Not worth at all. Came for the $8.50 lunch buffet on a Monday thinking it would be a great deal. It's not. All of the meats tasted old and frozen with a strange taste to them. The sauces used tasted strange and did nothing to help mask the bad meat. I've grown up going to asian buffets my whole life, and this place just did not cut it. I'm not a picky eater either! This is one of my favorite places to eat when I am in Dallas. The food is delicious; you can tell it's freshly made. The service is great and the workers are always making sure you have everything you need. And to top it all off, it's only $10!!! Like WHAAAT? Who could beat that? You can either go to a regular Chinese restaurant and pay double or triple that for a small plate or you can come here, pay the minimum, and eat as much delicious Chinese food as you want!! You need to have expectations that you're not eating at Capital Grilled Steak House. The food looked fresh and had good amount of items. The sushi was low quality, I would avoid that. Did not do the Hibachi. Rice and noodle offerings, decent dumplings, the egg rolls were tough, fabulous green beans, lots of broccoli and protein dishes that we tasty. (1) Skip the Sushi. It's mainly rice and imitation crab meat. (2) Do eat as much steamed proteins. They are much healthier than their fried counterparts. (3) If you do opt for the Honey Chicken or Sweet & Sour Chicken, grab a few pieces. (4) Skip dessert. You might as well waste calories on real food. (5) No idea why you'd bother with salad anyway. (6) Vegetarians could ask for a special plate since there aren't many vegetarians options. In fact, I don't remember ANY tofu options. (7) Worst case scenario ... Fitness Connection, 24 Hour Fitness, and Lifetime Fitness are all next door in case you eat too much. read more

Very clean and very modern as compared to most Asian restaurants. Music is mellow Asian overtone yet loud enough to mellow out children on a nearby table. Soft drinks are well carbonated and lively. Lin's Asian Buffet has more choices than the typical Chinese Buffet. In addition to Broccoli Beef they have Salt n Pepper Beef. In addition to Sesame Chicken, General Tso's Chicken, and Broccoli Chicken they have Honey Chicken and Kung Pao Chicken. The flank steak is either s slight upgrade to other buffets or just cooked better. Not the typical chewing exercise you would get at most Chinese establishments. In addition to frog legs they have a few seafood delicacies including spicy fish soup, salmon, salt n pepper squid, spicy squid, and 3 different varieties of scrimp. The desserts and fruits are typical Asian fare. The fried banana however was very good per my wife. The sushi buffet area has a few more choices than the typical buffet. Wasabi was fresh and strong. Ice cream actually had a little bit of a cream taste vs the icy consistency most buffets have. It's not as rich (fat) as say you'd get at a DQ or Breyer's. They have a Mongolian grill as well but neither my wife nor I tried it this go around. Service was on time and courteous. Never had an empty soda. I'd put it up with my two other top Chinese Buffets in the DFW. Not impressed. I found the selection to be rather slight, considering the bump on price for it being a Saturday ($12.32, w/drink+ tax). What must it be like on a weekday? Saw an employee dumping new dumplings on top of old ones, instead of properly rotating them. And when one of the dumplings fell into the counter, they just put it back in the pan. Apparently, they subscribe to the "5 second rule" here. You've been warned. I headed here thinking it was a place I had been to before. Turned out I hadn't. And I won't be coming back, either. This place is lucky its doors remain open. I expect a certain standard of service,hygiene, and quality for that for which I am paying. DO NOT expect that from this place. The service was terrible. I was being escorted around the buffet area where my food was being weighed and portion sizes were being measured. Then was told that I would be charged extra for my portion size. I looked around to make sure I was at a buffet, and ensured I was in fact at a buffet. When I sat down to eat my food, I was being stared down by the staff and felt like there were snarky remarks being made as they begun to congregate and look in my direction. Naturally I am not enjoying this one bit, however I choose to ignore the rudeness and differences between myself, of one culture, and the employees of another and conclude that perhaps this is just the way their particular culture conducts themselves in food service related matters. I drew the line at the cobwebs in the corner of the room, dust all around the windows where I was sitting and finally the hair in my meal. When I brought this to their attention, the staff was very rude and accused me of putting the hair there. My response, I suppose I put the dust on your surfaces, the cobwebs in the corner, and the rudeness in your minds as well. I will NEVER eat here again and am shocked at the positive reviews others write about this place. My guess is its their friends who write the positive reviews. I was craving Chinese food and so i saw that this place had just opened and decided to try it out. it was around 8PM and there was quite of few people in the restaurant.......There was some pros and cons with my visit: Pros: -Most of the food was hot and tasted fresh. -The wait staff was very attentive....they picked up plates and refilled drinks promptly. -Nice layout -Nice music -Bathroom was clean Cons: -Some of the food was warm, like it had been setting out for a little while. -The wait staff was very attentive......the would hover around you and if you had just taken your last bite that was on the plate they were there to grab the plate. Very surprised this place has an average 3-star rating, as it's one of the best, cleanest buffets in the area. I went to celebrate my Grandma's 72nd birthday, and we really enjoyed it! Came here on Saturday with my gf.. The place is nice and all