Since moving to the neighborhood I've been coming here for laundry and while I like that it's close and cheap, this place is DIRTY. Every surface has dust on it and the walls are so dingy. The final straw for me was seeing a dead roach on the floor (pic included). The existence of the roach isn't the problem (it's nyc), but the fact that it's dead just lying on the floor shows just how little they care about cleanliness and customer perception. Plus, most of their bigger machines are broken and only being able to use coins can be annoying at times... 2 stars instead of 1 bc they're the cheapest I've found and have chairs to sit in (which not all have!) To all the people doing wash and fold--just because you don't sit in and see the dirty place doesn't mean your clothes aren't in there! read more

I used the laundry service and was impressed by the ease of drop off and the swiftness of the work. I dropped off early evening. Be aware it is pay up front - cash only. They give you a receipt for your laundry and you will need that to pick up the laundry so don't lose it. I was able to pick up the laundry as early as 8:30a the next day. They offer same day service as well. I believe the last drop off of the day was 7pm. They folded everything nicely and put it back in the bag I took with the laundry. There was no funky soap smell or anything. It was $15 for my bag of laundry. He didn't open or count the pieces in the bag just quoted a price. It was 18 pieces of laundry and four pairs of footies. Fantastic - Everything in New York is so expensive. We were brutalized coming from Australia with the exchange rate. This place was so inexpensive and so great they returned us a cube of plastic wrapped clothes and they did it quickly for us which was very kind of gracious of them. This laundry service is great and the folding is exceptional. The convenience is truly unbeatable with the one caveat that somehow, one of my white shirts got ruined (see attached photo). This didn't happen to any of my other lighter colored clothing (they all looked great) so I just wanted an explanation on why this was the case. This is worth it for $20 but this white shirt cost around $20, so I would say this instance my experience was a little ruined by that one road block. If it were possible to get a refund, or to get a complimentary service in the future, I would say this place has exceptional service. read more

I was staying a hotel nearby in midtown, it would've cost me hundreds of dollars to get my laundry done at my hotel, instead I paid $22.50 plus tip to get two loads of laundry (like 16lbs) washed and folded. It's great they are open on a Sunday, I dropped my clothes off around noon and they were done by six same day, very impressive. My clothes were neatly folded and clean. Not sure if they actually separated my whites like I had requested, but my clothes looked and smelled clean and everything seems to be undamaged and accounted for. I wouldn't hesitate to go back if I had to do laundry while visiting NY again. I do wish they had pick up and delivery though, I had to walk like half a mile each way hauling my laundry in the summer heat, it wasn't fun. Terrible customer service! I got there with two medium bags of sheets and asked if they could wash in an hour and a half. The lady asked why I would like this so quickly and I said that I would need to go to another job since I am a house cleaner and my client is traveling so I should pick up the laundry, make the beds and go to another job. I said I would overpay for the quick service if the want it. The lady agreed. But as soon as She gave me the receipt she said I should be back in 2 hours and I said "but you said that an hour and a half was ok". And the other guy who was working with her started to yell at me and offend me. I had a bad time there and I was very nervous and offended. I was being polite and he started shouting bad words to me. Decided to try out Mr Green Laundry after looking at the reviews of the laundry services in the area. Paid 18.50 for 13.5lbs worth of clothes, which is a decent price. The photos with the pricing 3 years ago seems to be outdated. Popped by between 3-4pm on a Saturday and was told to pick up after 8pm. They have a scale at the side of the counter where they measure the weight in the spot, which was accurate to the weight i measured my clothes at home. There's no options on the ticket they give you to pick up your laundry, I just told him I wanted cold wash and low dry which he wrote onto the ticket. Paid in cash at the time of the drop-off. Clothes came back feeling clean and neatly folded, only thing was the dress pants weren't folded along the usually fold lines, but nothing hanging it up in the closet won't fix. I enjoy dropping off and picking up my washing from Mr Green Laundry. Alice (generally works day shift) and Terence (generally works night shift) are both helpful and considerate. Clothes are washed on-site, resulting in a super quick turnaround time (a few hours) which is better than nearby competitors (i.e. they will send it to an outside contractor, you will need to wait 48 hours to get your clothes back). They are great at folding (always perfect) and they use light/unscented detergent which I prefer (i.e. nearby competitors use strongly scented stuff that is overpowering). The prices are affordable (i.e. in line or cheaper than nearby competitors in the area) and they have much better availability (i.e. open 7 days a week with wide opening hours versus 6 days a week with limited hours of nearby competitors). They are cash only which I find a bit frustrating (i.e. I have to take an envelope of cash with me given this is the only business I frequent that is a cash only business). I would prefer there be some flexibility (e.g. open a credit account and pay cash at the end of each month for services used or pre-pay in order to put new charges against the prepaid balance). They don't do pick-up or delivery which is also a downside (i.e. gets heavy to walk my laundry over once or twice a week, remember to go pick it up). Overall, given the super quick turnaround time + competitive prices + high quality, I remain very comfortable still giving Mr Green Laundry a 5 star rating despite the cash-only nature + lack of pick-up/delivery. read more

He may seem rough around edges at first, but he is really sweet. I've been helped by the gentleman numerous of times and he's always answered any of my questions and even gave me some laundry advice once.
