Onion and radish
Briana N.

I think this might be my new favorite spot for jjajangmyeon! The noodles were so chewy and bouncy, the sauce was delicious, and we got refills on the radish and onions. The tangsuyuk was also pretty delicious! It was nice and crispy and the sauce was piping hot.

I love eating the sauteed seafood on scorched rice! It's so delicious, and the rice is crunchy when you eat it as soon as the seafood is poured into the rice dish! I highly recommend this dish if you like seafood although it is one of the more expensive dishes. It is enough for 3 people in my opinion. The service is good, and the servers were quick taking orders. My family and I didn't wait long for the food to come out. It's a small restaurant with a designated area for large parties, and it's pretty quiet and a bit dim but gives a nice ambiance, I guess. There's a lot of parking, and the restrooms are clean but kind of smells like a hair salon. TL;DR: I love and recommend eating the sauteed seafood on scorched rice. It's quiet and there should be enough seating areas albeit it's a small restaurant.

I was reeeally craving black bean noodles with sweet and sour meat, so we went here. It was quiet on Saturday night at 7pm so we were a little apprehensive but the food was tasty and the ambiance was cozy. The staff was polite and efficient. The portions are healthy. I would say two dishes feeds 3-4 people, so the value is quite decent. The flavors for both dishes were tasty but standard. They're not the best as other places in Carrollton but they definitely warmed my soul and satiated my cravings. The sweet and sour can be beef or pork, regular or spicy, and the jajangmyeon has regular sauce and +$1 options for seafood or minced pork+veggies. The sweet and sour beef we got was tangy and tasty, with deep fried beef and big, tasty chunks of pineapple, carrots and bell peppers. The beef was not super soft but it was also not gristly, so I was happy with it. Note - we got spicy but it wasn't remotely spicy. I don't know if they forgot to make it spicy or the spicy is really not spicy. I'll have to report back next time I go. The black bean noodle was tasty too. It came with pickles and raw onions and extra sauce on the side. The sauce was tasty, especially with the added texture of the pork and veggies. The noodles were reasonable and al dente but not super sproingy like how I prefer them. Overall the experience was good and we'd consider coming back. :)

Fried Dumpling

Very good!! We lucked up on Dong Bo Sung since the place we were initially going had a wait. We came here and were seated immediately. It quickly filled up after we arrived. We placed our drink orders, asked a few questions about the menu, and ordered. We had the fried dumplings, noodles in black bean sauce for 2, spicy chicken, and orange chicken. The noodles in black bean sauce could have been eaten by 3 or 4 people. It was a lot of food, and good food. Everyone enjoyed what they had and we have plenty to take home for another meal. We will definitely be back!

Overall, not bad! I liked their Ganjjajang a lot. Could be the best I've had in DFW so far (but still not as good as the one I'd get in Korea lol). Jjamppong was also pretty flavorful, not too spicy. Noodle texture was also satisfactory. I was not happy with the sweet & sour pork though - the batter was not crispy at all. The sauce was ok but because the pork itself felt soggy, didn't really love it. Service was great - the server lady was attentive and nice. It seemed like she speaks both Chinese and Korean fluently. Impressive!

Fried pork ribs with sweet and sour sauce, dumplings, flower bread

The food was amazing! My friends and I did family style with Noodle with mixed seafood and veggie soup, noodles with black bean sauce, beef with scallions, sweet and sour sauce (the bowl), fried pork, and flower bread . Service was really good because there was only one or two employees running so it did take some time for our items to come but the food did come quickly. So service response time was appropriate. The decor is really cute but I forgot to take photos of them. The food is super amazing and I would totally come again with my family. They're also very dense food so come hungry! Parking is free and in front.

My boyfriend and I popped in here because we were hungry and in the area and the food did not disappoint. Everything was fresh, you can tell they use fresh ingredients. We had the sweet and sour pork and the orange chicken and both were delicious. We also had the egg drop soup and sweet and sour soup and we both finished our. As a New Yorker I missed great Chinese food and this spot will be come a staple!

Dong Bo Sung captures Chinese-Korean fusion with precision. I came for the jjajameong (not pictured here), and was not disappointed with chewy noodles and rich yet not overpowering sauce. We also had several other dishes, all of which were satisfying in their own right. The "hot spicy chicken" was frankly not very hot, however, though it was still very flavorful. The noodle soup was delicious as well, and very worth its price given its large serving.

Mapo Tofu

This is my family's FAVORITE place to eat! We'd always gone to the Dallas location prior to this one opening, but this location is so much cleaner and nicer than the Dallas one which makes for a better experience. Service is also fantastic at both locations, and owners and workers all seem to care a lot about good quality service. The Chinese-Korean food is absolutely amazing and hard to find elsewhere. I always get the Mapo Tofu (tofu with spicy sauce & meat), Black Bean Noodles aka Jajangmyeon, and Sweet and Sour Pork aka Tangsuyuk !! The Mapo Tofu is the perfect mix of spicy and savory and is great to eat with rice. The Jajangmyeon is amazing per usual, and the Tangsuyuk sauce comes on the side so that the chicken doesn't get soggy. Overall, 10/10!! Recommend this to all of my friends and family. Reminder: Portions are big - highly recommend family styling with a group.

Beef and broccoli dish. $16

I'm not sure how this place got such high reviews. The black bean noodles were bland and barely had any pork. I think they should just call it black bean noodles with onions. This would be more appropriate when I had like 3 pieces of of minced pork in it. Beef and broccoli also was bland and so saucy it looks and felt gross to tbh. Beef and Broccoli dish is a traditional dish that's supposed to be well seasoned and stir fried not watery. Portions were small for to go. I felt like I wasted $28 here. I won't be coming back again.

