Brisket BBQ sandwich
Jen C.

Only 4 stars because the sides were all just okay, but the actual barbecue here was so good. Burnt ends sandwich and a brisket sandwich, both flavorful, smoky and delicious. Waitress was nice, food came out quickly. We had to rush out to catch a flight (our fault for losing track of time). It's a bar so you're getting bar atmosphere, but we'd recommend this place to others. Haven't tried other locations but really enjoyed our meal here.

Upside down Pineapple Cake Martini

My out of town brother selected Limp Lizard for our meetup. No wait at the bar. I asked for a recommendation for a summer friendly coctail and was served a pineapple upside down cake martini! Pineapple, vanilla delish! We moved to an outdoor table with village view. Service was friendly and attentive at the bar and the patio. The guys both had rib dinners one with Mac and cheese and hell Fire chili. Cucumber salad and fries. I ordered a brisket bbq sandwich with Mac cheese and the chili as well. The guys loved the ribs and the Smokey bbq flavor. Mac and cheese was a hit, so creamy and blend of cheeses. Their hellfire chili is debatable, I enjoy it but it's not your classic chili, consists of mostly seasoned ground beef that packs a little heat it's definitely not close to hell fire for me topped with a bit of cheese and sour cream. It lacks moisture that crushed tomato, tomato paste or broth would improve viscosity. The brisket sandwich is huge with a Smokey bbq flavor topped with cheese and bacon. Some fatty bites but to be expected. Rage review from the guys voting for LL ribs over DBQ! Ifykyk the smokiness sets them apart!

nashville hot chicken sandwich with chili and sweet potato fries

The service I received here was fine but maybe a little slow. Not many people in the place but didn't check back so often. The food left a lot to be desired. My side of chili was tasty but a bit greasy and very small. The chicken sandwich had the breading falling off. I have tried them out at food truck events and do enjoy the walking taco they do. I also tried them at the taco festival and the taco was simple but a good portion for the price. I would go back and try more of the menu to see if I like some of the other food better.

Cowboy salad and hellfire chili

Liverpool Limp Lizard is on point again. We ordered to go this time, so we could enjoy our meal watching Thurs. night football at home. I ordered my usual Cowboy Salad with side of hellfire chili. Portion was huge as always. Especially the chili. That's a SIDE!! Great flavors and best when combined together. Janice ordered the Nashville hot chicken. She appreciated the sauce on the side. It was not too hot either. Just the right amount of heat. The two sides were tasty as well. We've always had a good meal here. The place was packed on a Thursday night. Our bartender/server did an excellent job. It was only her fourth night working there! It's a definite Check em Out rating!!

Smoked Hot Wings

I love this place. Awesome variety of beers, friendly staff, and awesome food. This place in Liverpool,NY has the BEST wings I have ever had. The wings here are better than at Dinosaur BBQ in Syracuse even though the smoked hot wings at Dinosaur BBQ are very good. The wings here take the trophy for sure. If you are a chicken wing connoisseur, you absolutely have to try the smoked hot wings here at Limp Lizard in Liverpool NY

The food was enjoyable! We started with the pretzels and cheese appetizer, which was delicious. For my entree, I had the nachos, which were slightly dry but still flavorful. Overall, the food was good. The service was friendly and courteous, although a bit slow due to the crowd. We sat outside and the atmosphere was perfect. We're already looking forward to our next visit, when we'll have to try the ribs!

Wow... I really liked this place I had the brisket and smoked wings dinner. The dinner included 2 sides which I picked the slaw and the chili... I really enjoyed the chili it was awesome but the slaw was a bit to vinaigre tasting for me. The corn bread was delicious. The brisket was really good but the wings with the blueberry BBQ sauce were the belle of the the ball. This is well worth visiting the service was awesome. I had a great time.

Hog and Heifer with sweet potato fries and Mac and cheese

Limp Lizard is a local favorite of mine. I believe it's right on par with they who shall not be named! Truly I have favorites at each and Limp Lizard no matter what we have ordered has always delivered a delicious meal. Most recently we got the Cowboy salad and the Hog and heifer burger. Both were fantastic with the Cowboy winning the rodeo with a variety of flavorful moves that had us fans wanting an encore!!! We also enjoy the large variety of sides they offer, with sweet potato fries and Mac and cheese being the personal favorites. What else is left but to Enjoy!!

