I was quite skeptical of using a wash and fold service, having always done my own laundry but I could not be happier with Capri! The process was so seamless; from calling to schedule pick up, to paying for the order, everything was so smooth and convenient. All my clothes and sheets were folded neatly in a plastic bag, ready to just be tucked away. The staff is also extremely friendly and accommodating. I forgot to mention that I needed detergent for sensitive skin, and even though they finished washing my laundry already, they insisted on doing it again. As other reviews have mentioned, this laundry service constantly adds new rules without informing customers. When I first signed up, I was told it was simple: pay the monthly fee, put my clothes in the bag, and text them for pickup. Over time, they kept introducing new restrictions without prior notice, making the process increasingly frustrating. If they had been upfront about their policies, I would have respected them--but instead, I was repeatedly spoken to rudely whenever I requested service. It got to the point where I genuinely dreaded asking for laundry pickup because I knew that I would be spoken to disrespectfully. The customer service here is shockingly bad. I could go on about the many issues, but here are just a few examples: - They initially told me they would air dry any clothes I placed in a separate bag. Then, out of nowhere, they claimed they never offered air drying. - I was suddenly informed that I couldn't drop off my clothes after 11 AM--something I was never told when I signed up. - I included a small blanket in my laundry, only to be charged an extra $10 without any prior confirmation, simply because it was a "different texture." And the worst part is that their tone over text is consistently rude and unprofessional. Whoever manages customer communications needs serious training in basic customer service. Actually the worst customer service experience I've ever had. I've never interacted with anyone so rude either personally or professionally -- even thought we never met in person. My clothes often came back smelling like no detergent had been used, thoroughly wrinkled, or with mystery stains of no traceable. I put up with unreliable service because it was affordable and convenient. However the attitude of the person who coordinates pickup and delivery is so bad that no amount of savings is worth it. The rudest and most irresponsible customer service. Back in August, they completely ruined a shirt (see below). It had very clearly been mixed in with someone else's laundry with some kind of makeup exploding, and it was the only garment like that. Again, they took a week to pick it up and try to fix it, but they never once explained what happened or took any ownership in messing up (I still do not even have the shirt back-I assume it is long gone by now). A few weeks later, they lost expensive Lululemon leggings, but did manage to include a $10 target tank top in my laundry. Again, never any sense of responsibility. We finally settled on returning the bag and me getting the $69 refund, which didn't cover close to the value. It did take me a bit longer to leave the bag, as I was overseas and got stuck with COVID, but as you can see in the attached screenshot, after following up for weeks to be left on read. And again, I have completely given up hope on ever hearing back. While the subscription seems like a good deal, this is the definition of "you get what you pay for"-avoid at all costs. read more

So let me start by saying I initially thought this place was great. The gentleman who I believe to be the owner was very friendly and accommodating, and I visited 6 or 7 times to get my work clothes laundered and they were usually ready same day, as offered by the gentleman. I never pressed for urgency or demanded that they have them ready sooner than offered. It was always a very small load of maybe 4 shirts max, and an apron, and I always asked for them to be hung dry, so as to make it easy for them and to ensure no shrinkage. After several visits, I had an incident where a mysterious red stain appeared on 2 of my white button down shirts. I called to assess what happened, and he initially denied that it could have been their fault, but later he offered to fix them if I brought them in. As I didn't have time that day to come in again, I basically just wrote the shirts off and got new ones. When I came in again to pick up my new shirt from being washed, I was told "they won't be doing this anymore" and when pressed for what or why this is the case, I was simply told "it's my business and we won't be doing this anymore. It's too risky to wash". I can't imagine what would be risky for a laundry service about a few white shirts and an apron, and I had thoroughly enjoyed my times using them prior, so I was very taken aback. I left with my clothes and a very confused headspace, and immediately came to write this. I would have loved to recommended this company to anyone in the area, but I simply cannot in good faith send anyone to them after this. read more

Great spot for same day laundry service! I've been 5-6 times now and Capri is consistently fast and high quality. You can choose detergent type (ex. If you need sensitive detergent) and they have a loyalty punch card with great discounts. Note: one thing to mention is mask wearing here is sporadic around the counter, so that's something to keep in mind if that's important to you. But the good thing is the counter area is in a somewhat open air area, not indoors. Everyone is friendly and helpful. read more

