Back again for a quick lunch. The food took way longer this time but I was given another drink for my troubles. Lips cafe drinks and food is consistently good-- hence why I always come back! Was about to get a seat and get a little work done too. As always the music was good and the staff were friendly.

My lattes are always 10/10 and I love how if you ask them to surprise you with a drink they do and it tasted delicious. Customer service 10/10 and the space is a vibe . I haven't tried the food but it always looks really good.

The Lips Cafe looked so cute from across the street. I was enticed to go inside. The server was cool and the space gave good vibes. I ordered a matcha with a splash of coconut syrup. Each sip was absolutely delightful. If I lived near, l'd be a regular.

This was a very tasty meal. My only issue is I thought it was a sandwich. I didn't appreciate having to do work and put my sandwich together myself. I ordered through ubereats and so I cannot comment on ambiance. I will say my food arrived steaming hot. I also ordered an americano coffee and that was also tasty. I live a few blocks away and definitely will stop by soon.

Book Release Event

The atmosphere of the place was cool. There were different books around the place for decor. Sweaters and shirts hung up for sale. Pastries, multi flavored lemon-aid and cocktails for purchase. I came to this place from the Bronx for a book release event. AMAZING TURNOUT KIANA ST. LOUIS. Get The Book "Love Trauma Healing" If You Haven't Already! The cons were the people working at the place, didn't seem to have knowledge of their merchandise prices. Someone asked how much a sweater was, and they didn't know. They also didn't seem too enthusiastic about being there that night, with the amount of people making purchases and the crowd in the café.

We had a decent visit to this black-owned establishment that came recommended by someone from the neighborhood. The person who took our order was moderately personable, but answered all of our questions. The vibe was quaint, but cool. The restroom was clean with black toilet. Random, but cool. It took almost 30 minutes to get my order and I suppose it was worth the wait. I had the chicken and waffles. The waffles were the star. The chicken was cooked well, but covered in sweet Thai chili sauce which was a surprise. Still tasty. My sister had the avocado toast with salt fish. She was just middle of the road on it. We ordered a side of plantain to share. Those were cooked to perfection. She loved her ginger pineapple sorrel and my OJ was fresh and delicious. I want to give this close to 3.75 stars. Overall it was a decent breakfast to start our Brooklyn morning.

I've come to this cafe on several occasions to get some work done, or unwind. Lips Cafe always hits the mark! Things I love: - Calm atmosphere - Friendly staff - There's a wide variety of food options. My favorite things to get here are the Lemon Loaf, Bake & Saltfish, Salmon Wrap, and Sorrel. Things to Note: - The food is made fresh, so the wait time for your order will vary depending on your meal. - They have reusable utensils, so be sure to note if you're dining in. - This spot is always a vibe on the weekends, so keep an eye out for different social events.

This cafe never disappoints. Anytime of year they bring it! From the music selection, artistry, seasonal deserts, and tasteful artwork this is truly a welcoming place. The perfect meetup spot for work, coffee date, or a proper catch-up with friends. They serve breakfast, lunch, and Evernote have a liquor license. Today I went with my Sorors to celebrate Fonders' a Day and bring an out of town coworker to Flatbush! We had sorrel, lunch, and shots. We had such a good time it was a struggle to get them to leave. I will be back and will continue to spread the word about this phenomenal son & mother owned business.

Lips has the best vibes. My go-to order, an iced matcha with coconut syrup, was recommended by the barista and it's the only thing i've ordered since. The sweetness from the coconut helps bring out the earthy matcha flavor. The matcha is creamy and is the perfect drink iced or hot. This was the first cafe I've seen a blue matcha offered and it was splendid as well. It's a cute shade of blue and had a light vanilla taste. I enjoy studying here but finding a seat can be difficult at times. I recommend coming in the mornings or early afternoon to find a seat.

Lips Cafe has been on my places to see for a minute. I went in to get some work done after the gym and was super hungry. This is a Carribbean cafe that serves coffee and hot food. I liked the interior; for the most part everyone was spaced out and could see each other so it feels warm/inviting. Now, for the food. I got the Jerk Chicken panini wrap and a sorrel refresher. Both were better than expected. The sorrel drink was large and not too sweet, and my jerk wrap was so satisfying (well seasoned, filled with jerk and spicy ).

If you're like me and wanna be productive, I head to a Cafe! & one of my favorites that I find myself at is LIPS! . . The decor is cozy; decorated by their merchandise, and black artwork/literature. Some noticeable pieces are: Artwork by @pstudios_, "Black Boy Fly" By @joshuarenfroe_, pieces by @theattieproject, and even Jean Michael Basquiat. You can easily get your coffee and end up staying here for HOURS (like me). .. . It is a decent size inside, but it can get packed quickly. There is wifi which works pretty well most of the time, sometimes I found the Wifi to occasionally drop, but refreshing would always help. The music is always low and very laid back. Lips isn't our typical cafe, they serve breakfast pastries and lunch/dinner entrees, and also they have a bar! I always start with an iced vanilla latte with oat milk, and either a Rasta Pasta Dish or a Wrap. I recently had their passionfruit lemonade and it is so good! It's about 50/50 in which the service will be delayed, however, if it does take long, someone has always updated me. If I'm drinking, I'll end up with a Yellow Lip (which is good). I even had a pound cake for dessert one day, and they warmed it up for me.... (I almost collapsed because it was so tasty). Everyone is always attentive and will make you feel at home. You can even catch the owners in there as well, and it's Black Owned !! . . Lips is a unique space, so I recommend it for: getting work done, (It's open late, which is a plus because not many cafes are open late) grabbing drinks with friends, or having a casual date. They even host an array of events, from art exhibitions to networking events. . . A true gem.

