I went to this place for years and staff nice enough but had issues a few times with damaged clothes. Wife's expensive jacket was maybe heated too much and caused this odd wrinkles and rough texture . Another coat also . All designer . She was devastated as saved so much to get them. My favorite suit for summer had cleaned and tried on maybe a month later and it was so tight and the pants ripped when I sat it was so tight. It literally shrunk and how is that possible? .. too much heat on that type of suit due to my research with another cleaner and the place I had to buy a new suit.. I asked for an alteration to shorten the length of a curtain, and they promised that they could stitch it up in such a way that it would be reversible, but it would be more expensive. When I got the curtains back, they looked amazing! I was so impressed. I brought them back a few months later and the guy told me that they couldn't be re-lengthened - it turns out that they had cut the curtain in half and lied about it when I got the alteration. So not only did they mutilate my curtain, they also charged me for the expensive alteration. I protested that this wasn't right, and before I even asked for a refund the owner got up in my face asking "what do you want to do" like I'm going to fight him over a curtain. After I asked for a refund he cussed me out of the store - clearly unprofessional and frankly very deceitful. Ultimately if you need dry cleaning services it doesn't matter that much, but these guys are cons and the owner needs to check his head if he's trying to pick fights with people a foot taller than him over nothing. read more

Super impressed! I took my wedding dress here to get dry cleaned. Of course the dress is important to me, but I got it for super cheap so I really didn't want to pay a ridiculous amount for dry cleaning. After being quoted a ridiculous amount at three other locations, I was quoted about 1/3 of the price at Hill Cleaners. I was thinking it would only be 1/3 effective, but they did an excellent job and I am very pleased! Even all of the layers of the hem that was dragged on the floor, all white and clean. read more

Hills really came through! My daughter was moving in her dorms and they laundered her bedding the same day I dropped it off! I brought all of my expensive work stuff here. Few weeks when I decide to wear my favorite white shirt, I noticed it is all yellow and discolored- seems they poured bleach over it. They did the same with my duvet cover... poured bleach all over something that did not require bleach and my duvet cover is absolutely destroyed. I am EXTREMELY disappointed. I never write bad reviews but I am so dissatisfied. There is absolutely no way to reverse what they did and for that my stuff is destroyed. Definitely do not recommend read more

White clothes come back dingy even though I separate them and leave a note for them to be bleached. black clothes come back covered in lint. When I called about it before they said sorry. When my laundry arrived yesterday it was covered in lint again. The person over the phone says, " it's your pets" You're a laundry service this is All part of your job. If I wasn't in such a rush to have a pair of pants tailored I would never have gone to Hill Cleaners... the service is AWFUL and does not put the customer first. I asked the tailor for a simple alternation to take two inches off a pair of unlined pants... simplest alternation possible and when I was quoted $18.00, I asked them to be considerate of the fact that not only am I returning customer, but also that this was simple and straightforward. The guy behind the counter told me to take it or leave it that this was standard price and it was up to me if I wanted to have it tailored at all. I was appalled by his bravado and gall to be so unaccommodating and disrespectful. It was RUDE and ARROGANT. WILL NEVER GO BACK. The price is right. Generally fine except the ironing on shirts is very sloppy. The collar is supposed be ironed along with crease; instead, it looks like a machine just flattened it such that when worn it looks really sloppy. A tie could hide the fact it's not ironed correctly but I don't wear a tie. It looks like a spread collar because they flatten it vs ironing it with the natural crease read more

Never had a problem with my dry cleaning here, and they're always on time. Nice staff. The tailor is great. I came in one morning on my way to work to fix a loose button loop on my sleeve cuff, and he fixed it on the spot in less than five minutes. Very convenient location close to the subway and two blocks from my building. Prices are comparable to what I pay in Long Island. The actual dry cleaning process is done offsite, so if you need something done the same day, get there that morning. read more

A friend recommended this cleaners as it is close to our office for bridesmaids dresses that she had to get altered previously. I brought in a bridesmaids dress to get hemmed and slightly taken in and a jumpsuit that needed to be taken up at the straps. The jumpsuit cost $20 which I didn't feel was unreasonable. The bridesmaid dress cost $180. When checking out I was shocked and told them that I have been to other cleaners in the city who have performed the same services for around $100-$125. They told me this was standard Manhattan pricing. I asked the other bridesmaids what they had spent and and it ranged for $35 for hemming to $100 for hemming and taking in. When I went to pick up my dress I politely asked them if they were sure this price was correct and quoted the other costs. They not only questioned me asking if the other services were in Manhattan but when I told them yes downtown, they responded with "well this is midtown..." Not sure what that means, but I know I will never be going here or recommending anyone to here again. read more

Was visiting from out of town and staying at the Omni Berkshire on 52nd and 5th. I needed laundry done desperately the day before Thanksgiving. We were going to New Jersey for the day and were not going to be able to pick the laundry up at the end of day. The rep offered to have the laundry dropped off at our hotel and when we returned at midnight, my laundry was washed, folded and waiting for me! Great service! read more

I'm not sure why everybody is giving this place negative reviews. I live right around the corner and use this cleaners often. They offer pick up and delivery of your laundry and dry cleaning and are always very quick. I have only once ever had to wait more than 10 minutes. They never mess any of my clothes up either which is a plus. They may not be enthusiastically and overwhelmingly nice and excited to greet me, but they have never been rude either. They do their job and they do it well. As far as price, I am not originally from NY and this is my first experience with sending my wash out, but I don't tend to find it over priced. read more

They are also extremely helpful (I'm super messy), especially when I need something in a rush they are always reliable. Don't take anything here to be tailored. I just returned from paying almost $50 for them to repair a small hole in a sweater as well as a pair of pants, but the hole in the sweater is still clear - it was barely sewn over at all and does not match the quality of the rest of the sweater. The pants are fine, but also not a great job. Very disappointed, especially knowing I'll have to have it all redone by someone more competent again very soon. read more

Don't take anything of value here! Horrific (non-existent) customer service. The people at the counter (including the owner!) are unbelievably rude. When the National Cleaners Association certified that my black label Giorgio Armani suit was not made of defective material, but was damaged by their dirty dry cleaning solvent, they refused to try to fix it and screamed at me.
