Service was brusque despite the fact that there were no other customers in the store. The prices are high - I paid over $5 for a regular iced tea with a mix of tapioca and lychee jelly - which made it all the more disappointing when I finished my drink and had half a cup of ice left and couldn't get to the add-ins. read more

LimeRed Teahouse - Boba tea - Cafes Near Me - Northampton, Massachusetts

See all

Peach bubble tea is good. Can't really screw that one up. Place is a bit small. Not uncommon to run out of seats. One of the few places in the area to get french macaroons, they're not bad. Chewy however, not crisp like traditional macaroons. At $3 a piece, I'm buying one no matter how badly I want 10. read more

Loved the jasmine and taro bubble teas! Love the place in general. One thing I hated was the lavender macaron which tasted like soap. But the rest was great and this is a place I commonly visit now. Great place to study as well. read more

Very fast service!! Like the atmosphere and everyone is friendly! Love making a trip to NoHo and stopping for a bubble tea!! read more

The bubble tea is pretty good considering Northampton is a smaller town but the staff is not very friendly most of the time and sometimes, they are downright rude. If you go to the store too close to the opening or within an hour of closing most of the time they do not have boba. Either that or they tell you to wait 25-30 minutes for the boba to cook. I've worked in fast food before, and if they know they're running out of boba, they should start cooking it beforehand. I went in after they were closed for two days and I wanted boba and they didn't have any, so I was going to get a waffle, but they didn't have any batter because they "just opened after a few days". All they had in the store was plain tea. I would recommend that they have more foresight in the future. read more

I make it a point to stop in every time I'm in the area. The employees here are great. I was introduced here as a delivery driver. I had no idea what bubble tea even was. It looked weird and I wasn't adventurous. The employees gave me a sample of the boba pearls and I love them! I follow boba things on Instagram now and even own a glass boba straw. I'm so obsessed! They even explained what they are, gave me some history on the tea, and the tapioca pearl cooking process. I do wish they had a reusable cup or bottle but I am glad they do sell reusable straws. I really love this place. read more

This place never has boba!! 8/10 times I've gone recently the clerk gives some excuse. They're "out of boba for the night" every night within an hour of closing. Or you come in and they tell you the boba will take about 25-35 min. Who has time for that??They can't anticipate demand? I don't understand it. Anyway, today was the likely the last visit... Such disappointment every time I come. read more

weird customer service -- literally watching the staff talk and ignore customers right now. also, what's the point of having a TV screen menu if you're going to put masking tape over the things you're out of? Expensive boba, weird atmosphere, weird service. read more

This is probably my favorite bubble tea place in town! My favorite is mango tea with jelly and mango pop

Even better then the 1st store but I wish it was bigger :(

I finally found a place where there's a variety of bubble tea flavors to choose from! The staff was friendly and very helpful. The tapioca pearls were just right, as a previous review stated, which is really important! Loved that they had red bean as a topping. Can't wait to go back and try the jellies next time around! read more

I got a delicious Thai tea with boba and it didn't disappoint! The boba was so flavorful with hints of honey and obviously made fresh. It's the only place in the area that makes a great boba so they will do well! Highly recommended. read more

Apparently LimeRed can't be bothered to stay open for their advertised hours, even on a Saturday. Glad I wasted the time to walk here.

Nice place to get boba, given that it is in a small town. Is it as good as Kung Fu Tea or Gongcha? Probably not.

Although I enjoy tea drinks from Limered, I am done with this place. They never get my order correct. Order large, get regular. Order no sugar, get full sugar. Order plain bubble tea, get milk tea. This has happened almost every time I have been there. Too frustrating to continue as a customer. read more

Best bubble tea place in Pioneer Valley. Staff are great, too.

