I stopped by Ling Nam on a Saturday afternoon around 2:30 p.m. and the store was pretty empty, with only two customers ahead of me. The menu here is small compared to their Daly City location -- which I've personally never been to, but speaking with the owner, it sounds like they are currently in their soft-opening and have only been opened for a few weeks. I ordered 20 of their famous señorita bread and a pork empanada. Although I waited around 15 minutes to my order, it's understood that good bread takes time, and it was 100% worth the wait. My bread was fresh out of the oven when I received it. This was my first time trying señorita bread and it will certainly not be my last. The bread was soft and pillowy, and had just the right amount of sweetness to it. You'll definitely find it difficult to limit yourself to eating just one. Each one is $0.80 and there wasn't a single customer who walked in that ordered fewer than 10. The pork empanada that I tried was easily one of the best ones I've tried out in the Bay as well. The outside shell was flakey, buttery and had a subtle sweetness to it that contrasted nicely with the savory filling on the inside. The edges are crimped perfectly so there's no leakage of filling. I could easily eat three of these for a meal. I can't wait to stop by again. Not only are the pastries spectacular here, but the owner and staff could not be more friendly. If you're looking for something to bring to a potluck or a casual afternoon snack, you should definitely check out Ling Nam.

My 3rd time going here! Customer service is excellent!!! The time I have brought my kids the owners have given them a free senorita bread which is way above and beyond! Today the owner also gave us free Water bottles. I will always give this place my business you feel like you are apart of the family every time you step foot in Ling Nam! Looks like they are going to have some Dj's performing as I overheard the owner talking about future plans. Definitely worth checking out! 20 pieces for $16 cant beat it:)

Ling Nam recently opened in Mr. kebabs' space. Infrastructure similar. 5ish tables for dining in. Only bakery items now. Unknown when the rest of the offerings will be available. Ate these comfort foods decades ago. Not much recently due to sugar and carbohydrates contents. Serviced at counter. Pd. Got goods in minutes. Offerings (Filipino): senority bread, empanadas, chicarones, siopa (buns), drinks, desserts, garlic peanuts. Bites: senority bread .8O each. -size a lot smaller than before. 1/2 size. Haven't had in many years -sweet tasting, soft innards, slight crispy outer texture. Beef empanada (4.50) -tasty beef fillings. Flaky outer texture. Smaller than its cousins. Ube Halaya (12) -mildly sweet thick pudding dessert. Made from smashed purple yams, sugar, milk(coconut & evaporated). 4.5 stars semi-worthy. Prompt service. Quality: excellent. Quantity: reasonable.

Had my husband pick up a box of 40, and he also came home with empanadas and garlic peanuts. My Señorita bread cravings are finally satisfied! The Señorita bread was soft, buttery, and just the right amount of sweet which is perfect with an afternoon cup of tea or a cold glass of milk. I also had a bite of the empanada while my husband enjoyed his with a Coke. There's just something about an empanada and an ice-cold Coke, a classic pairing that never gets old. I'm so glad they finally opened a location closer to home. I still wish they had chosen the South Bay, but maybe it's for the best for the sake of my diet.

Soft opening. Took over the Mr kebab

They are currently in their soft opening and have the offerings of their bakery and not the full restaurant like in Daly City. The seniorita bread is 80 cents each now. (I think Starbread is also the same now). I miss the days where they were dirt cheap but still as addictive. Currently you can buy seniorita bread, empanadas, chicharon, flan, siopao, and drinks. Maybe they'll expand to offer the others in the future. The inside still more or less looks like the Mr kebab so there is seating. They were also handing out samples of the seniorita bread.

I was so excited to hear that Ling Nam Union City is finally opening closer to home! They're currently in their soft opening and are already serving their famous Señorita Bread, Empanada, and Siopao. No more driving all the way to Daly City just to satisfy those cravings! I definitely got my Señorita Bread fix--I ate two pieces before I even started my car! I'm hoping they'll eventually get approval to serve more menu items. For now, I learned this location operates as an express store rather than a full-service restaurant like the Daly City branch. The staff were warm, welcoming, and friendly, making the visit even better. Wishing the Union City team a successful opening!

