Watch out for lots of hidden dry cleaning fees! I needed dry cleaning done for 5 cashmere sweaters. First off, my initial pickup time was cancelled because the driver decided to take the day off... ummm, ok... but, someone came later that evening. Fine, no prob. As for the hidden fees--the site lists a whole bunch of prices for various types of items. However, they failed to list the extra fees for things like holes and hoods. (I was charged an additional $15. They also claimed I had 3 "long" sweaters. Only one was long. But, of course, I have no way of knowing what they consider long. So, what I thought was going to be a $45 cleaning--that's with the $10 discount--was actually $60. Would have been $70 without the discount.) Now I know why they offer $10 off--they know they're going to find extra things to charge you for, so this way you "feel" like you're getting a deal. But, you're not. They're already the most expensive laundry service in Manhattan--really, they have to have hidden fees? And they suggest a $15 tip before you even get your itemized receipt. (Now I know why. Lol) Plus, they secretly charge a $2.50 Living Wage fee. Seriously? Got my dry cleaned sweaters two days later--and to be fair, they were well done. But, I don't appreciate the lack of pricing transparency. Won't be using them again. read more

Liox is the best dry cleaning experience I've had during my 8 years in Manhattan. I sought them out after taking my favorite Eva Franco dress to 3 other dry cleaners, that failed to get out coffee and water stains. I must admit the stains were pretty gruesome, and the cotton blend fabric, fully lined in satin, was quite the challenge. As soon as I walked into Liox I was assured there was no problem they couldn't tackle. I watched as the lovely receptionist patiently went through the entire dress with me and delicately tape marked each spot. 48 hours later my favorite dress was in mint condition. Aside from this amazing first experience with Liox, I've continued to be impressed by their consistent turnaround, friendly service (they always remember your face, which in NYC is amazing!), and text alerts. If I could give this place negative stars I would. Placed a pick up order for m laundry. The original window when they were supposed to pickjp was between 3pm and 5pm. I called at 5 since they hadn't shown up and told the woman I need to step out. She said she would have the driver come between 6 and 8pm. Driver never showed up and now they aren't answering the phone. Spike to the customer service numerous times and she kept asking if I want a pick up? What kind of question is that??? The customer service here is simply atrocious. If you read other reviews on here you will see the same complaint. They treat their customers as if they are a nuisance, which goes against everything that I'm used to from quality business. I used them for a while (due to the fact that they are right down my block), but simply couldn't take being treated like I am an inconvenience to them any longer. Never a friendly greeting, frequently a sarcastic attitude, and when I finally felt like I couldn't take it any more I asked why I was being treated with such disdain, I got blamed. If you care at all about being treated fairly as a customer, then do not use Liox. There are plenty of good cleaners throughout Kips Bay who know how to treat the people that support their business... this place however, is not one of them. read more

Please someone contact me. I have tried contacting via email and phone multiple times and no response. Can't even get a hold of someone. First off, my delivery was scheduled between 10am- 12pm when I was going to be home, no one ever showed. At around 7:30pm I received a call from my delivery guy saying he was at my apartment. Of course no one was there so he just left it out side my door!! Where others can take my items !! Luckily they weren't stolen BUT they also ruined a great deal of my items. I had very expensive articles of clothing set a side in a separate bag to be hung dried (like they say you're supposed to) and instead they were machine dried so now some are ruined! I'm very upset and am requesting a full refund at this point. I will consider removing this review if someone would maybe answer my request. read more

I have given them three shots at being the amazing laundry service that the other reviews claim. They failed miserably each time. First time, my whites were ruined. Pink stain all over them even after I requested "separate and bleach." Second time, several items missing. Third time, delivery was hours late. I work days in my regular job helping clients and nights in the hospitals helping New Yorkers. I was having problems with laundromats in my area because they didn't do drop off anymore and you had to make an appointment to wash clothes. On my third load using Liox Cleaners, they sent me a random person's v-neck, one piece of another person's sock, and lost a pair of socks of mine. I've contacted them about the lost socks and extra clothes, we'll see what they do to correct this. I really liked those socks, and I had only worn them once :'( UPDATE: They gave me $5 credit for my socks. They haven't been able to find it, though. Will update my review after a few more loads to see whether they lose more of my stuff, and/or I get more articles of clothing owned by other people. read more

