So I just moved to the upper east side and needed a new cleaner. Did my yelp search and found celestial cleaners. I took about 7 pieces for dry cleaning. It came to $75. I think that's exorbitant but maybe it's the average cost in the neighborhood. But that wasn't the issue. When I got my clothes back, the white shirt wasn't even touched. Forget that the stains and ring around the collar were still there but it still had the wrinkles from when it was in my laundry bag. They just rehung it on a hanger and gave it back. I literally paid for nothing actually I paid $10 for a wire hanger. The other clothes are fine, they're clean and the stains out. But there's no quality control here and I don't want to go to a cleaner that I don't trust. read more

There weren't any wrinkles or damages to my dress and the price for the dry clean was really fair as well. I went to this place for about a year. I liked the staff but on multiple occasions, they put other people's laundry in my stuff so I had random shirts and one time, some guy's boxers!! I noticed I was missing one of my favorite shirts and asked them multiple times if they had it. Finally, after 3 months, I went in one time to drop off my laundry and they said they found it in the back. The young man I spoke with couldn't have been more accommodating, taking the time to answer my questions. Celestial protects the clothes, covering the buttons going into the cleaning process, returns the clothes with tissue in the sleeves so that the clothes keep their shape. I've been going to celestial for over 2 years now. I originally used them because they were opened 7 days a week and the prices weren't bad. Over time they have raised their prices, are closed on Sundays and in addition take many religious holidays off. I stopped going during the Holiday time because of the inconvenient hours but decided to go back. My final straw happened last Friday when I called to see when they closed and they said 7pm so I left where I was and hustled to get to the cleaners. I got there at 6:57 and they were no where in sight. When I went to pick up the laundry on Saturday they didn't say sorry - they made an excuse. The other thing that happened was my credit card showed up in the laundry and instead of calling me to notify me that they had found my credit card they let me go crazy looking for it. Needless to say I gave them many chances and need to find a new cleaners now. read more

Very inconsistent quality, ranging from decent cleaning to large ironed-in winkles and burn marks. It seems the only consistency with this place is in how they iron over and break buttons. They do a poor job of getting out basic stains that other cleaners have no problem with. They've ruined several new shirts. Just don't go here. read more

DON"T GO!!!! First, they didn't have any of my 5 items done on time, nor did they call to let me know, so I made the trip for no reason. Second, there is only one person at the desk who is also the delivery person, so there is a good chance you could be waiting a while to speak to a live body (I waited ten minutes to find out they didn't have my clothes). Third, the employees who do the laundry only speak Spanish and talk about you in Spanish (and think you can't understand them, but guess what, we can!). Way too pricey for what you're getting.
