Tart Baking Company is owned by Shelburne Falls and Catalpa Coffee- all three being alternate coffee stores in Noho. This means, that the coffee you get here is going to be Catalpa roasted beans, but with a higher selection of "fancy" pastries. (The apricot croissant I had was very very delicious. ) I do not love Catalpa espresso as much as Shelburne Falls coffee, because it has a very sweet taste with a bitter finish, I prefer something that is more of an earthy or mellow light roast. Just smelling the ground coffee makes you think of something flowery and sharp. They have limited breakfast sandwiches and a few drink specials that remind me of what they have over at Catalpa . Unfortunately, because all three stores are linked, that means none of them have soy milk anymore, which is my go to espresso add-in. It is even still on the sign at the counter. The staff is friendly, and it's at a nice spot near where Shelburne Falls used to be. Their main advertisement is their croissant, so four stars for having a super delicious croissant. For not having any seating, and advertising soy milk and having any, one star deduction.

    Matcha (special)

I have not had many of the drinks here, but I recently had a Matcha and it was great! Not too sweet. Their pastries are always great here, especially the muffins and scones.... And just about everything else

Cute lil coffee shop. I tried the nutcracker latte, and it was awesome. Macadamia flavor with an unexpected sprinkle of salt on the milk foam. Highly recommend

Tempting baked goods with inventive selections! Excellent vegan ginger cookie. Adequate service that became friendlier when I left a decent tip. Typical bakery ambiance but baked goods seemed jumbled in some cases.

Too dense, not fluffy at all

Came here to try their "famous" almond croissant. $4 each is as expensive as NYC but sadly the quality isn't anywhere close. The shell was soft and soggy. Dough was sour, dense and greasy. Almond paste was neither enough nor evenly filled. Service was mediocre. The staff barely talked to me. No seats or wifi so I only got a croissant to go instead of sitting down with a coffee. Not again.

Good service, convenient location and creative baking. I highly recommend. Too bad they no longer offer bread.

Picked up some treats and coffee while walking with my wife. Very nice little break during our day.

Nice pastries, the croissants are super nice but a little bit not worth the price. The coffee is fine but could be better.

A great cafe and equally wonderful spot for a lunch! I stopped in here on July 4th weekend…read more(actually it was July 4th) when all other spots in town were closed. We had our pup with us, so spots where we could sit down were even more limited, but luckily, a lunch at Familiars was only a very long line away. While the group waited outside at one of the sidewalk tables, I went inside to order at the counter. I got the chicken salad sandwich and have to say I was so surprised by how delicious it was. I'm not from here, so from just the outside and where you order, I thought they were a cafe first with food options, but nope. Definitely wrong, they make a great sandwich. And the coffees were also delicious! Baristas and team were all friendly, the space inside was very cool, cozy and comfortable and they had plenty of outside tables as well. You order at the counter and they will bring all of the food out to you, you also grab your own waters inside. A nice mix of casual and service. If I was local or visiting when I needed a space to bring my laptop and get some remote work done, this seems like a great option.

When I first discovered Familiars I thought: "Finally a decent place in N'Hampton (detractors and…read morerump swabs, please hold your whining). To be fair there's plenty to like about this place but the fall from grace is both unfortunate and was avoidable. It boils down to a poor decision to change coffee brands from the excellent Counter Culture to some small batch, no name mediocre choice. Perhaps when this small roaster goes out of business, they'll switch back. They've fortunately stuck with Iggy's for breads and treats and the service and vibe remain strong.

Truly a hidden gem tucked away in an alley in quirky little Northampton. The vibe is a unique blend…read moreof a rustic modern loft and a chemistry lab with quirky elements reminiscent of the Addams Family house. It exudes a genuinely one-of-a-kind atmosphere. Depending on your order, your drink might be served in an Erlenmeyer flask, beaker, or Mason jar--which is very cool! As for food, it may be served on what resembles a dissection tray, adding to the distinctive experience. Iconica Social Club is a great place to catch up with friends, go on a first date, find a chill spot to get some work done, or catch some tunes (they have live performances). I stopped by with a friend, and we ordered the Cardamon & Honey Latte, Dark Chocolate Mocha Latte, and a slice of the London Fog pound cake. All three were delicious! Our order was ready pretty quickly and the staff were very friendly and attentive. There is ample indoor seating and outdoor seating. There is a second level that we didn't check out, but there is seating there as well. Accessibility isn't an issue, as most of the establishment is a single story with a ramp leading to the main entrance. Plus, there are two gender-neutral bathrooms located on the main level. There isn't parking directly near Iconica, so you'll have to find parking either on Main Street or one of the smaller side streets. I'll definitely be stopping by again the next time I'm in Northampton. Highly recommend!

Only reason I can't give 5 stars is because the staff clearly forgot about my sandwich (45 minutes waiting + a follow up). But they were very polite. All in all, would recommend. Great spot.