and they have a decent amount of selections (typical). Why I am giving this place one star is because I found a chicken bone in their teriyaki chicken. I just broke part of my back left molar on a bone.. Obviously I am done eating once I found the bone.. The wife and I were looking for a Chinese buffet last night and decided to make the trip out to Carrollton to give Lin's Asian Buffet a try. The restaurant is in a strip mall and from the outside looks like it's pretty big, which it certainly is when you come inside. There were 5 or 6 stations along with a hibachi grill and sushi bar. The sushi and rolls didn't appear to be cooled and looked like it had been sitting under a lamp all afternoon. I decided to take 5-6 pieces and try my luck. I felt the rice and to my surprise it was soft, not hard, which showed it was fairly fresh and didn't feel warm so felt a little more confident about it. The wasabi didn't have much bite to it. Next up, the hibachi. Standard selection of veggies such as carrots, beansprouts, onion, along with a few sauces including garlic, sesame oil, and some hot pepper sauce. Finally the meats, of which the trays were almost empty, chicken, steak, sausage, shrimp and scallops. When I got my bowl back to the table I found the food could have maybe done with a minute or two more on the grill. On to the buffet itself. There wasn't anything spectacular or standout about it. I would have liked a little more filling in the crab rangoons, and the most disappointing thing of all, and this is a first, I had a chicken bone in my sesame chicken. On the plus side, the waitstaff were attentive, making sure plates got cleared away and drinks were never empty, and were friendly. There was a nice array of deserts of which I sampled way more than I should have. When I left the restaurant I was feeling very stuffed and somewhat satisfied but having time to reflect, I have really been to better buffets and most likely won't be coming back here, since there really wasn't anything spectacular or stand out about it. Lin's is a BYOB restaurant. In summary, disappointed that there was nothing special, even more so at the chicken bone, friendly attentive staff try to make up for it, but it just falls a little short for me. Love this place and go here about 5-6 times a month! The waiters fill refill your drink as soon as its empty and are very nice about it. The price is cheap and people who come here expecting life-changing Asian food will be disappointed. So first I'm going to start off with I wished there was a 0 star option. The restroom wasn't the best I couldn't wait to just do my business and get out! Next I ordered a sprite and let me say it tasted like carbonated water so even being pregnant I had no choice but a Pepsi. They close at 9 and we got there around 7 something. It was around 8:10ish and the lady there started vacuum around OUR table which first off is rude as if they were kicking us out then just nasty with all the dust and dirt flying around. Next I had to use the restroom and of course they were cleaning them so I couldn't use it! Plus to top it all off THEY SHUT THE LIGHTS OFF ON US! We were sat in the back and they did us like that. Always a great buffet, even when you go 15 minutes before closing! consistent quality and fresh. You can eat really healthy or go for the deep fried stuff. I am half Asian, so I know the good, the bad, and the ugly of it all. This place has a huge buffet, that is very fresh. The variety is very diverse, with a heavy hand on shrimp. The shrimp (I tried several different dishes) is very fresh and tasty. They also have a sushi bar, that I didn't try. Huge salad bar, with good soups. (And for some reason there is pasta. I have no clue what that is doing here.) Overall the food was fresh and pretty tasty, BUT...and for me, this is a big one...the steamed rice was dry and tasteless. Deal breaker for me. Lin's is the only Chinese buffet place I will step into. I don't like Chinese buffets for many reasons. One being it's nasty and not worth the money. Lin's on the other hand is actually pretty good for a buffet. They have sushi, raw seafood, hibachi and the normal buffet food. When we do come here we like to eat up on the raw seafood. I had some and it wasn't that bad but being a buffet it wasn't top notch. I like to eat the sushi rolls and their egg drop soup. Their egg drop soup is the best out of all egg drop soups I've had. The sushi rolls won't fall apart as you try to indulge it. The sushi man does a good job in rolling them. Most of the rolls are cali roll based but there are some sushi as well. If you do eat sushi rolls make sure you eat a plenty amount of ginger to kill bacteria. The buffet area and the seating area are clean. The cooks are constantly filling up empty trays. The servers are on alert and at your service. For $10.99 the price is reasonable. I mean what more can I say but to come out to Lin's if you want to eat at a Chinese buffet. read more

I had needed more water & waited till I saw someone then 30 secs later the lady comes up asking to refill- its as if she read my mind from foots away. So many choices & options. They had discount coupons in the mail (5) of them! So you can keep coming reciving a diff type of coupon for each visit. This was good considering ive been to soo many buffets. Chinese Buffet has several signature dishes that we could taste and determine whether it's good or bad. Sesame chicken and walnut shrimp are good compared with other fast food Chinese restaurant. Their fried rice is ok, their fried finger food is tasty as well. I do like their sushi roll, they tend to season the roll and cover with mayo sauce, which makes it tasty. I do like their presentation of desert. It looks good and appealing. Some sweet stuffs are good but not really outstanding. Fruit is fresh and cut into the right size. I don't think you can ask for more with 10.59 for dinner. They do buffet to-go too, which is varied from 5-8 dollars a box, depends on how much and type of food.