Seemed like a very authentic hole-in-the-wall, and I will definitely be back. I had the beef soup. It was pho-like, in a huge bowl with very thin beef (but lots of it) and filled with spicy peppers. Get some water, those peppers pack a pleasant punch. I also had bbq chicken, lamb. They both were like smallish juicy skewers. The chicken was actually better than the lamb, but both were delightful. Finally I tried the BBQ squid. It was tough to describe. Firm, but not too tough or chewy. It came in a sauce that was like the chef had gone to heaven and brought back some soy sauce just for you. Overall great experience.

Order is ready within 20 min of the call, we pick it up and everything is piping hot and fresh. One order of noodles is good for 2 people, and we save the rest for the next day. There is a variety of veg in each order as well - cabbage, carrot, brocolli, mushroom, and a few others I'm probably forgetting. We opt for the shrimp instead of the seafood option because you get more shrimp and less fake crabmeat. It goes without saying that the quicker you start on the noodles, the less soggy they are (this isn't usually a problem for us). Flavor is nice and light, not excessively salty and a good taste of garlic and sesame oil. You get three skewers in one order, there's not a ton of meat on the stick but it's nicely roasted with a dusting of the chili salt seasoning that brings back memories of street food in China. My husband mainly gets it for nostalgic purposes haha - but it's a nice snack. Total comes to $26, which feeds two people two meals, so really good value. Great for a night off from cooking.

A quick review from a recent uber eats order…read more I was in town for a business trip and decided to order a few uber eats orders since my hotel's food is not the best. Looking through recommendations I came across Mr. Bigg's restaurant. I am always open to try different cuisines and one for sure was Caribbean/ Jamaican when I am back home. It was definitely surprising how fast it was made and delivered but then I also noticed it was located pretty close to my hotel. I ordered the Oxtail with beans & rice, plantains, steamed cabbage and an additional side of corn bread. First bite was a delicious. The oxtails are tender fall of the bone. Great depth of flavor and texture was delicate. Plantains are nice in flavor and color, steam cabbage is steamed nicely not watery, rice was a great compliment and the corn bread was moist and sweet. Overall I appreciated the food from Mr. Bigg's restaurant. I did not have a chance to stop in around the city for restaurant due to my schedule but this was a great presentation of what the restaurant offers. Caribbean cuisine is something I do not often get but when I do, I never am disappointed. I would recommend this and especially if you like a meal that is full of flavor, spices and possibly put you to sleep haha

I wanted to try something different so I decided to order take out from here. Big portions and a…read moregreat deal (buy one get one free). The oxtails were very flavorful, collard greens were a bit bitter for my liking, and the jerk chicken & cornbread were just okay.

Nick Ford and Chuck Orlando, who own Limp Lizard, the popular local barbecue restaurants, have…read moreteamed up with Anthony Tringale, who runs Eat Local NY, to bring 3-1-Fried to CNY, a concept Tringale came up with years ago that started as a bone in fried chicken restaurant. In 2022, the conversation started about what sort of a "ghost-kitchen" concept would be fun to open. After bouncing a few ideas around, they landed on 3-1-Fried, but instead of serving bone-in fried chicken, decided to focus on making fried-chicken sandwiches.  The three owners spent more than a month designing their sandwich with Kevin Harrington, the manager and cook at Limp. They incorporated a variety of spices into the flour used for the breading. They auditioned several buns before settling on a brioche. They created sandwiches with chicken breasts and some using chicken thighs. Then they figured out the toppings, and officially opened for business in April inside of the Limp Lizard in North Syracuse. I love me some fried chicken. Fried chicken, in all its forms, are one of my absolute favorite foods. I've been following 3-1-Fried since before they opened and could not wait to give them a try. Since they've opened, I'd heard nothing but good things about them, but gave it a month for the craziness to die down before I gave them a try. Yesterday was that day. Wife and I went in right at opening at noon. My wife ordered the Chucks Hot Honey, topped with pickled red onions, lettuce and hot honey, while I chose the buffalo, topped with buffalo sauce, pickles, and blue cheese. Both came with tots. Our food was made quickly, but we were unfortunately very disappointed with it. My wife and I both experienced the same thing...both sandwiches meat were rubbery, dripping with oil, and all the breading just slid right off the sandwiches. The brioche buns were good, tots were great, well cooked, crispy and very well seasoned. But what matters at a fried chicken restaurant is the fried chicken, and it did not live up to the hype. Little bit on the pricier side as well, as all sandwiches with tots are between $13 to $15 dollars. We had high hopes for the place, and it's possible they had an off day, but our two sandwiches came to over $30 and for the price, with what we were served, we would not return.
