I don't usually review fast food places, but felt the need to in this case. I was in the area for an appointment, and looked online to see what Lion's Choice offered. The Cluckin' Hot Chicken Tender Sandwich both looked and sounded fantastic, so I decided to stop in after my appointment and order one. Now I know, along with everyone else, that it's not going to be as great in person as what's advertised, BUT.... I've NEVER seen such a HUGE difference between advertised and real life!!! We came on a Sunday evening at 8:30 pm. I was met by a worker who informed us immediately. "we close at 9." I said , "well good then, we've got 30 minutes. They had already taken all the condiments away from the dining room, no iced tea or lemons like other Lions Choice restaurants provide. No Au jus in the dining room. Soda machine was turned off. When we ordered our food , we told him we needed garlic aoli on the side, Au jus, banana peppers and ketchup. We didn't get any of these! My hubby went to a he counter 5 times to keep getting the condiments!!!! Actually it ruined our dining experience! By the time he retrieved everything, his food was cold! The fresh veggies were terrible, tastes like they'd been sitting for a few days!! Never ever will patronize this location again. Your counter employee needs a Come to Jesus meeting!! read more

The food quality was very low. $9.00 for the equivalent of sandwich smaller then a McDonald's hamburger. Although the quality was better than McDonald's the turkey sandwich advertised with trimmers was absent with my order. I refuse to order from there again. read more

An otherwise good experience was marred by noisy alarms frequently going off, and a counter employee shouting to be heard over building renovation. Our oder was correct but it took a few tries to confirm it with the counter clerk due to the plexiglass shield separation and nearby noise. This location has staffed credit union offices in one corner, and an ATM outside. read more

"It's gonna be a while, cause we got a lot of stuff we gotta do"...... that was the greeting my husband and I received as we waited to order our lunch. It was about noon on a Saturday, and we were staying at a nearby hotel. A young man yelled that " greeting" from the back of the kitchen. The good news is...... our roast beef sandwiches were very tasty. There is a sauce bar where you can sauce your sandwich as you wish. Fries are the thin shoestring variety. They were delicious. You don't get very many fries, however, and we ordered large. Had we not been yelled at, I would have given 5 stars. read more

I'm sorry. I wrote the first review on this Lions Choice when it opened. I gave it five stars. It was EXCELLENT. But I just ate (half) of the worst lions choice sandwich I've ever eaten. It was tough to the point of being inedible. I don't understand. In addition, the last two times I went there I didn't get all the food I ordered. Last time I went back and they fixed it. This time I didn't return because it was so bad I wouldn't have eaten it anyway. I've started driving to other locations to get my LC fix. I sincerely hope they do something because I'm actually going to the Arbys across the street when I want to go to this lions Choice. Please fix it. read more

Went today for only the 2nd time and I was shocked when I opened the bag. I ordered 2 Italian Beef sandwiches and 2 baked potatoes. The sandwiches were good but extremely small and we added chili for an extra $1.00 to the potato and we maybe got a tablespoon of chili. With an added medium drink and very small fry the total was $29.00 I was still hungry after our meal. The staff were friendly but it just wasn't worth the cost/quantity ratio. So sorry but we won't be going back to Lions Choice. read more

A truly remarkable and surreal experience. We were looking for a quick lunch traveling through St. Louis, and I recommended Lion's Choice, because it's good, quick, and one of the few fast food restaurants I know of a where Ex-employees will still eat the food. Initially we thought it was odd that a Lions Choice would be connected to a bank (Simmons bank of Pine Bluff, Arkansas), but when we walked in was when all logic stopped and we saw that the two business are one in the same. The vestibule has a night deposit slot. The waiting area for the bank is adjacent to the soda fountain/condiment bar (including ketchup, sweet BBQ, smoky/tangy BBQ, chipotle ranch, honey mustard, and horseradish). You can fill out a mortgage application while you wait for your roast beef sandwich and sit in the immaculately clean dining area, or the sittable 4-sided chair in bank conveniently out-fitted with a desk arm, cup holder, and numerous charging ports. We go to order at the phantasmagorical counter, ask a few questions about the menu, and had easily the most friendly, helpful fast food cashier we've ever encountered. (Her name is Patty, and she was lovely; FYI the classic is 4oz. of meat, the King is 5.5 oz.) The meal was delicious, the restrooms were clean. The soda fountain has pellet ice. We have gone there 2 times this month. My husbands sandwich was sloppy,, and was not cut all the way thru. The second time the condiment bar was a mess. We both got diet coke and they were flat. I've never had Lion's choice before and came here because we had a free cone coupon. I came here mainly for my toddler to get free ice cream lol. We were in the area so why not. The restaurant is very clean inside and out shared with a bank. It's the former Tim hortons. The entire staff working was super friendly, friendliness level of chic-fil-a. I'll definitely be back here when I'm ready to try their other food. read more

