The Lanzhou beef noodle soup had a rich, comforting broth and the hand-pulled noodles had the perfect chewy texture. We went on a Friday late afternoon. The restaurant was clean, inviting and spacious. There was a good amount of staff on duty and the restaurant didn't seem busy. If you are looking for quantity this is your spot because their portions are large. However, in terms of taste, it missed the mark for all of us. Nothing we ordered came together that well. Some items were too salty others bland and without any real flavor or taste. In all, I've had much better halal Chinese at other restaurants in the DFW area. Additionally, while they had lots of wait staff and overall they were attentive, they seemed maybe a little under trained and not attentive enough to pack or even offer to help pack leftovers for children and we had to ask three times to to get more leftover gear because what we were given was tiny in terms of what we had left on our plates. No one checked on us for water refills or paper towels, so we had to get them ourselves from the main table. Went with my wife to try this place after seeing a review online. We tried the General Tso's and Sweet n Sour chicken which were good, crispy and well portioned. The lamb skewer was also tasty but the spicy wontons in chili oil were probably the most disappointing I've had in a restaurant in a long time. On top of the $11 price tag the wontons were truly not worth it; nearly flavorless meat and the chili oil had no seasonings or spices. The service was average but nothing to really write more about since our waitress never checked on us after we received our food and the ambiance was bright but didn't feel very lively or inviting.
