Not sure if they're the cheapest, but definitely friendly, take card, were able to turn around the cleaning over 1 weekend and the suit and dress shirt I had cleaned came back really nice. My partner and I have been going to Eddie's for the past three years. I've always considered the service satisfactory until I went to them to replace a zipper on a leather jacket. The jacket was inspected, a price was agreed-upon and I was given a slip. When returning to pay and collect the garment, they told me that they had to move the buttons next to the zipper because there wasn't enough space. I was charged an additional $20. I understand that miscalculations and mistakes happen however I was not called or notified about this added work and charge before hand. This inflation in the price was unreasonable and I should've been notified because I would've canceled the order. I will never be going back to Eddy's because they do not honor there prices. That is no way to do business. I will start going to one of the many other cleaners in the area and I suggest you do the same. They have violated my trust as a customer. read more

Heidi,does want she wants with your laundry as she pleases and charge you for it,even you specifically give her instruction. I sent out some sheets to launder by Eddy Cleaners one of the fitted sheets was not washed but they folded it nicely and charged for it. Heidi and her family are very dishonest people. read more

I have been going to Eddy's for two years. Their service has always been exceptional - prompt delivery, courteous staff and great at what they do. The other night, however, they went way above and beyond the call. As I was walking to drop off my dry cleaning during a storm, I slipped and fell on ice several doors down from Eddy's. I landed on my face, and was completely disoriented and bloodied. Eddy Jr. came out of the store, saw me down the block on the ground and helped me inside his store. He sat me down, gave me loads of paper towels, got me water, and made sure I remained seated for as long as it took to get my bearings - despite the fact they were minutes away from closing. I finally came to and called my wife, who took me to the hospital so I could get stitches to basically sew my face back together. Eddy Jr. knew me by name, and his kindness and genuine concern, frankly, came as no surprise. Eddy's is a top-notch establishment - when it comes to service and when it comes to hospitality. We used Eddy on and off for about 5 years. We did move during the time and tried another few places closer to our new home however non-compared. Eddy's picks and delivers promptly to our building. The few times that I do like to go in person it's worth walking to get my clothes back in one piece. Everything is done on premisis so there is none of the blame game saying the guys in LIC ruined your clothes like the drop shops. I highly reccomend Eddy's. read more

(FWIW, ME: UES resident and laundry service customer for over 35 years. Used one service for 20 years until they messed up and refused to reimburse us for the garments. Used another, Effi's on 62nd st for years and they were amazing. Then they retired. We miss them.) I hate posting bad reviews. But we have had it with this service. On their best days of service, they are on par with most mediocre laundries. That means barely passable, but even that I could live with. Listed in increasing levels of bad business practices: 1. They take longer to to get the work back than any service I have used. Ok, I can live with that. But they usually are even later than promised, sometimes by a full day. 2. The people on the phone are nice, but their ESL is a hurdle to get accurate information from. 3. Unlike other services, they don't use caller ID, so I have to give them my whole address every time I call. (Others pick up the phone and immediately just say "Hi, are you ready for pickup now?") 4. Their laundry work is mediocre. Socks only match up about half the time. And are mismatched about 20% of the time. Folding is ok, but items are not organized all that well. 5. They sometimes put the laundry into a plastic bag, and then into the laundry bag. And sometimes not. But worse, they have done it with still damp laundry a number of times resulting in mildew smelling clothing. Gross. 6. LOSS OFF CLOTHING: OTHERS. We have received other people's clothing back in our order. And after speaking with Eddy to retrieve it, they have not bothered to. 7. LOSS OF CLOTHING: OURS. We have also had clothing gone missing with them, and have spoken with Eddy and put in for reimbursement. Nothing ever came of it. 8. BLEACH STAINS: We have had at least 5 or 6 items come back with what appears to be bleach stains, ie the color is burned out. I spoke with Eddy, and even sent over the items. He promised to reimbursement, but never did. 9. OVER-CHARGING: This is the final straw. We sent a number of items for hand laundering and instead got billed for dry cleaning. 10. DOUBLE BILLING: After the over-charging, we went back to review their bills to us and found out they had been over charging us in two ways. First off, the bill they sent back with the laundry did not always match what was billed to our credit card!!! And we got DOUBLE-BILLED to our credit card. Two bills of $59 for bulk laundering, within a few days of each other!!! I have never sent out bulk laundry that should be over $30-ish. I have never gotten a $59 bill. Let alone twice in the same week!!! WE ARE DONE WITH THIS SERVICE. ======== FOLLOW-UP: We went back further in our credit card records and found another double billing for $129 (twice!) within a few days of each other. My wife called and got on the phone with Eddy, who I could hear on the phone respond with "If you don't like our service, go somewhere else." Totally rude and refusing to addesss the issue of the overcharging at all, or a refund. I got on the phone with him and explained that the next morning I will be on the phone with the DA's office if this isn't resolved. That focused him. He claimed that he did not keep records and did not even know what we were charged. This is ridiculous as all he has to do is check with his merchant account bank. Our credit card company was notified and they refunded our overcharges. read more

I have been very happy with the convenience and quality of Eddy's Laundry and Cleaners. While I have not used Eddy's for their Laundry Service, I have been taking my dry cleaning here for about 4 months thus far and have been very pleased with the crisp press and quality cleaning. They will also deliver if you live close by for no extra cost which saves me quite a bit of time and hassle. You can often give them a deadline (within reason) for your clothes and they will do everything they can to meet it. The only hitch I have had is that once when I asked to have my dry cleaning delivered and I had a relatively large time window to get my clothes back I did not demand a certain date. It was never delivered, I called them to ask for the status of it, they said it would be out for delivery that morning, and then the next day I had to go to Eddy's and just pick up my clothes. While I feared the worst (them losing my clothes), the inconvenience this caused me was minor in the grand scheme of things. Overall, a good cleaning and pressing at a decent price. Super sweet owners who stayed open late on a Saturday so I could drop my huge bag of long overdue "Dry Clean Only" clothes off! Pricing is on par with most other cleaners in the city. I dropped off 11 items (including silk and leather) and total damage was $80. Took about 5 days for me to pick it up (including a Sunday), so turnaround wasn't too bad. They did a great job at packaging up the clothes too! read more

