and tasteful artwork this is truly a welcoming place. The perfect meetup spot for work, coffee date, or a proper catch-up with friends. They serve breakfast, lunch, and Evernote have a liquor license. Today I went with my Sorors to celebrate Fonders' a Day and bring an out of town coworker to Flatbush! We had sorrel, lunch, and shots. We had such a good time it was a struggle to get them to leave. I will be back and will continue to spread the word about this phenomenal son & mother owned business.

Lips has the best vibes. My go-to order, an iced matcha with coconut syrup, was recommended by the barista and it's the only thing i've ordered since. The sweetness from the coconut helps bring out the earthy matcha flavor. The matcha is creamy and is the perfect drink iced or hot. This was the first cafe I've seen a blue matcha offered and it was splendid as well. It's a cute shade of blue and had a light vanilla taste. I enjoy studying here but finding a seat can be difficult at times. I recommend coming in the mornings or early afternoon to find a seat.

Lips Cafe has been on my places to see for a minute. I went in to get some work done after the gym and was super hungry. This is a Carribbean cafe that serves coffee and hot food. I liked the interior; for the most part everyone was spaced out and could see each other so it feels warm/inviting. Now, for the food. I got the Jerk Chicken panini wrap and a sorrel refresher. Both were better than expected. The sorrel drink was large and not too sweet, and my jerk wrap was so satisfying (well seasoned, filled with jerk and spicy ).

I followed their Instagram before coming in. As soon as there was a day I didn't want to cook lunch, I ordered their tempting jerk salmon wrap and saltfish wrap for pick up. The wraps were delicious. The mango sauce is on another level and the food overall tasted fresh. It was perfectly curated. The downside is that it does take AWHILE. I took my time picking up and when I arrived myself and two other patrons were waiting for our food for about 30 minutes. 30 minutes past the pickup time. I love their food. I love all the community events they have (check them out on their Instagram) but hoping their wait times improve. Definitely will be back. Oh, they are innovative! An espresso shot with beets?!

It was sort of an odd time so the spacious restaurant wasn't very busy. We studied the menu for too long and after much deliberation, here's what we ordered, in order of spice level: - Oxtail ($35): Not spicy, super flavorful, "Trimmed and sliced chunks of oxtail seasoned freely with fresh spices and simmered to tender perfection." - Curry goat ($29): Mildly spicy, "Goat meat marinated and cooked in curry spices and herbs makes this an exotic dish." - Jerk chicken ($20): Apparently incredibly spicy so I steered clear of it, "A Jamaican delight. Spicy, delicious chicken baked with this unique combination of spices from the island." The dishes I could handle were excellent, with no drop of sauce left unmopped. On the sides front, the rice and beans, roti, steamed vegetables, and plantains were all tasty. The entree sizes were hearty. Our server seemed like a cool dude: easygoing with a sense of humor. It was kind of chilly in the restaurant, not sure if we were in a warmth dead zone or what. The bathroom was frog-themed which was a cute touch!

Very island spiced and cooked well - Goat was also really strong - Reasonable prices - service with personality What's to jeer - they were out of the jerk chicken unfortunately which I really wanted to try - place is pretty low key and not swimming with ambience

For mains, we tried the biang biang Rasta noodles with salmon (6/10) and the sofrino roasted chicken (5/10). Both were a bit underwhelming. I've heard their drinks are great but we didn't try any. I'm Dominican so I know oxtail pretty well and have made it myself. Thankfully, this place absolutely delivered. The oxtail was perfectly slow-braised, tender, and falling right off the bone -- exactly how it should be. Absolutely amazing. Of course I had the rice and peas, plus some veggies. A few of the veggies were slightly overcooked, but still flavorful and enjoyable. The drinks looked incredible, but I went with the rum punch and loved it. It was a little sweet, but super flavorful, strong, and definitely worth ordering again. For dessert, I had the Hennessy cheesecake, which was rich, decadent, and unbelievably delicious. There were three of us dining, and we all left completely satisfied -- with take-home containers because the portions are VERY generous. The only thing that bothered me a bit was that our server seemed to focus most of her attention on my friend. She is Jamaican, and because I look like a white American woman, I felt a little overlooked at times, even when I had several requests myself. We also had to look for her a couple of times while she was sitting with a group nearby. That said, everyone overall was very nice and welcoming. The bussers especially stood out -- they checked on us often, kept everything clean, and even greeted me in Spanish, which I appreciated. For my hubby, Brooklyn is home - and we always love exploring the new places the city has to offer when we visit. We had reservations, and were seated within 10 minutes, which was reasonable. The place was packed - everyone was in high spirits, and I was ready to taste some of the best Caribbean cuisine in the region. My hubby's best friend - a Brooklyn resident, joined us. He had been to the restaurant a few times - and had good things to say. We were not disappointed. I had the Brown Stew Red Snapper - *chef's kiss*. Hubby had the iconic Jerk Oxtail over Macaroni & Cheese Pie! The English language cannot convey the beauty of that combination! Tender, tender oxtail, falling off the bone with the creamy, cheesy mac & cheese! He wanted to savor that dish another day, so he got a to-go bag and took it back to the hotel! (I couldn't help but clean my plate - I was obsessed with the fish!) Our friend enjoyed the Hennessy Fried Shrimp (not pictured) - one of his favorite dishes at the restaurant. It looked delicious as well. For drinks, I had the Bob Marley cocktail. A colorful drink - flavorful - and effective! There were people celebrating their birthdays throughout the night - and the wait staff goes IN! I was enjoying watching at least 10 people receive the Stevie Wonder "Happy Birthday" song while we were there. Imagine my surprise when it was my turn! My birthday was the day before, and we had already celebrated in Manhattan. Having two special recognition events made the evening that much more special! Shout out to the Simpson crew who came with the song, the rhythm, the sparkling cake, and the good vibes! My 70th birthday was exceptional - without a doubt. The Simpson added the touch I needed. We'll definitely go back next time we're in Brooklyn!