This was a long time coming, we've been wanting to find another black bean noodle spot that could even compare to paiks. Their crispy pork w sweet and sour sauce was super good! i loved how crispy the pork was and the sauce not being overwhelmingly sweet. The black bean noodles was also pretty good! Only complaint is that there was alot of onions in it than normal but it still tasted really good. The jjamppong was delicious for my boyfriend as well, he did ask for less spicy but seemed to be the full spice level but still good. I would definitely come back and recommend this place if you're ever in frisco! Keep in mind the hours on yelp are not updated they close at 8pm most days.

Gan Jjajang

Dong Bo Sung is actually the second best jjajangmyun I've had in the US, right behind Paik's Noodles in Los Angeles. I heard the jjajangmyun scene wasn't too great in Dallas so I wasn't hopeful, but I was BLOWN away at how great this place was. We visited on a Thursday evening with a few friends and it wasn't too busy but still had fairly a good amount of people. It was my first meal of the day so I was starving. I ordered the gan jjajangmyun, my friend ordered the shrimp jjamppong and my other friend ordered the regular jjajangmyun. We also got a spicy pork tangsooyook to share. The food came out VERY quickly - tangsooyook took maybe 5 minutes. Everything about the food was great. Tangsooyook tasted amazing. The sauce was really good. I am a person who like dipping instead of it coming it out spread out but there wasn't an option. Despite that, it tasted GREAT. The gan jjajang was oh soooooo good. It was so delicious and the noodles were particularly GREAT. It had an interesting texture -- a good interesting and it blended really well with the noodles. I tried some of my friend's jjamppong soup and that was very good too. Our server was very kind to us and she kept asking us for water refills, danmooji refills. Overall this place was FANTASTIC. I'm so glad I found this place and I definitely intend on returning again.

Down one star cause the last 2 times I came back the food was a little bland and the pork in the sweet and sour ttangsuyuk was tough and not soft like it used to be the first time I came. Everything still tasted good but it doesn't seem too consistent. My original review: Honestly best place for some good jajangmyun and jjampong! The sizes are huge too! Definitely family style and pretty reasonable! My mom was telling me that this location used to be in harryhines but closed down and went somewhere else. I used to grow up going to that location and missed it so much.. when I found out they opened in the new Frisco Asia plaza I was ecstatic! I came here on a Monday night with the family and my bf and when we came in around 630 it was empty. However not a moment later after we ordered, the whole place soon became packed!! Once we were seated down, we got our drinks and menus very quickly. We decided what we wanted to order and our waiter came to us and took our orders. But literally not even a blink of an eye later... our food came out!! It was so quick I swear we waited like 1 minute! Super hot and steamy food.. insanely huge portions and sooo good. We ordered the dangbang jajangmyun (black bean noodles for 2) ; Jjamppong (spicy seafood noodles) ; and pork ttangsuyuk (fried pork with this sweet and sour sauce). They served the sauce on the side so you can eat it however you like. I personally dont like the sogginess it can get if you just pour the sauce all over, so I liked that I was able to pour little sauce and little pork into my plate and eat it slowly while it maintains that crunch! Anyways for 4 ppl it was a ton of food. We left stuffed. It would probably be just enough for 5 ppl to feel satisfied or 4 ppl to be stuffed Haha. Definitely give this place a try!

The servers are very attentive and they come by all the time to check on you, refill waters, and offer you more of their banchans. I love their cucumber side dish and their kimchi. I always get refills on those. They are a little on the pricier side, but totally worth it. Overall, definitely recommend! It's best to come early to find parking since it does tend to be super busy. My woman and I got there right on time, we stood up at the counter for 6 minutes before someone got to us. And no, it wasn't busy or packed. Let's talk price. We paid for the premium menu, an additional $20 per person for the luxury meat. Total bill came out at $120 for us both, no tip. Those "premium meats" were only allowed 1 serving at a time. Our server was decent. Took his time coming back to us, so despite us being there 90 minutes, we only tried 3/4 premium meats. They give you GIANT short ribs. I'm talking a whole 2 foot piece of meat. They had scissors. At the table. No steak knife. No forks. Chopsticks and full meat scissors. We couldn't even cut it without using our hands. The meat all around was seasoned, okay. HEAVY sauce. Pineapple steak was rubber, the Bulgogi was insanely too sweet, dripping in marinade. The beef belly was outstanding though. The rice? Overcooked. Rubber. No seasoning. Comes in a bowl and you pour it on a flat glass tray. It spills. Everywhere. And then let's talk about the grill at the table. Any other place? It gets replaced instantly once they see it's dirty. Here? Nah. They give you an ice cube and tell YOU TO CLEAN IT YOURSELF. My girlfriend nearly burned herself. It's a gas grille, and you want your PAYING customers to CLEAN it ourselves...? While we eat? Awful experience. For $60 a person I would expect much better food, much easier and convenient service. I love ordering the combos so I get a little bit of everything that I want. The portions are decent if you're hungry & want to finish everything OR if you're not too hungry, eat half, and take the other half to-go for lunch the next day. The service is aligned with what you'd expect from a Korean place. Some of the older ladies working there are so sweet and helpful, especially if you tell them it's your first time, and some of them seem more intimidating and aggressive. Typically there isn't a wait for tables. Only times I've waited for a table are peak weekend dinner hours. The most I waited was maybe 15 minutes, as their service is quite fast for a sit down restaurant. This location has seats where you can store your personal belongings in them!
