I was drooling when I walked in! Mike is busy smoking brisket, and creating great burgers, combining beef on weck with a juicy burger. The burger was perfectly cooked medium, the roast beef so tender, and the horseradish sauce not too overpowering. Great new menu and a great day to eat local in a comfy environment. read more

My Bacon, Cheddar Cheese Burger came with a Maple Mayonnaise, I asked the waitress for plain Mayonnaise. Wonder if they charge for ketchup and mustard ? read more

We have wanted to try this place for a while so ventured out on a Saturday evening. Only 2 tables taken so we were worried. We were seated then forgotten. We were about to leave when another server asked if our server realized we had been waiting. The amount of flies inside was a super turn off. I heard good things of their burgers so I got a burger and my other half get the brisket sandwich. Both come with home made chips. The burger was good not great. I had asked for medium and it came medium well. Not much to say that made it special, except the smoked bacon. The brisket sandwich was just ok....the meat not fresh and would not recommend. The chips were bland and seemed liked they were made prior day. So unfortunately, we will not be back and we're disappointed. read more

the bacon was well, and so were the pretzel sticks. HOWEVER, you can Only buy and eat Their Wings At the Bar. this was very disappointed to us, as their wings are quite good. the Service was well, Dee was quite polite. read more

Bear Creek enjoyed a well regarded, albeit brief, tenure in Brewerton before closing after just 9 months. Now the restaurant is back with a similar menu, new location and a new owner at 5480 Bartel Road in a building that once housed a Burger King and most recently, an RV dealership. Michael Piraino, owner of the former Brewerton Diner located right down the road, now owns Bear Creek. The building's history is recognizable from the outside, but take a step inside and it bears little resemblance to its predecessors. The Adirondack motif of the original location has been carried over to the new spot, with snowshoes, a two-man saw and other rustic decor decorating the walls. Wife and I were looking for a new place to try for our usual Saturday lunch and decided on Bear Creek. We got there just a little after opening and were sat immediately. You can tell just from the shape of the building it was formerly a fast food place, but it's been given a nice makeover. Only about a dozen booths/tables along with a nice large bar in the back of the building There were only a couple other people in the restaurant at the time, and our server was the only one working both all the booths sat and the bar. She gave us our menus and told us that all apps were half priced at the moment. The wife chose pretzel sticks and poutine off the apps menu as her meal, while I went for the avocado egg burger, a patty topped with green chile aioli, shredded orange cheddar cheese, a fried egg and breaded and deep fried avocado. Our food took a decent amount of time to come out considering there weren't a lot of tables sat, but knowing restaurants are short staffed, we didn't make a big deal about the around 25 minute wait. Food was good. Their pretzel sticks are delicious and come with homemade cheese sauce, a sweet mustard and their maple dipping sauce. My wife said she enjoyed the poutine, but it wasn't "life changing" in her words. I enjoyed their fries, and while my burger was good, I did not taste the green chile aioli at all. Well seasoned and cooked patty, toasted brioche bun and the deep fried avocado were all very tasty though. Prices were more than fair especially with the half price apps, everything was only $25. Our server was great, very nice, and perfectly attentive especially considering she was running the entire front of the house alone. All in all, we felt the food was decent, but could use a little improvement. They definitely have the potential to have amazing food and we'd go back and try other stuff in the future. read more

My family goes to Bear Creek on a regular basis and the service is usually pretty good. I had family in town and they wanted a hamburger so I recommended we go to Bear Creek! When we got there I explained we were a larger party (9 ppl) so we could split into two groups. The hostess was rude and told us, "the boss said no" and they wouldn't seat us. I tried to explain that it would be separate checks / two separate parties so why couldn't we stay and she just said no. As a regular I could not believe they would treat people like that. I was embarrassed that I recommend this place to my family and then they wouldn't seat us. We went down the road to 916 and they were fantastic and the food was delicious!! read more

Went here on a whim one day for a late lunch and was surprised to see how full the restaurant still was! One server was running the whole thing by herself and she was still very friendly and efficient. We got the pretzel sticks as an appetizer and the chicken sandwich to share, both were delicious and fresh. The chicken sandwich had an herb mayo that was perfectly seasoned and necessary for the sandwich!! Very cabin-like interior that was welcoming and the inside was clean, as well as the bathrooms. read more

Stopped in mid afternoon for a late lunch and was glad that I did. Tried their signature bourbon bacon burger, which was excellent. Perfect medium rare, chunky bacon and tasty sauce. Had black onion petals with chipotle ranch dip, also perfectly cooked. Good selection of beers on tap, tried a couple I never had before. Definitely would go back next time I am in the area. read more

I've been here before with my dad, and been meaning to get back, but life... Anyways when I did go, the service was great; didn't have any issues! I ordered a salad and their pretzel sticks which were AMAZING! The dipping sauces for the pretzels are to die for! My dad got a burger and fries, I believe, and he didn't have any complaints either. The atmosphere was quiet, but then again it was early afternoon in the middle of the week, so that could've been why, lol. I imagine if you go on a busy day or to the bar, it'll probably be a different experience. But all around DELICIOUS food! read more

Great Brisket!! Great service!! Excellent Owner!! Came out and personally was greeting guests. Can't wait to go back!