I'm really not sure why people are so enthusiastic about LimeRed... Maybe because its the only bubble tea place in the area? Either way they have minimal options and the tapioca balls and tea quality aren't very good. I really don't even think its good enough for a bubble tea fix to hold you over until you get to a better store. read more

Like most bubble tea locations, it isn't anything incredible, but they have some good tea options and it's great to have one in Northampton as an alternative to ice cream or frozen yogurt. The mango and peach teas with tapioca pearls of lychee are great. Very friendly staff. read more

Amazing little place to grab some of that thrilling concoction known only as bubble tea. I have seen a lot of places starting to offer this but don't waste your time and come here instead! When I first started coming here I would often get my drinks with boba in them, and while still amazing, my tastes have graduated to using the poppers they now have which are pearls with strawberry juice inside. They also offer dumplings that may take a little while to cook, but are so worth it. try the red bean! The store itself can be cramped and if you are a claustrophobic person you may have some trouble inside. It can get packed and not much standing room is available. However on a slower day it can be pretty nice to sit at the large plate glass window and people watch or draw a picture on some sticky notes and add it to the huge collage of art that adorns the space under the counter tops. Staff is amazing and friendly. and very knowledgeable about the products. Store space aside this is one of my fave places in Noho. I always enjoy coming here and chatting with staff and knowing I am going to get a great drink. read more

Very Americanized tea. It would be more authentic and better if they stick to the Asian procedure. Coming from where there is a bubble tea shop around every street corner, I find the milk tea not thick enough, and over sweetened. The other tea also had the same problem, or just not strong enough. read more

My first time here today. Tried the Milk Tea Coconut with Lychee Jelly. I am a fan!! Cannot wait to try other flavors in the menu, and make my own! read more

This quaint little tea house packs quite a punch. The ambiance is friendly & welcoming. The customer service is amazing! The workers are knowledgeable about their product & ever so patient and sweet. The variety of tea flavors they have give you the opportunity to fulfill you're every craving or whim. Their boba is always on point. LR has become my go to place with my family, friends, and co-workers alike. My experience it's always super pleasant and satisfying. If you haven't tried it, you definitely must. Go Noho Lime Red. I love you guys!!! read more

Such a nice place! The man who I'm assuming is the owner was very sweet and made sure everyone liked their drink before they left

I ordered the almond milk tea and thought it was way too strong. I'm used to a soft almond flavor but this had a lot of almond extract in it. I also got the Mango Thai and Ginger Zing mochi. The rice tasted a little stale like it had been frozen for too long. We went in a little late so I didn't feel the most welcomed either. Tiz my review! 2/5 stars - wouldn't recommend to any of my friends from CA. read more

Honestly, it's really hard to find good bubble tea outside of the city, but this place was awesome! My tea wasn't too sweet and the boba was perfect. They make matcha just like they do in Hong Kong, which is probably even harder to find tbh. They even had egglet waffles! I didn't get one, but I wanted to lol The shop was super cute, the music was super cool, and the workers were so sweet. I'm 100% a new regular. read more

Pricey but cute. Dumplings and drinks are good. I like how you get to control how sweet your drinks are. Try the chicken teriyaki dumplings! They're super cute and yummy. I'll definitely be going back. =] read more

There are almost too many options here, and you might end up with something incredibly saccharine if you're not careful! However, I've found a lot of different drinks here to my liking, and can't think of anything more refreshing on a summer day. Personally, I prefer jellies and pops to boba these days (particularly matcha jelly). It's a small space with a small staff, so drinks can take a while sometimes - but at this point, I expect it, and it doesn't deter me from the deliciousness that awaits. read more

I met up with some friends here and it was my first time in Northampton as well as my first time trying bubble tea. It was a nice little place and the bubble tea was very good, although the taste of boba does take some getting used to for someone who's never had it before! It's definitely a cute little shop though, with plenty of options, and I really enjoyed their mango bubble tea. I'll stop by here again when I visit Northampton. read more

Bubble tea was pretty good. Very cute place with a couple tables. Tea is not as sweet as I usually get and the tapioca wasn't as soft as I like but pretty good for western mass. read more

Nice little Asian tea House with lots of trendy options and bubble teas. Don't be in a hurry when the noon rush happens

Had the mocha bubble tea which was great but the 3 star review is because of the obnoxious friends that were visiting the staff on duty. A group of about 6 of them came in and was very loud, at one point I could not hear myself speak! Even after everyone that was not a part of this group give the staff a look of annoyance, nothing was done about it. Next time my order will be to go. read more

