Kouign Amann, Oatmeal Raisin Cookie - A box contains a cinnamon roll and a chocolate chip cookie, with a can of soda and a tea sachet on a wooden table.

Came in for a quick bite and a drink. What a cool new addition to the neighborhood! The inside of the café is incredibly spacious with gorgeous natural light and minimalistic yet lovely art. The lady working at the front counter was incredibly kind and served me several pastries The oatmeal raisin cookie was delicious, sweet and a good size but the real star was their Kouign Amann which wasn't like anything I've tasted before. Crispy yet flaky with the delicious sugary goodness. This would be a great place to stop in to meet a friend for a quick pastry or tea/coffee.

Entrance - Nyla House's storefront features a glass door, beige curtains inside, and a sign with blue lettering and a house icon, with wooden fencing and trash bins outside.

Friendly neighborhood coffee shop with plenty of space for casual coffee lovers and available board games and books.

Disappointed. I came out of my Yelp review hiatus to leave feedback to hopefully get to the owners. It's definitely a location that can use a cute coffee shop, and this place has potential, but it's not there yet. Issues this morning (10am on a Saturday) -there's no paper menu or description of items so we had to ask what was in everything one by one. I don't know what "undergrad" or "oldie but goodie" is under the all day menu, for example. -only enough bread to make 1 order of French toast -no milk. They were waiting on a shipment of supplies. Only oat and almond milk available. -bacon is overcooked (I should have taken pictures, but I didn't. There's another picture up of a sandwich with bacon, you can see it's overcooked) -my BEC came on sandwhich bread, not a bun. Maybe this was a supply issue too -processed cheese (I realize that's common in NYC, but they have the opportunity to elevate their offering) -packaged plastic utensils to dine in. -asked for water for our toddler, the staff asked if she needed ice because they have to charge for ice. Mind you, this is after we spent $50. We didn't want ice though because it's the middle of winter. -husband ordered the "Toast + Things", which we were told is French toast plus eggs and bacon. After we paid and sat down, the cashier/barista was on the phone with someone (apparently the owner). When she got off the phone she apologized and said that she charged us wrong because this item is new, wasn't loaded in their computer yet and she actually needed to charge us an additional $5 for the bacon and eggs. Also apologized that the signage doesn't have prices. -as I'm siting here writing this review, a gentleman came in for coffee and was told that they can't make coffee right now, only espresso drinks. -asked for a to go container for the toddlers grilled cheese. The cashier had to ask for a piece of foil from the cook to wrap it. Sigh ETA, as I left I saw they were using "buttery spread", so if you care about processed products, and food quality, you may want to know that. Also saw a bacon package that said "beef bacon". I'm not sure if I was eating beef bacon. As I said, it was overcooked and maybe if it was beef, that explains the difference in color and texture. I do eat pork, many don't. Having only beef bacon could be a selling point, but please be clear with people about what they're eating. Positives -ambiance -location -$3.5 Americano -husband enjoyed his French toast

Brand new hidden gem coffee shop in Crown Heights. Love the atmosphere here and the people are so nice! The coffee is delicious and the food is even better. Tried their B.E.C (Bacon Egg and Cheese) pictured below. It was outstanding, so delicious. Can't wait to come back! Also their coffee syrups are always so good! A must try!

Great Neighborhood cafè. I visited for the first time this morning. It felt like I stopped by a friend's house for a coffee and a chat. Thanks for saving me the additional two block walk and craziness at the Dunkin Donuts down street. The coffee was amazing but I'm excited to try something new the next time around. Oh and the breakfast sandwich was made with real eggs, fresh ingredients and came hot off the grill. GREAT ADDITION TO THE NEIGHBORHOOD!!!

Iced latte with oat milk and 50/50 - Two iced beverages with straws are placed on a wooden table, each on a coaster, with a smartphone and a napkin nearby.

the bacon egg n cheese sandwich was life changing: eggs were fluffy, beef bacon was so crispy, and a hot sauce to cut through all the decadence.