We stopped here while traveling back from Montreal to Northwest PA as it was along the route back and we are so happy we found this place! The burgers were fantastic and they had a wide variety of beers, as a passenger on a long ride it was fun to kick back and relax with some good food and drink! The atmosphere is great too, love the rustic vibe. If you have room for dessert, have some peanut butter pie! It was amazing! read more

Been 3 times, wont do a 4th. Nothing is worth ordering again. Food lacks heart, or any actual culinary skillset. 1.5 hrs and no tables turned, no food, and no idea why. Nachos were interesting - almost a win, until you eat them and find the 2inches of grease and fat on the bottom. A spoon with holes could probably fix that for you. Burgers are a hot mess, making something huge and sloppy doesnt make it a good burger. Pasta was a bowl of soup with a couple WHOLE cherry tomatoes dropped in it which were sunk at the bottom. All in all its too bad as there arent any options around here :( the beer is cold. Server was excellent but they apparently needed 4 more of her. read more

So disappointed that I actually downloaded Yelp to write this review. I got the pattymelt and my husband got a mushroom burger with Buffalo cauliflower. The Buffalo cauliflower was basically steamed cauliflower with a touch of hot sauce. The fact that we paid $9 for that was disgraceful and unbelievable (see photo below). That leaves me to the pattymelt. The onions were not even sautéed and there was barely any cheese. The other burger looked like it had canned mushrooms on it- which, fine but could you have at least cooked them? We love to support local, but I just hate it when I pay for a meal that's expensive and a "treat" and it's absolutely dreadful. read more

Burger was great and the bacon was awesome. The beer skeleton was good. My son got the pasta and said it was pretty good ( he's a picky eater and that is rare for him to say ) Restaurant was very comfortable read more

The only reason am giving the two stars is one for the hospitality and one for the service both were outstanding and staff are friendly and fast now the food ... I don't know where to start , my chicken dinner was cooked to the point where it was rubbery and tasteless , the fact that my food was cold and the other piece of chicken come later was astonishing to me , we were apart of a wedding that's why I couldn't complain about the food but I was very disappointed The place is awesome and the restaurant has potentials I hope they can work out whatever happen in that kitchen read more

The appalling experience that the owner did to a family was enough for me never to go back! Yelling, profiling, and making a scene over a small issue of the quality of food. This owner and servers obviously do not care for their job, customers or anything else. If the owner feels that behaving aggressively to a customer is the way to keep gaining business then he needs a wake up call. If your quality is not to the standards that it should be, fix it, but make the customer happy so they can be repeat customer. read more

2nd try The menu made the burgers look soo good! Nice people but, honestly an hr wait for a burger. It was before dark soo time for a quick meal and beat the deer, They are not bike friendly ! Anyway I was a bit aprehinsive as I herd service suffers when they are busy! Pretty good crowd, But a table left for me. They are quick about cleaning up and getting tables ready. Good enough about getting your drink and saying hi. Unfortuneatly that seems to be the end of quick. Waitress appologised for the wait, saying we had that big group over there. well ya I guess but they should be able to handle 8 to 10 people, along with the others. I kept hearing people around me complain, about the wait.I overherd one table she comped there meal, they were soo dissapointed they walked out just as she brought there food, ha she chased them out the door. Guy was miffed but took the food. I was asshured mine was on the way, Just a cpl tickets ahead of me. Come on its been 45 min. Bla bla bla point made. On to the food Jalopeno burger fries pie for the fat guy! Beef was good quality, nice roll, special sauce nuttin but mayo, jalopenos seemed fresh but had no fire, not there fault. burger just not flavorful. looked to me just 1 guy cookin and he was in a rush tryin to catch up. ole burger was thrown together pepper was sliced nice but really couldnt take a min to spread it out 3 slices stacked 1 atop the other. Oh well chit happens, turns out fries were high point of the meal, go figure! Pie was pretty darn good, and reasonable sized piece. But another 10 15 min to get it, and frankly not 7 bucks worth! 27 n change for a burger fries n pie well knock 7 off for the pie n ya got 20 bucks for a burger and a tea. I could live with that in todays world, but needs to be a good burger, and half n hr not a full hrs wait! I'LL TRY ER ONCE MORE 3rd time a charm I hope. At this point I gotta say if yo lookin for quick probably not the place to visit PS I did not beat the deer or dark per the wait Ole dog dont like riden after dark too many critters A few friends down hittin em be careful out there read more