My absolute favorite! Every time I come back to the St. Louis area I find one and pig out. Even take some to go when I leave.

This place was steps away from our hotel! We just had to get a small thing - soup. Didn't realize they were closing in like a minute. When we realized it I totally thought they were going to say 'we're closed'... but just the opposite. A great young man took my order, another made sure I had fresh bread and utensils (and butter for the bread). So kind...especially at the end of the day. This location is clean and well managed. I got the Italian bread sandwich and i've never disliked something so much. it was as if they took the sandwich and dunked/ soaked it into water i am not exaggerating one bit. the roast beef tasted like raw tuna. the fries were soggy skinny sticks. The coke was even bad. I was starving and when i'm starving i think anything is good but i couldn't even swallow anything here. It was that bad. The soggy sandwich is what really got me. We've ate at multiple Lions Choice Locations throughout the St Louis Metro Area. Hanley(Brentwood area) Check (many times!) South County on Lindbergh Check Chesterfield Valley Check St Charles Rock Road Check Among others. Often pleading with restaurant staff to return to the IL side/metro east as a better alternative to the mystery "A" wheres the beef company! We were very happy when we learned Lions Choice was returning to the metro east after being gone for many years...... Then.... We ate there. Simply Put, NOT The same and more than that NOT as Good. We noticed things like buns tasting stale, and cold, 1/2 piece of cheese per sandwich whereas the St Louis Locations buns are fresh/warm and no skimping! After a multi month hiatus, tonight we gave this location another chance as maybe our previous experience was a fluke! No Such luck, Buns are still cold n stale, and its simply Not as good! SO I guess lesson learned is, If we have a taste for Lions Choice we will have to get it while in STL... and Continue to pretend Lions Choice never returned to IL because THIS is Not Lions Choice Quality read more

