I always order spicy so naturally, I ordered the Kimchi Fried Rice, Spicy Bulgogi, all the toppings, kimchi mandu and an over easy egg. I ordered my rice in a stone bowl. It provides a more authentic experience and it keeps the rice at the temperature of a thousand suns for a long time. Definitely worth the second degree burn in your mouth! I walked in today and felt weird to see menu is simplified at the self order counter, you can only choose white rice, brown rice or noodles now, and egg comes in scrambled only, a lot of meat selections are removed, and no sauce choices. I thought, fine, they are making menu changes to make some profit and keep the same price for customers. As long as the taste doesn't change, I can still be a fan. That's not the case, I ordered white rice hot stone bowl with grilled chicken, order came, rice is a differ t kind of rice, chicken is like white boiled chicken breast, carrots and zucchini even cut differently. It's obvious Burning Rice has changed its food preparation and ingredients sources, the taste and quality is a dramatic change in downward. Honestly, this bowl is ok taste, but it's no where near what Burning Rice had to offer before, it's like those packaged chicken fried rice you can buy from Costco. However if you love burning your tongue, this option is great for you. You also get an egg (I did sunny side up). Most of the time, you add gochujang (spicy Korean paste) to it and mix it all up. I personally did enjoy this bowl much better than I thought. If you do go, I recommend the Galbi option. What is nice about the food is that there is a self serve bar for salad and soup (along with condiments). That alone does make a great value. I chose the kimchi rice and added bulgogi and all the available toppings, which included fish cake, zucchini, bean sprouts, kimchi, broccoli, carrots, and japchae noodles. It also comes with your choice of an egg cooked to your liking. They have a self serve salad, soup, and condiment station that is complimentary so you can help yourself to salad and choice of seaweed or miso soup. Burning Rice is one of those places you must try. There are several of them in the Metroplex and when I first visited, I had no idea what I was in store for. The food is incredible. You walk in and wait in line, then order your food pretty quickly. Upon that point, you are self seated and the food comes out pretty quickly. My recommendation is to experiment since the food is incredible. Every experience is the same; awesome, and my kids can't get enough of this place. I typically order a hot bowl with rice and Bulgogi (Korean Ribeye), I like most veggies added along with an egg or two. I can't begin to explain how great it tastes when that bowl is walked over to your table sizzling and ready to eat. It stays hot for at least 20 minutes and you gotta be careful not to touch the hot skillet when you move the bowl. It's conveniently placed on a wooden plate. The appetizers are equally delicious, from the fried dumplings to the sweet glazed chicken, you won't be disappointed. The meat was cooked perfectly though! While we went at a prime time dinner hour on a weekday night, the sauce bar was poorly stocked and some of the tables were sticky. Came here because my fiancé and his best friend hypes up this spot a lot. Honestly, it was pretty underwhelming. It's styled to customize however you want it, so that's pretty cool. The food came in a stone bowl that was really hot and made the bottom of the rice crispy (that's the goal). Went this morning at 11:05am. I had an online order placed at 10:40 for an 11am pick up. Restaurant opens at 10:40am. My order was not received because they had not turned on their online order system. Once it was turned on, the receipt came out automatically with my order. So I had to wait an additional 12 mins in person to get my items. I also got the gochuchang sauce which was given in a small cup on the side. I added some gochujang to my hot stone pot before mixing it. My hot stone pot rice was pretty hot (temperature) the entire time I was eating it.
