For my birthday, my thoughtful sissy decided that we would make our own perfumes! Literally excited. I love perfume and she does too, so this birthday date made sense. NOTE TO ANYONE WHO GETS NAUSEA EASILY: it's going to happen, especially with all the different scents you're smelling to curate your own perfume. I got a tad nauseous and had to step out for fresh air. After we mixed our scents, our guide took our chosen scents and went to work! You get to "name" your perfume bottle. My perfume name you ask? Well, it's called "She Got You." I wear it to bed sometimes. Insert smirk here. 10/10, 5/5. Loved this experience! Check it out for yourselves. Cheers!

It can become a little crowded and loud. I do wish it was a little more less overstimulating, and a little more on the personal level. But, we managed both times. When you arrive you are seated at a bar like set up. You are instructed to smell some base fragrances. From there you have maybe 6-8 crafted scents to smell from there. Let me tell you it is hard. Going outside to smell and giving it time to rest on the paper or your skin is best. The whole process takes about 1 hour or so. In October we made a signature scent for the fall/winter time frame and this recent visit in April we went for a spring/summer scent. All the staff were amazing. They really paid attention to us the whole time and engaged in some nice chit chat and enjoyed our time. The cost is under $100 which is very reasonable for what you get. A lot of higher end fragrances cost around that or more. My friend and I really enjoy this experience/ So much that we may do this often.

We were walk ins and didn't have to wait long for our custom experience. While we waited, we started deciding what fragrances were most appealing. Almost every seat was filled when we arrived, but we only had to wait about 15 min for people to finish and make space for us. It's such a cute little shop! However, if you more than a couple people in your group, try to make a reservation in advance. The previous to make the fragrance was really cool. The associate who helped us listened and made helpful recommendations that resulted in us making the perfect fragrance. Is really cool too that every custom scent is saved in their database, so if you ever want to get more out make the scent into a soap, lotion, spray, etc, they can recreate it for you. 10/10 recommend!

I was invited to the grand opening but missed the giveaways, DJ (music) and activities. I need to get better with my time management. Unfortunately, they didn't have in stock some of my wants: Huda Beauty Lipstick and the limited edition YSL perfume. Oh well, I guess I will buy it online like I typically do. I did receive a bag of popcorn (I spent a certain amount of money).. The lines were very long, so that was to be expected. Overall, I enjoyed my time there, but if you know, you know, I'm easy to please when it comes to makeup shopping, lol. Want more authentic and honest reviews? It also wasn't hard at all, I loved the streamlined process. They have a great team here. The owner Chanel was great to communicate with beforehand. She had timely responses, answered all my questions, and was very accommodating. She's also a Cosmetic Chemist, so she knows her stuff! Madison was our instructor and wow, everyone loved her. She had great energy, knew the pigments and process like the back of her hand, and anytime someone showed her a picture of how they wanted their gloss to look like, she knew immediately what they should add to get it there. The suite was also so cute! This is perfect for celebrating a birthday, bridal shower, Galentine's Day, or a random girls day. This is also something you can do solo or with 1 other friend (there are individual tickets and group tickets). Everything was clean too and there was parking for everyone. The price is $65 per person which is a good deal. Something cool they also now offer is take home kits where you can do it at home. If you do the kit at home, it's $65 for 2 people $125 for 4 people. This is an awesome spot with great service, so I can't wait to do it again!

However, I will not and I'd much rather drive to Virginia to support a more professional business. As soon as I walk through the door I'm greeted with "can you leave that outside." The lady, who I assume is the owner, had been referring to my small dog. I offered to have my dog sit at the door if she was concerned about her using the restroom on her floor (which was understandable even though my dog is well trained. I know she doesn't know that so fine.) she replied with "I'd rather you not have it in here at all." I understand not everyone is a dog person but it comes down to how you address situations in your establishment that determines the overall success of a business. She was flat out RUDE and unprofessional! I left without buying anything because why would I support someone that doesn't even know how to talk to people. Reason #5 why we (black people) make it difficult to support black businesses.