Got brunch here on a Sunday with a friend. We split the Hot Honey Gem Salad and Hottokeki (Japanese…read moresoufflé pancake). The pancake is gigantic and is absolutely meant to be shared. It was really fluffy and smelled soooo good (reminiscent of the HK street cart waffles). But because it's so big, by the time we ate half of it, we were getting a little tired of the same taste. The salad was good but nothing to rave about. For drinks, we tried the Lebowski-San and Kettl Hojicha Kombucha. It was my first time trying a clarified cocktail and it was really unique. I thought there would be more ice cream honestly but I still loved it. The kombucha though was shockingly tasty. I loved it so much that I bought a bottle online once I got home (they're from Kettl, a local distillery in Brooklyn). The venue is really spacious and I actually planned a wedding here in the past. They host a lot of events and there was even a birthday party happening when I ate there. The only downside is the location. The only train that goes there is the G so it's a bit hard to get to. Food: Hot Honey Gem Salad (radish, buckwheat, fennel, yuzu vinaigrette) 9/10 Hottokeki / Japanese Soufflé Pancake (fluffy hotcake, honey maple butter, sesame) 9/10 Add Mini White Sesame Soft Serve (soy milk, sesame oil) 10/10 - I would recommend just getting this on its own instead of the Hottokeki if you're craving just a little dessert. Drinks: Lebowski-San (green tea shochu, pisco, sakura leaf, clarified matcha ice cream, cold brew coffee floater) 9/10 - This is a clarified cocktail which I didn't expect. I thought I was ordering a matcha ice cream-like drink so although the drink was good, all the ingredients are very subtle in flavor. Kettl x Unified Ferments 'Hojicha' Kombucha (jou yanagi hojicha) 10/10 - This is an absolute must-try!

Really popular space that speaks for itself. I also went on a special occasion and they prepared a nice note congratulating me on my special day. Additionally, I loved the high ceilings and natural light from the skylights above. Definitely recommend the chips with the potato salad and caviar. I still think about it sometimes and even created something similar when I host events! They also have a lot of fun cocktails that make this place a great place to gather with friends.

Wow, my expectations were very high and Rhythm Zero delivered. The shop randomly smells so good,…read morelike earthy & almost like a really inoffensive perfume. The interior design is also gorgeous. The furniture and decor is so thoughtfully curated and made it seem like a gallery. There are two big couches, a few seats, and a large communal table for laptop work. Some tables outdoors too for once the weather warms up! It's really close to the Transmitter Park as well, so super convenient to take your drink to go. Service was really friendly, and although it is a small area behind the counter and it was busy, drinks came out relatively quickly. The Blackberry Pie Matcha was honestly incredible. I'm typically someone who gravitates towards seasonal/fun drinks, so this is right up my alley. I don't know how they did it, but they really captured the pie flavor in this drink. It was almost buttery and custard-y and paired super nicely with the matcha and fruitiness of the blackberry. Everyone in the Transmitter Park had a cup, so I need to try their coffee as well.

My husband and I…read morerarely go out to eat because we own restaurants, so we usually will only go for a special occasion, my husband picked Bonafini because it's, like him, it's Italian. We had a delightful dinner, service was great, the owner herself waited on us, she is fabulous. The restaurant is very cute, it's really like a neighborhood trattoria where all the locals eat, casual and relaxed. The place had a great vibe, lots of people enjoying themselves. We had a bottle of wine, apps, mains, and the most moist olive cake I've ever had, all at a great value. We will be coming to this restaurant often since we live close by.

I had the pancakes, which came with blueberry compote, Greek yogurt, and hazelnut spread. My dining partner went for what I believe was the Sicilian Shakshuka -- tomato and vegetable stew, olives, bread, and eggs. The pancakes were solid: just the right amount of maple syrup. They were a little on the dry side, but still tasty, helped along by what seemed like Nutella or another chocolate-hazelnut sauce. Not mind-blowing, but satisfying and definitely hit the spot. Overall, a pleasant brunch -- we left full and happy. I'd be glad to come back the next time I'm in Brooklyn. Last visited: August 23, 2025
