For years people have been telling me to go to Lindberg's Tavern for their hamburgers, and for years I put it off. Well today I can mark this one off the list. Cool atmosphere, and history of this location. Lunch today was an order of Fried Mushrooms and a Lindburger add bacon hold the tomato. For the record I am not a fan of smashed burgers(aka Steak n Shake, Freddy's) but Lindberg's burgers should not be compared to those. The flavor was on pint, but I have to believe it was the duck fat they were cooked in..... There fries were good and crisp. Not a fan of their house-made ketchup. I like my ketchup with a bit more vinegar and less sweet. Their fried mushrooms were outstanding. These were hand-breaded never frozen mushrooms! Best in Springfield! My meal was A+ My co-workers meal not so much. Crab Rangoon dip... needs a little work. Plus the kitchens fryer was screaming hot and the wantons were over cooked. As was the Hot Chicken Fried Steak. A couple more seconds in the fryer and it would have been to burnt to eat. This meal C I would recommend this place and will return to try other offerings. Went here with a friend for lunch. Wasn't busy which was nice. Parking right in front and derive was great. I had the French dip with fries. One of the best French dips I've ever had and the fries were crazy good. Stopped at Lindberg's on a road trip to Tulsa, Ok, from St Louis, on my way to the Bob Dylan and Woody Guthrie museums. Loved everything about this place. Extra points for the server who actually called me "darlin'" everytime he spoke to me. AND, the hostess seated me directly under a painting of Dylan! (How did she know?) Lots of items on the menu sounded tempting, but I went with the French Dip made from shaved prime rib, served on a baguette. It was easily best French Dip I ever ate. The prime rib was melt-in-your-mouth tasty (not dry) and the roll was crazy good too. It was tender all over, not crusty, and I think it was flavored with Rosemary which really complimented the taste of the beef. The fries came topped with shaved Parmesan cheese. They were hot and mouth watering. Besides the great food and service, I got a bonus because I overheard the fellow at the table next to me bragging to his lunch guest that Texas honky-tonker, Dale Watson, had performed at Lindberg's once upon a time. I've been a Dale Watson fan since 2001, when Hank III first suggested I listen to Dale's music, so I was really jazzed to hear someone else praising him. The Prime.Rib Salad was divine. Burgers are always a goto and the cocktails were perfect!

Went for lunch because another restaurant was closed. I was very impressed. Our waiter recommended the turkey burger, it was fantastic!!

Food was mostly incredible. Atmosphere was kind of annoying. Service was a little lacking. It was friends and I on a Sunday. The breakfast poutine was to die for. My burger and my fiends burger was incredible. The fried mushrooms for a side are kinda bland. Also, the crab Rangoon dip is good, but not amazing. Maybe needs some kick or something. It comes with like 6 chips to dip in it. You still have half your dip or more left when the chips are gone, then you have to use carrots and celery for the rest. So if you don't like vegetables, don't order it. The biggest down side to this place on Sunday was the live music. It wasn't bad music, but we were sitting right next to the stage and it was super loud. What was suppose to be a chill relaxing catch up time with long distant friends, turned into nobody talking because we couldn't hear one another. Would eat at this place again and try some different stuff for sure, but wouldn't order the sides I did this time, and would make sure it's a quieter night before we went. read more

Definitely not bar food! The best vegetarian/vegan burger in Springfield! I have eaten veggie burgers my entire life so my standards are high. Lindberg's burger is handmade (not frozen) and comes with lots of options. You get lots of seasoned fries. They make their own ketchup so it's a little different but good. The food is creative and delicious with fresh and local flavors, however, their importance of adding duck fat to darn near everything narrows the options for me. Every time I've been here, I've had really delicious food! Everything is house made, and that goes a long way! The fries are my favorite. I've had the turkey burger, which is delicious and one of my favorites. The Cuban on special was also delicious with house made mustard and smoked pork. My fiancé had the dubliner and thoroughly enjoyed it. I've never been here besides lunch, so I can't speak for the nightlife. This will be a "food" review. I went in today because I heard they were now serving food, and lamb burgers were on the menu! To be honest I didn't expect a "gyro" type burger. I really wanted just a well seasoned lamb burger.... I actually ended up being very happy with it though. The lamb was a little dry, but had a nice light seasoning. The feta cheese was tasty with great texture, and you could tell it was of good quality. The tzatziki sauce was also good, and you could taste it was home made. I didn't like that the sauce was put on the bottom of the bun. Because towards the end the bun got mushy.. Maybe a slightly grilled bun would help hold in the moisture? The onions, lettuce, and paper thin cucumber slices were all fresh. And the side of fries were lightly seasoned, and "crunchy" praise Oden! With a fantastic house made catsup to dip them in... All at a reasonable price of $8. I'm a big guy, and was satisfied from the meal... Conclusion; well above "bar food." We came for lunch on a Wednesday. The food here was fantastic! My sister got the last lobster grilled cheese but I was able to try it and it was delicious! I had the shrimp poboy which was also great. My husband had the hot chicken fried steak and said it was the best sandwich he had ever eaten. We also enjoyed a Boulevard Wheat beer which tasted delicious, as well. Our group had 11 total, 5 adults, and children ranging from 7months to 13 years. Lindberg's is slowly becoming my go-to spot for dinner. I am consistently happy with anything I order, whether it's off the menu or one of their daily specials. Some of the food that has come out of this place has been amazing. My standby is there grilled cheese sandwich with the onion jam... Because it's fantastic. Lately I've been subbing my side for their poutine, which I crave. It would be nice if it was about 10 degrees hotter when it comes out, but the gravy and cheese curds are better than just about anywhere in town, so I make do. But I would be happier if it was a little hotter temperature wise. I also really enjoyed the fried green tomatoes. Not just for the tomatoes, but for the bright onion relish that's served on the side. I may or may not have piled it on my turkey club...and ate it with a fork. I almost hate to write a review on the daily special items, because I don't want someone to get excited and have them not offer it. But I'm going to do it anyway. LOL. I ordered the turkey club sandwich comma which was loaded with fresh avocado and a lot of different kinds of turkey... And I snagged a bite of the soft shell crab burger that was served with fresh coleslaw. Absolutely delightful. If you are in the least bit an adventurous eater, always ask them for their daily specials. Some of the things that these could come up with, you won't find anywhere else Yeah, sometimes the beer glasses smell of chlorine, sometimes there's a cover for a band you've never heard of, and sometimes the cast of characters is questionable... but the chefs are really talented, the atmosphere and history are fantastic, and it's worth a visit. read more

It's made from Table Rock Red Ale! Take my advice, ask for another cup of ketchup because you'll be wanting more. While we're on the subject of local businesses, they also use fresh rolls baked at Artisan Oven, another gem on C-Street. Another surprise is their cashew chicken poutine fries. Yeah, you heard right. They put two amazing dishes together and slammed it on a plate just for you. The prices aren't too bad either.