Absolutely do NOT use this service. I had just about the worst experience with this company. For starters, upon placing your order, you are not informed at how much it is per pound of laundry (I only JUST was able to find this on the very very VERY bottom of their website). Additionally my drop off time was set for 7am-8:30am on Sunday. With no contact or anything, my laundry was not delivered. I wasn't contacted until nearly 3:00 PM to be told that they were "understaffed" and that they have to deliver it at 7-9 PM. Fine understood. The laundry arrives, I take it out the bags and I had paid EXTRA for bleaching, none of my white socks are clean, they all look identical to how they looked when I sent them, and even worse, my clothing is absolutely RUINED. All of the white garments I sent to be bleached are now yellow, the armpits are all bright orange/yellow and completely ruined on quite expensive items. Will provide pictures below as well. This is horrifying to me considering I was charged $80 only for my laundry to be destroyed, and not delivered on time with 0 contact to me until much later. Hands down the best dry cleaning and wash service I've used. I love that their default detergent is Tide and that they also give you the option of alternative detergents that are eco- and sensitive skin friendly. The convenience of their pick up and drop off service (that can be scheduled with the click of a button on their surprisingly efficient website) is also a huge plus. I do wish some of their dry cleaning services were a little more reasonably priced but, overall, Liox has saved me tons of time and keeps my favorite garments fresh, preserved, and pressed. read more

I love this place, I've been using them for three years now and they never disappoint. They pick up from your apartment and drop off, one time the man even tried to convince me to put more laundry in my bag because he wanted me to get my moneys worth (which would just mean more lbs for him to carry, but he was happy to do it)! They allow you to choose your laundry detergent and have the option to have up to three items hand washed if you desire (may need to double check the site but i believe its three items). I'll admit that the hardest part of moving to New York City was accepting the fact that I would no longer have a washer and dryer in my apartment. I was SO paranoid about using a laundry service, but once I found Liox Cleaners everything changed. Not only is ordering pickup/delivery incredibly easy with their online form, but my clothes are washed PERFECTLY every single time. My boyfriend and I have been using them for over a year now and are 100% happy. Their customer service is amazing too -- I once had a minor issue and when I brought it to their attention I was refunded my money immediately and given a heartfelt apology! They allow you to give specific instructions (i.e. wash in cold water) and they actually follow them. My BF loves the hang dry option for his work shirts. I love how well they fold everything. Price for wash and fold is $20 per bag (or $35 for two bags) which I think is more than worth it since I know I can trust them. The only reason I'm giving 4 out of 5 stars is they seem to have an odd way of folding towels and napkins in that there is no consistency whatsoever. It seems the goal they have is to fold everything so that it fits a particular dimensional footprint so everything fits into their bags easily. This isn't a biggy, but I thought it was weird, imagining if I was folding the towels on the other side, I would choose a standard way to fold (quarters, thirds, then halfs ... something?) and stick with it throughout the process. The only reason they don't get 5 stars is because they have this weird delivery thing where it has to be within a certain time window (I'm almost never home, so within 30 minutes to an hour is best.) and has to be booked online. In terms of actual laundry service they are the best- they let you choose non-smelly detergents, they air dry things, they allow things to hang dry (unheard of) and I've never had anything ruined at all. Did a load of laundry with them, unlike the rest they charge by bag and weight. So if you have the time to pack and squeeze lots of stuff in, you win. I like their option of choosing different types of laundry soap, so far my clothes have been folded v nicely and came back smelling clean and fresh. This was my second time using Liox. The first, I had no issues and I was satisfied, likely because I did not have to deal with customer service. This time around, it took TWO DAYS to get my laundry back. I get that they can be busy and thats understandable, what is not ok is not updating me at all about my laundry and not being available by phone (despite having a phone number listed) and taking hours to respond to email, if at all. Delivery: As someone who does everything Online, I was so happy to find Liox Cleaners when I moved to Chinatown and searched for a full service laundry facility. I'm able to place my order, customize a few options, and schedule pickup/delivery of my wash all Online. It is very convenient. The only reason I subtracted a star was because there is only one person driving the delivery car so if he cannot find parking, I'm required to bring or pickup the clothes to him downstairs. I know that sounds super diva-y, but on a 5th floor walk-up, it just adds a slight inconvenience. Service: The service itself deserves 5 stars. Generally speaking, Liox has been a great laundry service while living in the Murray Hill/Kips Bay area. I love that they pickup and deliver (the next day, unless you pay for rush same day service). My clothes come back cleaner than if I were to do my laundry myself in my buildings units. The fold job is also great and makes it easy to just put everything away quickly. I also think the pricing is reasonable. My only complaint is that there have been numerous times where I have received clothing that was NOT mine...people's gross underwear, raggedy shirts, etc. Makes me wonder what clothing items I have lost at the hands of Liox. read more

They are the best laundry service I have found in Manhattan so far and I have tried quite a few and I am extremely picky about my laundry. I really appreciate that they offer different laundry detergents and seem to actually use the one you select - my laundry always comes back smelling like tide! They offer hang/air dry for no extra charge, which is a huge plus. My clothes always come back neatly folded and they have yet to lose or damage an item. (I count my items before I send them off after losing quite a few items through a different service.) The only downside is that you have to give them a 2 hour window for pickup/delivery which can be an inconvenience at times. However, their pickup/delivery hours start at 5:00AM and go through 10:00PM so plenty of flexibility for customers who work long hours. I've referred quite a few friends to Liox and I know they are just as happy with their service. read more