We sat at the bar and the bartender was very nice but super slow and inattentive. A delight once she got around to refilling your water that had been empty 30 minutes. It literally took two hours to get main dish food. The shrimp appetizer was solid and we enjoyed it. The burgers where meh at best. The dessert flat out sucked. The owner was so mean to his staff in front of patrons it was embarrassing and we just felt so bad for those poor people working for such an abusive jerk. Won't be back. Hurry up and go out of business so something decent can move in. read more

I ordered the Bear Creek burger and asked for it to be cooked medium. It came out well done. I had about 3 bites then asked for a box (so my dogs could eat it). I'm not one to complain or send food back, I simply won't return. My wife had the Philly cheesesteak a half sized instead of the full. She ate it all but said it was very salty. The pub chips were not good and had a disappointing aftertaste. We also tried the bang bang shrimp, which to be fair wasn't bad, but wasn't worth the price. Two beers and the food came to $63. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. The ambiance was good for what they have to work with, just wish the food was better, especially for the price. read more

This place is trash. My ass they belong on the top ten burgers in NY. Angry Garlic hands down has the best burgers in town at least when I go their the entire staff including the owners are extremely nice and if you have an issue which is rare they will fix it with no problems and the owner won't argue with you over it like he will. Owner here is a condescending douche. Dude your food is sub par. Good luck. Stay far away. read more

The waitress failed to tell my friends and me that if you order two burgers on Wednesday on the same bill, you'll get the $2.00 discount. When my friends and I got our bills, we were charged the regular price. The manager then came over and explained the situation, asked us if we would like to have our orders put on the same bill so we could get the discount, and then proceeded to ask us if our food was edible. Absolutely awful, went on a Wednesday night so not a typically busy night for restaurants. Wife ordered a med rare burger and it was absolutely hammered to beyond well done. They cooked her another & it was barely cooked. My nachos had a liquid substance on the bottom of them, I guess water? The waitress said that isn't normal and they offered no discount or anything. The owner came out and said "they're slammed". Don't waste your time or money here. read more

So happy we finally made it to Bear Creek! I passed by everyday on the way to work when they were remodeling the old Burger King and then COVID hit so we couldn't go. It was worth the wait! Fun atmosphere and abiding by all social distancing rules. There was both indoor and outdoor seating available. Waitresses were very nice and quickly sat us inside since all outdoor seating was taken. She told us about all the drink and food specials and quickly brought our drinks. The margarita was very good and on special for $5. I only wish it was bigger! Lol We had nachos to start since it was $2 off on Thursday. They came with queso, cilantro, pico, jalapeños and you can choose beef or chicken. Ingredients were very fresh and delicious. We asked for a few more chips to finish all the toppings because they were too good to waste. Soooo yummy! We ordered the You're My Boy Bleu and Smoked & Onions burgers for our meals and they were delicious. They came with french fries or you could choose another side for an additional cost. We love our burgers med/rare and they came out med/well-well. Only downside of the meal, but the flavor and toppings were delicious! The kids split the kids mac n cheese. It was delicious and homemade, but my daughter is a boxed mac n cheese girl so she didn't eat it. My son (and us adults) loved it! On the menu it said that it came with french fries, but the waitress said it did not. Luckily our burgers came with a ton of delicious fries, so we shared it with them. We didn't have room for dessert but they do offer some yummy choices. I want to try the peanut butter explosion next time! They have a full bar and good craft beers. They have various food and drink specials each night. Thursday was ladies night and the deals were great. Highly recommend this restaurant. I look forward to returning soon! read more

Service is great. I used to live in NYC and had many great burgers, but this place may take the top spot. From salads, to pasta, to burgers and steak, this is the best place to eat in all of Syracuse. Craft beer on tap is good as well. The inside is decorated well and is also a great spot to bring the family, or sit and watch a sports game. 10/10 would recommend. read more

The family and I tend to eat here every other Wednesday and the food is absolutely delicious. My father and I tend to get the snake bite pasta usually which has great flavor and a decent level of spice. My mother usually gets her burger and she loves how juicy and well seasoned it is. The few times I've changed up my order I've enjoyed what I've had. The only improvements I can think of is having more items (which I understand the lack of due to covid) and I wish they had the choice of regular mashed potatoes because I don't really like their three cheese mashed potatoes. read more