I recently moved back to the city and was nervous to find a good place to do my laundry. It's always a pleasure talking to the workers, they remember your name and always start a conversation with you. Earlier today I dropped my laundry off and forgot I asked them to drop it off, I never got a call confirming, so I assumed I'd get it the next day. DO NOT USE. Absolutely awful experience using Capri Laundry for several reasons. Waited over 3 months to receive a refund on service. When they finally sent the refund they go "Can we drop this now?" as if they weren't at fault. They have stained multiple articles of our clothing. They are extremely rude, told us our laundry can't be over 30 lbs or we will be charged extra when it was no where close to that weight. Final straw was they didn't return my towels and claim they did (never got them back), extremely careless and irresponsible customer service. I found them via the "nextdoor" app, recommended by a fellow UES-er. I will never go anywhere else. I moved to the city in March and during my time here I've tried 4-5 wash and folds. The truth is, no one washes your clothes the way you would. However, Capri gets pretty close! It is super easy and convenient to get my laundry picked up/delivered. I just text them in the morning and they're usually around in a few hours, and I get it back later that day. They are very communicative if they're running behind which I always appreciate. And the ability to chose you're detergent products is nice as well. We had a family emergency and my elder parent needed help. I explained this to the man I spoke to. They agreed to help out our parent. The man even texted me asking if I would like a membership which we said no. We agreed on a time and day for one time service, they would come to help out our elder parent but then they cancelled. First time "no one is available to pick up" second time they cancelled last minute (day after first cancellation) because we are "not members" and we only needed one time service. They are the ones who offered to help out even after We stated we do not want a membership. "Happy to let you try our service" is what the man texted me After I explained the situation. We have a washer and dryer in our families building, we did not want a membership. We had a family emergency and needed help. Please beware, unless you are a "member" paying a monthly fee, you will not be helped. The person I spoke to was very rude. Angelo is the best and just the sweetest human! Very professional as well. The entire staff is so friendly honestly. When I moved to a different area of the upper east side, he said "no problem" and this is when I found out they pickup and deliver all over manhattan! Unfortunately, I made very negative experiences with this business. The owner is extremely rude, especially if you are foreign/not from NY. Setting up pick up is very difficult as the pick up time they give you is often off by many hours. That is very frustrating if you have other things to do. They will take full advantage of you, if you do pick up and cannot control how they process your order. They will not give you an itemized receipt, because they divide your delivery in multiple packages to maximize their prize. Nothing special about this place, many are better. Simply put, this is the BEST laundry service in New York. Affordable and transparent pricing, great customer service, in-house machines-- would give them 10 stars if I could. THE OTHER GUYS: Before discovering Capri, I had tried out half a dozen dry cleaners that send their laundry out to be washed by another company. My clothes would frequently come back not clean or smelling like chemicals, I would randomly get other people's socks, things would return shrunk or stretched out in weird ways, et cetera. I have never, EVER had any of these problems with Capri. CAPRI LAUNDRY ROOM: The pick up and drop off services are great, the pricing is very reasonable and transparent, and they offer some great and hard to find specialty services such as a hang dry option (particularly useful for super delicate articles) and spot treatment. I once took in a white button down shirt with a HUGE red stain on it-- 99% sure that anyone would tell me that there was "nothing that could be done." I got the shirt back from Capri WHITER THAN THE DAY I BOUGHT IT. It was amazing. Even if you already have a "go-to" cleaners in the City, do yourself a favor and give Capri a go-- they are truly the best. read more

I switched from my usual laundry to Capri. Great service and every fifth wash equals $5 off. Every tenth wash equals $20 off.

I called ahead to make sure that they could do same-day service. They told me that they could if I brought my laundry within the hour. I did that. On arrival, I asked them for a price. They took the laundry, did something with it (presumably weighed it), and gave me a price of $34. Based on their price structure of $14 for the first 10 pounds and $1.20 for every remaining pound, that would mean the laundry is between 26 and 27 pounds. I asked for a receipt of weight and the Spanish-speaking employee pretended not to understand. I asked again and got the same response. Then, being a Spanish speaker myself, I switched to Spanish and the employee shiftily told me that they don't have a scale on site. I then asked them (again in Spanish) how they could calculate a price without a weight and they just shrugged - as if to say "you got me. What now?" They simply told me it would be $34 and that I could pick it up after five. I agreed and left. Upon leaving, I called the company manager and I asked the same question vis-à-vis price and weight and why it was that, if they had a scale at the location, they couldn't provide me with the weight but could still provide me with a price. In response, the manager got salty and told me that he doesn't want my business and that I can go pick up my laundry. He also explicitly volunteered (without it being suggested otherwise) that his was an honest operation...which is - per the experience of many a former soldier and cop - usually a telltale giveaway. I asked the manager what I did to draw his ire and he refused to respond. This was in spite of the fact that I went out of my way to make sure that he could accommodate my order, that the laundry was not light, and that it had to be carried a long distance (and I had told him as much). I had also agreed to pay the inflated $34 price tag. Nonetheless, I went back and picked up my laundry and then took it to a different dry cleaner. To eliminate even the semblance of a doubt, I asked this dry cleaner to weigh it. Their scale registered 23 pounds and not 27. What should've been a $26 bill was presented as a $34 bill. The Capri Laundry Room at 343 East 66th St at the intersection of First and 66th on Manhattan's UES surreptitiously inflated the stated price by 30%! This company is not just rude. It is hostile and predatory. The people running it are petty scammers. They will steal your time, your money, and your peace of mind - and possibly also destroy your clothes while they're at it. They will do so constantly but on such a small scale that it isn't worth the time to get into a dispute. Stay far away. read more

First time using Capri and just went to pick up my wash & fold. The ticket clearly showed the total was $14 and the kid ringing me up looked at the ticket then tried to charge me $18. I was going to Capri Laundromat for 3 years before I moved. Not only are Angelo and Matilda (and their family) wonderful people, but they take incredible care of your clothes, sheets, towels etc! I trusted them with anything and everything. They also text you when your laundry is ready for pick up (which is so convenient)! I regret not saying a proper goodbye before moving, they are just that personable and lovely! During the height of the pandemic last year, they stayed open and were probably the only people I saw on a regular basis last summer. They were like family. They're super easy to get in contact with for pickup/delivery and my clothes always come back so neatly folded and smell amazing. Lost my laundry. First said simple mix up, and when the person who got mine returned it, all would be well. 5 days later, they then say they OUTSOURCE the laundry to a third party, and they lost it. Do they have a tracking system? No. Do they have a phone number I can reach them? No. Their response? Give me a few weeks, hopefully it turns up. Demanding cash. They offered no solutions.