It's because of these previous (misleading) reviews that I used Eddy's to begin with and am now regretting it!!!! I don't want anyone else to have their clothes ruined by Eddy's which is why I'm writing this review! I have used Eddy's laundry and dry cleaning services for the last 3 or 4 months... with each load of laundry that came back there were at least 2 shirts that Eddy's ruined - the shirts were returned with holes in the same spot on each shirt. After about 8 of my shirts were ruined, I made the connection that it must be something Eddy's is doing since the shirts would go to the wash and fold without holes and come back with holes. Eddy's refused to acknowledge my concern and said that I must have made the holes myself. I sent them one more bag of laundry and called them beforehand to tell them that this was their last chance. I also let them know that I examined every shirt and none of the shirts had holes in them and that's the way I'd like them returned to me - without holes. Not to my surprise, the shirts came back with holes in them!!!! Now I was positive that Eddy's made the holes. I called them to complain and they had the nerve to say that the holes were already there and that I must not have noticed the holes because they were small - the shirts were brand new and there weren't any holes in them until Eddy's washed them!!!! Besides the holes - EDDY"S DOES NOT USE SOAP!!!!! All of my clothes still looked dirty and didn't smell clean!!!!!!!!!!!! They're dry cleaning sucks as well!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I sent them a dress to them twice and they weren't able to remove the white wine stains - they gave me the dress back with the white wine stains on it twice. I took the same dress to Craft cleaners (on 57th) and the stains came out! Eddy's is by far the WORST cleaners I have ever been to in NYC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We just moved to the area and have already experienced their great service! We had 4 very large bags of laundry for both wash/press and basic laundry service. Not only were they willing to quickly pick up and delivery the heavy bags on a moments notice, but they also came amazingly organized, freshly clean and nicely folded. In addition, Mrs. Chin (the co-owner) is a very friendly lady and offers very good rates compared to others in the neighborhood. My wife and I will be loyal customers! read more

Unless you want to have your shirts torn apart, I would STAY AWAY from this dry cleaner!! This is the THIRD shirt that got ripped up by Eddy's. At first we thought it was because the shirt was old, but this is a brand new designer shirt only worn a few times, and my husbands favorite shirt, that was destroyed with a giant hole in the arm!! So disappointed:(:( This has clearly happened before at Eddy's and they need to figure out what the problem is. The young, tall, and skinny Asian man with the white tee shirt on who works here tried to tell me that my dog was peeing on his flowers today. I know how to curb my dog for one. The dog peed half way on the concrete and half on the mulch, totally outside of the fence surrounding the flowers. This would have been impossible. Secondly, he came out of his shop and followed me all the way to my apartment. I just want to say that my dad passed away in December, and our two dogs just moved here from out of state, and they mean everything to me! If this unprofessional, awful employee of yours tries to do anything vindictive to harm my animals, the police are already notified, as I have everything saved as a video on my phone. I have a video with the employee outside of the shop front, and him acting crazy taking his phone out to take pictures of me as if I did something wrong. I notified the police that stand on the corner and I am notifying the local precinct right once I'm finished with this review. We both exchanged words out of anger, which wasn't right on my part, but very unprofessional of him to be swearing at me on the clock. I would have been fired from my job on the spot. This establishment clearly hires the mentally ill and I will not tolerate any type of disrespect or harm to myself or my dogs. Absolutely wonderful- goes above and beyond! I had dropped off a suit to be drycleaned and had asked that it be ready at a specific time, before my drycleaning usually is. Not only was that not a problem, but to my pleasant surprise, when I arrived home, the suit had been drycleaned perfectly and delivered, well before the deadline that I requested! That was wonderful because my days are so erratic that something could always have come up and made me miss being able to pick it up. Just moved to the area and desperately needed help with our laundry while unpacking our lives. My boyfriend called this place and talked to Eddy. After he told him our address where to pick up, he asked the price per pound to which Eddy said he didn't know and basically hung up on him without giving any info at all. I called right back and said that we were new customers and needed info. He was a bit nicer to me and told us it was a 1$/pound, which was higher than we wanted, but again, we were desperate. Normally after being treated so poorly we wouldn't have dealt with them, After spending way too much on the laundry, which we feel was completely and inaccurate with the pounds included, everything was stuffed in our bag, and honestly, not everything seemed to be cleaned. Gross. We since found a place locally that's amazing, affordable and everyone is nice, helpful and super quick on picking up and delivery.. Our family has used Eddy's for 6 years for all dry cleaning, alterations and pressing needs. They are fast, responsible, and affordable. It is owner operated and they know and care for their customers. I do not hesitate to recommend this business. (and we tried several in the area when we first moved here.) No one even come close to the care that is given your clothes by Eddy's. On the very rare instance that a spot might still be on an outfit, they immediately take it back and re-clean it for free. I read the other reviews of this place and was very dissatisfied. I called to have my laundry picked up at 7:15 AM, and when I came home at 5:30, it was not ready. Not only that, it hadn't been touched. They guaranteed me the next day, but I had sent it in for a weekend conference and ended up having to rethink everything I was packing.