Lovely, refreshing drink after a long hot bike ride on the Manhan Rail Trail. Eleven miles merits a treat! I had a 22 ounce, Assam Black Milk Tea with boba, 25% sweet. It was fantastic! Service was friendly and quick. The shop is air conditioned, an extra bonus, and they have wifi. I sat at a window seat and watched Northampton go by. A pleasant experience. Cost $5.35. A little pricey, so not something I could do every day, but I'll be back. read more

This is without a doubt my favourite place to go. I love bubble tea, and they make it perfectly here. Whether you like it milk tea or green tea style you will not be disappointed. Plus the staff is so nice and helpful. read more

I was there earlier tonight with my friend to try the Thai ice tea and is very good and friendly service too . But one thing is that the cookies they sale is a little too expensive for $2.95 a piece taste good but is not worth it. read more

Love everything about this place. It's very hip and fun to be in. It's one of the only tea spots around the area, so there isn't much to compare to, but overall the decor is clean, the service is friendly, the tea is typically very good. I haven't tried the food. read more

SEXIST TREATMENT OF CUSTOMERS! I have been a loyal customer or Lime Red, my entire time I have been a student at Smith. Unfortunately, today I was a victim of sexist treatment by two of the male workers there. One worker was a large male wearing a hat, who took 15+ minutes to ask me about my order. I understand that he had many drinks to make, but there was no simple acknowledgement of any of the customers, and the guy behind me actually left because he was fed up with the customer service. Because I really wanted bubble tea, I pathetically waited there for 15+ minutes, until he decided he wanted to "graciously grace" me with any acknowledgement. I was a little annoyed when I put in my order because I had just waited 15+ minutes. Rather than apologize, a small Asian male worker, who I believe was off-duty, decides to insinuate a string of insults towards me with the large male barista. I also was not sure whether or not he was off-duty because he kept going behind the counter, but wouldn't help any customers, which worried me due to sanitary reasons. He passive-aggressively decides to say how much he hates customers with attitude because they can't help that they have to make a lot drinks. The large barista then goes on to respond that when he has to make a drink, he can't be bothered to help any customers because he likes to take his time and doesn't want to feel rushed. The two of them then decide to make fun of a female coworker, named Shannon, because she is always so hectic and rushed trying to help customers, while they prefer to take their time and not be bothered to help customers. This is absolute bullshit. Lime Red is a store based off of regular customers coming and supporting this store. If I was a 6 foot + man, none of these rude comments would have been said in front of me. However, because I am an asian woman, they think it's fitting to ridicule and make fun of female customers and co-workers. I will never support this store again. How can such sexist customer service be allowed in your store. You have lost a loyal customer! read more

I have grown to love the teahouse, especially the milk tea and bubble teas. My favorites are the honeydew milk tea with mango pop and the passion fruit iced with lychee pop. (though any of the fruity iced ones are fantastic!) I have tried begging for a location in Burlington, VT as that is where I am now but alas, until I find my inner entrepreneur, I will have to make the 3 hour road trip to Northampton. (totally worth it!) I shall miss you Lime Red and will hope that you someday make it to Burlington. read more

I went here for the first time a few days ago after looking pseudo-extensively for bubble tea teahouses in the area. I have had bubble tea a few times from teahouses in and around Boston's Chinatown and I was looking for something local. I would say I had lower expectations this time around and I was pleasantly surprised. They have an extensive list of options -- matcha, boba, and everything in between -- and a list of their most popular options (good for newcomers like myself). I was feeling slightly adventurous and got Assam boba without milk, making the drink significantly stronger and less saccharine. It was quite good and I recommend it to anyone who thought that the milk-added drinks were too sweet. I also liked the ambiance of this place. They have the front face of their counter decorated with sticky note drawings (mostly of various anime/manga characters) and I thought it gave them a youthful/kitschy ambiance that worked well. The location was fairly easy to get to excepting the troublesome on-street parking that defines Pleasant Street. I did take one star off for the prices as I thought they were a little higher for what was offered than I would have liked relative to my past experiences. I would recommend this place if you are looking for bubble tea all the same as it is relatively hard to get locally. read more

Very good bubble milk Tea. You can choose what to add to the tea and the sweetness level. Lychee jelly and grass jelly with assam black tea is just delicious! read more