Went on Mother's Day to this LC and was NOT pleased. First & foremost was the "attitude" from the workers -- the blank stare when you approach the counter. No smile, no greeting, just a cold look that conveys a message of, "Yeah, whaddya want?" Next up was the roast beef, which was disgustingly rare as in bright red, cold & mushy like a pound of raw meat in the butcher's dept of the grocery store! When I took it back to the counter, the blank stare AND a look of annoyance greeted me. Guess I interrupted their chat about somebody wearing "big a** clothes" & other business matters. Then, we ordered a $6.00 Mac & cheese expecting it to be a large sized portion but to our utter shock it was a tiny, individual portion of about a cup!! To charge $6.00 for this is highway robbery. And I agree with others that the sandwich sizes are SMALL -- thankfully I ordered a "giant" which basically looked like an average size sandwich. LC used to be one of my favorites, even back in the day when it was by the O'Fallon Walmart, but sorry, Todd, I won't be patronizing your business anymore. The worst we have had. Went to the drive thru the lady was nice received our food timely got home to open our sandwiches and this is what we have. See pictures! Called the store and received the voicemail. The sad part is there was no customers there when we went there. Bread is soaked with blood. Meat is raw! I had one of those mornings today. I overslept. I wasn't really late to work but I didn't do anything I would have liked to do before work and that includes eating breakfast. I got to work and they told me we were out of paper towels. Nice. So I left to procure paper towels and decided to get a quick breakfast while I was out. I read that Lion's Choice just opened in O'Fallon in the former Tim Horton's attached to Reliance Bank and that they are test marketing a breakfast menu. Well let's go try that! This is the nicest Lion's Choice I've ever been in. I'm sure they didn't redecorate much from the Tim Horton's. One of the employees sitting outside on break greeted me on the way in! The lady at the cash register smiled and said good morning before she took my order. I ordered the Steak 'N Egg Flatbread Sandwich (with Lion's Choice slow-roasted beef, egg, Swiss cheese, chives, and a special horseradish hollandaise sauce) Meal with green tea and hash browns. Wow, Lion's Choice has green tea! If you like the Lion's Choice roast beef you will like this sandwich. The flatbread was fresh and the horseradish sauce had a little kick to it. The hash browns were crispy and the tea was hot. I'm not telling you to drive all the way to O'Fallon, IL just to try this but if you happen to be in the neighborhood, as I was, this is something tasty and different for a quick breakfast. If this location keeps up the friendly customer service happening right now while the corporate baby sitters are there they will succeed automatically! I'd definitely go back for breakfast. The front line staff is still getting broken in. The food was hot and wonderful as I expect from a lions choice. The only thing was there was a lot of standing around at the front and the tables extremely needed attention. There were 2 clean tables when my family got there and not one time did any tables get wiped down while we were there. You can tell the staff is green and needs broken in a bit. I will be back. Hoping it gets better, not worse Take 2- 2 customers in the place 5 dirty tables and there was a worker mopping. She wiped off one table while she mopped, but left the rest dirty. I ordered a salad and the front line worker didn't ask for my dressing choice. After the rest of my family ordered ordered and we paid. She handed us the cups. I asked if I get dressing with my salad. She reached over the counter and said here's your salad. I thought that maybe the dressing was with the condiments. I turned back around and then said what dressing do you want? I said ranch and tried to hand me Italian. When I said ranch again she seemed annoyed. And again when I asked for a fork she seemed annoyed. Also while we were finishing up our lunch a gal game in for her shift and when they were activating her register she literally said "I don't care, I just want to get the fu$$ on" Not thrilled with this location. I stopped in today to try their breakfast sandwich. Maybe it was because it was 9:45 and they were getting ready to switch to a lunch menu. I was underwhelmed, I ordered the sausage and egg muffin with American cheese. The muffin was cold and the cheese appeared to be out of a can. I won't do breakfast there again. I did have a roast beef sandwich two days before. The beef appeared to be undercooked and was cold as well. I will give them another chance for lunch since I normally love everything on their menu. Today was my first time visiting this location, as it just opened two days ago. Service was fast and friendly, my food was hot and delish, and my order was 100% accurate. I'm sucker for the King combo, and usually can't finish it. Today I got close and am feeling pretty miserable, which is why they only got 4 stars. We are traveling and spotted Lions Choice. We don't have them in East TN. I always like to try restaurants we don't have back home when traveling. I enjoyed my Italian beef sandwich with mild peppers and cheddar cheese. I would have gave it a 5 star but this sandwich deserves to be served as a foot long. I felt the portion needed to be bigger so I went and bought another. I'd love to see Lions Choice make its way into East TN. The restaurant was clean. I don't think the staff knows how to take someone saying thank you as we left. However we managed to get a smile from the front counter. I'll probably visit again before we head back home. read more

This is a pretty hoppin' place! We visited in a Sunday evening. Lot of cars in the drive-through. My wife had a roast beef sandwich meal. I had the Cobb Salad. We finished it off with a mini Oreo concrete. Service was very quick. Food was great and reminded us why we missed the old location over by Wal-Mart. The sandwich was very good as were the fries. My salad was very enjoyable. We liked the concretes, but thought they were a little soft. Still good. There isn't a lot of seating in the dining room. Several folks ate out in the adjoining bank lobby. There are a few tables outside that were in use. The drink dispensers put out chewy ice, and they were getting pretty tapped out so they provided a bucket of ice for diners. Crew told me this was the slowest day since they opened. I love me some lions choice, but since the pandemic hit...this place has really taken a downhill spiral. They have lost a ton of business from me. Service isn't good. Never say hi. Have a good day. This is all your order..nothing. Just hand me the order and close the window. They cram 3-4 king meals in a little bag. I ask for sauces and I never get them(I do however check now before I leave the parking lot). King roast beef sandwiches and fries seem to have smaller portions. Just sad and disappointed my favorite restaurant has come to this. read more