RATING: 4.5/5 | Came on a Saturday late afternoon and it was busy! The line moves, thankfully. It's…read morerelatively spacious for a cafe, but there's minimal seating. There is some counter space, but mainly for standing purposes. I ordered a standard Iced Matcha Latte with Oat Milk ($7.35) and my friend got her usual Iced Strawberry Matcha Latte ($8). Docking 1/2 point bc the matcha is pre-made. I'm a fan of the whisking process bc I do believe there's a craft to matcha overall. Surprisingly, my drink tasted fine and my bev was a good color, so I was pleasantly happy. We waited less than 10 min for a table to open up, but you have to be there at the right time, otherwise you prob just grab your drink + go. Overall, glad I tried Kijitora. It's not my first matcha choice, but it was decent for a standard matcha latte. Their specialty matcha drinks look to have mixed reviews, but I'm personally not a fan of sweet drinks.

The tote bags were so cute but they were kind of pricey in my opinion. A standard beige Kijitora bag was priced for $30 each! They had several designs for sale. I was just busy checking out the cool cat merchandise while I was waiting in the long line to purchase the matcha drinks. The line was exceptionally long! It was worth the hype though! When I was my turn, I got an iced strawberry matcha latte and an iced mango matcha latte. It was so pretty when I got them. The mango and strawberry paste were sitting at the bottom of the matcha latte. I had to stir and mix the fruits with the whole drink. Surprisingly it was not sweet at all and was just right! They made it in a way that wanted you to crave more of it. It was very addicting. I did not get onigiris this time but will be sure to get some next time I'm here. They were just $4 each for miso salmon, tuna mayo, mentaiko cod roe, sukiyaki beef, and chashu pork. What a decent price for one onigiri! I would definitely be sure to get the miso salmon next time I'm here. The place was very cute with nice little tables for individuals. The place was very cozy with lots of sunlight coming in. Very modern with plants all around. It was so loud with people talking over each other. There were too many people on a Sunday afternoon so I had to walk around or cut through people to get my way. It was that crowded. I also didn't expect this place to be on the second floor and the stairs to be that steep. It was hectic carrying my stroller upstairs. Luckily someone helped me get down! The stairs are very narrow so I had to hold onto the rail. It was not ergonomically friendly at all.

This is a really cute café that has gorgeous leather furniture, lighting fixtures, and cool plants everywhere, very modern looking. The music they play here is great too. I was a little disappointed to see that their food menu was quite limited, and by that time of day, there was really only one savory option that stood out to me, the Parmesan and leek pastry. I ordered this and had the barista heated up for me, as well as print out a receipt because this is how you access the Wi-Fi. I sat in the corner along the wall on a wooden bench and attempted to do work on one of the small metal tables. The tables are quite low, so this really isn't a great place to get a ton of work done in my opinion, as well as the fact that the Wi-Fi only works for 30 minutes and after that, you need to go back up and get another receipt for a code. I was also a little disappointed in the pastry itself, as it wasn't fully heated and was a little too greasy for me. I can't speak on the coffee here, but it did look like they provide high-quality options. Vibes and aesthetic are high but I can't say I'd come here again.

I grabbed a bag of DAK beans, which came with a free single-origin drip. It was honestly great for drip -- clean, not watery, and nicely fruity and juicy. " There's a reason there are consistent lines out the door for The Villager, the coffee is insanely spectacular. First, why name it The Villager? Well, most coffee places in Brooklyn, cater to the community where one welcomes loyal friends. We all know about loyalty, a favorite gem we patronize over and over again. As a lover of Eastern Parkway, I am always looking for new spots thus as I was near Brooklyn Botanic Garden, I decided to scope out a new vibe. The Villager instantly popped up on Classon Avenue. I spotted it quickly because there was already a small line out the door. The line moved quickly. I ordered the flat white and found a comfy leather seat at the counter.(something about counters folks!). I looked around and the place was buzzing: patrons talking, sipping and it looked like a community gathering which I LOVVVE especially on a lazy Sunday afternoon. The barista, David, found me and I looked at the little work of art that is a Flat White. I needed a FW, that double shot espresso to wake ME UP! One sip and I felt so much better than when I walked in. It was deliciously crafted and served in a pretty ceramic cup. I sipped and savored! As for the vibe, you can shut the buzz down a bit and listen to the cool music and scan the pretty room with beautiful plants. I was in my own oasis. There are sweets on the counter to accompany your beverage of choice. The seating offered is counter, small tables in and outside. The Villager sells international coffee from Rwanda, El Salvador, Honduras to name a few. Congrats to owners, Ben and Courtney for creating a wonderful community space in Brooklyn.
