    Pulled BBQ Pork Sandwich

Had high hopes for the Limp Lizard. I was out in Syracuse and wanted to give it a try as I had heard good things about the food. Might have been better if there was BBQ sauce on my sandwich or in my to go order. I had asked for the sauce on the side with this being a take out order. Also, asked for salt and utensils. I got no sauce, no salt, and no utensils. Bun was soggy and pork without sauce was ok but had very little taste. Best part of meal were the fries. Disappointed. Will probably try again but not as a take out order.

Yum! I cannot speak for service at all because we did carry out (which was super fast and packaged nicely); however, this is some good barbecue! My husband and I both had the bbq brisket and wow! It was tender, flaky, moist, and flavorful, but the sauce and smoke wasn't overpowering - you could enjoy the taste of the brisket! It was a generous portion and you get two sides. I really wanted cornbread but they were out for the night (bummer, maybe next time), but the sweet potato fries were really good. The roasted corn was nothing special but wasn't bad and my husband enjoyed the chili. Definitely will visit again next time we are in town! Dare I say, I might prefer this to the brisket at Dinosaur BBQ

Ah, Limp Lizard. My sister and her family and I often come here on warm summer nights and afterwards walk over to Big Dip for some ice cream. Today, I took my nieces, who have returned here many times. Primarily because their mother loves this place so much; she was actually the one to get me hooked. Now, I won't compare this to a certain well known other BBQ place (ahem Dinosaur BBQ), because even though Limp Lizard also has their own BBQ sauce and entrees, I see these two restaurants as entirely different. Limp Lizard offers southwestern/Tex-mex/BBQ style cuisine. There are burgers, corn bread, fries, red potato salad, salads, onion rings, ribs, jambalaya, chicken, beans, etc. My one niece who used to love the mac and cheese, but claims the recipe changed (I agreed after trying it today. It reminds me of kraft, not terrible! But she doesn't like the new one as much) had the chicken tenders and a side of mac and cheese (rather than her usual full entree). My other niece and I split the Philly cheesesteak, sweet potato fries, and mac and cheese. I have actually been craving their Philly cheesesteak. We also all ordered the bottled Saranac Shirley Temples. There were so many chicken tenders my niece couldn't finish them on her own, and she gave some to each of us. Even though my other niece and I split a meal, it was more than enough. Although, I do think the cheesesteak could have been filled more with meat, as the bread to meat ratio was a little disproportionate. My niece's chicken tenders were basic. I actually told my two nieces who are 14 and 16 yo, that I was so perplexed to how Chick Fil A does fried chicken so well. Limp Lizard's tenders were perfectly fine, but not ones I will remember. I would prefer Tully's. One let down was that I believe they changed their recipe for BBQ sauce. I used to practically drink their original recipe, but something tasted off about the BBQ sauce I had today. The one I remember from past occasions was vinegary, tangy, thin, and had a reddish tone. Whereas this one was thicker and not as flavorful. They have a wide selection of drinks and desserts. Lots of fun Saranac carbonated soft-drinks, beers--Coronas--and pies. I really love Limp Lizard and I am so happy there are multiple locations in case I'm out in Liverpool or near another location. This Limp Lizard also does delivery! Overall not disappointed, but I feel like my past occasions have proven better food.

Me and the boyfriend went there this evening the food was great the fish was bigger than what I expected mac and cheese and the baked beans were so good not the ones you buy in the can. I would go back there again!

This is unacceptable, rancid black bean salad. This made my office gag as soon as I opened this.

In 2022, the conversation started about what sort of a "ghost-kitchen" concept would be fun to open. After bouncing a few ideas around, they landed on 3-1-Fried, but instead of serving bone-in fried chicken, decided to focus on making fried-chicken sandwiches.  The three owners spent more than a month designing their sandwich with Kevin Harrington, the manager and cook at Limp. They incorporated a variety of spices into the flour used for the breading. They auditioned several buns before settling on a brioche. They created sandwiches with chicken breasts and some using chicken thighs. Then they figured out the toppings, and officially opened for business in April inside of the Limp Lizard in North Syracuse. I love me some fried chicken. Fried chicken, in all its forms, are one of my absolute favorite foods. I've been following 3-1-Fried since before they opened and could not wait to give them a try. Since they've opened, I'd heard nothing but good things about them, but gave it a month for the craziness to die down before I gave them a try. Yesterday was that day. Wife and I went in right at opening at noon. My wife ordered the Chucks Hot Honey, topped with pickled red onions, lettuce and hot honey, while I chose the buffalo, topped with buffalo sauce, pickles, and blue cheese. Both came with tots. Our food was made quickly, but we were unfortunately very disappointed with it. My wife and I both experienced the same thing...both sandwiches meat were rubbery, dripping with oil, and all the breading just slid right off the sandwiches. The brioche buns were good, tots were great, well cooked, crispy and very well seasoned. But what matters at a fried chicken restaurant is the fried chicken, and it did not live up to the hype. Little bit on the pricier side as well, as all sandwiches with tots are between $13 to $15 dollars. We had high hopes for the place, and it's possible they had an off day, but our two sandwiches came to over $30 and for the price, with what we were served, we would not return.

And as I looked at what everyone else was eating (and offering me, since all of the plates were massive), I think the food was good quality as well. I ordered the poutine on the basis that I knew it would be fried cheese curds and BBQ pork (Northern NY BBQ, not Southern), so that's what I got. Not the best - all a bit too fried and dried - but I plowed my way through every cheesy bite. Perfect balance of ingredients all the way through. I also kinda destroyed an entire bottle of hot sauce in the process. The others were impressed. Other components: When you walk in, it's a bar. You walk past the bar and suddenly it's a restaurant. More than one person appeared to get lost trying to figure this out, and I think one group even turned around and left because they were looking for a restaurant and not a bar. Their loss. Other than the TVs (which I enjoyed for some live sports), the restaurant and bar don't feel like they're the same even though there's no door between them. I didn't want to drink since I hadn't yet driven to my hotel, so I can only review the restaurant and not the beer... but pretty good overall. Everyone wanted the food to go, not a bit left behind, meaning they all liked it too. Good deal.

Their saving grace are their smoked wings which are smoked then fried and are great. Been there…read moretwice and both times the meat came out cold. The sides, with the exception of the French fries and sweet potato fries are very small and the chile was watery. The service was very nice though.