Delicious freshly baked señorita breads!!! Empanadas are also tasty. Also bought some pork skins for my family to try. Also tasty!

This was my first time trying the bread from here and it was so good! It was served hot and there was not long of a waiting time. There was minimal seating. It was very clean and I know it recently opened so will definitely be back!

I am giving this a 2 star for the senorita bread. I was a little disappointed as the senorita bread wasn't piping hot. It wasn't even warm least to say. It's now where close to their Daly City location. Even at Starbread, they are piping hot when you get them. I was very excited when I heard the announcement that they are opening one in Union City because now I do t have to drive to Daly City. Parking was very easy to find. Store is very clean. Customer service is very friendly and I give it a 5 star.

Seniorita bread was dry. Needed more buttery sweetness.

Third visit on Saturday, August 8th. Finally was able to pick up both of their chicharon by going in at 8:30am. The other two times I went at 9am and 10:30am and everything was sold out, though I think it was due to limited on-hand. Tried the pork, which was a little hard, but not as salty as others that I've tried. Will probably buy it again since my husband likes to add it to some Filipino dishes for crunch and texture. Sadly, the seniorita bread from this visit missed the mark. Needed more butter and sugar. Bread was dry! I purchased 20 and still have 12 left as of Monday. Two stars for the bread. I may have to butter them myself or drizzle with condensed milk. The seniorita bread from my first two visits were way better.

Senorita bread is always yummy! I wanted to try more things but almost everything was sold out (understandable since the store is new) so maybe I'll go again sometime

The taho was warm, smooth, silky, and very very sweet--probably a bit too sweet for my liking. I'd get it again, but probably will tell them to not add too much of their arnival sauce. The puto bumbong was warm and had a nice chewy texture and wasn't overdone--I also really enjoyed the flan. However, our highlight was their fresh, warm, and soft pandesal which keeps us coming back for more. It's best eaten right away with butter or even by itself it was good. Even days later when I put them in the air fryer it was still just as good as the first day we bought them. Another visit I tried their Ube latte and arnival latte which were both way too sweet and lacked any coffee taste. If you look at my ube latte picture they really poured in a lot of Ube concentrate. Overall, the drinks are definitely a pass for me--but I'd still go here just for their fresh pandesals when I'm in the area or to try something different.

I'd love to keep Pie Dreams my little secret, but out of respect for the proprietor's mad baking skills, it's behind Dino's. The owner is passionate about his pies and shared his philosophy about how pie can make us all nicer, gentler people. I mean, that's not exactly verbatim, but the pie case made it hard to pay attention. On my visit, there were two savory pies (hand pies) and a selection of sweet pies (hand pies and slices). Being a big supporter of small businesses, I ordered 4. All I can say is I'm super happy I don't live closer. The chicken bacon hand pie was delicious. Big pieces of chicken in a flavorful creamy sauce. There may have been some vegetables in it but I was driving and it was unsafe to inspect my pie closely. The caramel apple hand pie was good. Because I'm not an apple pie fan I appreciated that the apples were sliced thinly, not chunky, and I loved the addition of the sanding sugar on top. I ordered the apricot frangipane (AF) for two reasons: it was double-crusted and it didn't have whipped cream on top. I wasn't totally on board with frangipane since my experience with it in boxed chocolates was "meh." Plus they seem to love it on the Great British Bake-Off and it always looks so unappealing. But paired with the tartness of the apricots and a crust that reminded me of shortbread, I think the AF was my favorite, though I haven't tried the blueberry lemon yet. If you love pie, go to Pie Dreams and have a slice or three (no judgment here). If you're not sure or don't think you like pie, go to Pie Dreams. You may surprise yourself.
