Bento box with sesame chicken
Lubie A.

This was a sort of business brief lunch. Met a colleague of mine at noon, weekday. It was getting filled fast. I reviewed the menu on my way there: sounded inviting but the actual dishes were just okay. They were freshly made given it just opened, but my chicken and vegetables left a greasy layer over my palate. Sign of poor quality oil. My colleague had a bento box. I noticed she ate all but the sesame chicken. The service was flat: order, bring food, give a cheque. But it is a fairly affordable lunch /dinner place on the UES, 61& Lex, so this sort of in-and-out ambiance/service to be expected. 3.5 stars.

Gf chicken, Salmon Avocado Roll, Gluten Free Rock Shrimp Tepura

Classic American Asian fusion cuisine, not to be confused with Chinese or other more traditional Asian cuisine. This a gluten free person dream, and keeps all visitors happy! Great dine in or takeout place. Service is good either way and pretty fast

5 stars for the GLUTEN FREE general tsos chicken! It was SO good, gf or not. We also had spring rolls which were good, pineapple fried rice which was just okay (wouldn't get again) and a gf chocolate cake that was good! Highly recommend, especially if you're gluten free and missing chinese food!

Orange chicken gluten free

Sigh, another New York place I NEED in Arizona. Never have I ever seen gluten free low mein EVER. And it was sooooo good. Looked and tasted just like the regular version. Also got the crispy orange chicken gluten free (not on the menu but they said they could do it for us). I've missed orange chicken. So crispy and tangy and slightly sweet. It came with orange prices and spicy pepper!! Also some broccoli which was nice and white rice. Also got the crispy spring rolls because can't get that gluten free anywhere else. Divine. Came out nice and hot and had the perfect crunch and a delicate sauce to go with it. Split all this with a friend and we had enough for another small meal each the next day. I will be dreaming of this meal for a long time. Huge portions. Came out fast. The fried food didn't seem oily and gross. Pretty nice restaurant inside as well.

If you or a friend are gluten free, 100% head to this place. A couple of my friends are celiac/gluten free and hadnt had chinese food in ages, so they were really excited and this surpassed their expectations! Took a while to get seated a bit past our reservation time, but once seated, food came extremely fast and service was solid. Lettuce wraps were amazing, sesame chicken was super good. The thai iced tea was a great refresher. We felt the lo mein was alright but not as amazing as the others. Overall it was great food and i never felt like i was missing out bc it was gluten free. Its a casual NYC spot filled with groups of people, so nothing too fancy. Prices and portions were solid too! Highly recommend if in the area and want some food that is tasty and will arrive fast once seated / ordered.

GF Sesame chicken

Overall: the food, environment and service was good. We had the gluten-free sesame chicken, General Tso's chicken, and steamed pork dumplings. Both chicken dishes were fine but if you are looking for an appetizer I would recommend avoiding the GF steamed pork dumplings - they tasted very doughy (wish I went with the fried ones instead).

Shanghai Wontons

Did a quick takeout for lunch from Lilli & Loo on a Saturday afternoon and it worked out well. My order was prepared quickly and the staff was friendly when I picked up the order. Had the Lo Mein with Roast Pork (solid) and the Shanghai Wontons (wonderful)

Sushi was just ok. Service and ambiance was ok. Spicy Salmon roll was kind of junk. We should have kept walking. I wouldn't make this a destination. I wouldn't come come back either. NYC has great sushi this wasn't great. Recommend NO

My friend is gluten free and recommended we go try this place out since they offered both a GF and a regular menu! We walked in and were seated right away by the door at a small table! The place was packed! Like I mentioned, 2 menu's & a drink menu! They only have beer, sake & wine! I ordered a glass of wine, kani salad & chicken pad thai, he ordered bbq ribs & GF shrimp noodles. The food was okay - it wasn't as tasty as I expected - maybe a little on the bland side? We asked for some extra soy sauce on the side! All in all, if you're GF & want Chinese food, def recommend you give it a try! Service was quick and all the people working were very polite and positive energy overall!

GLUTEN FREE CHINESE FOOD THAT IS DELICIOUS! It is impossible to find delicious GF Chinese food but Lili and Loo have cracked the code. They understand how serious Celiac is and Sandy our waitress made us feel safe and taken care of. The restaurant is cozy and clean. The Sesame chicken was sweet and crispy, so were the egg rolls and the fried rice was amazing and the surprising winner? Their GF carrot cake and GF chocolate cake. I have also ordered delivery and it comes perfect and on time!

Pink Lemonade to go with my "Sexy Pink Lady sushi roll". Delicious. I enjoyed two!!

Delicious food, nice Service, nice prices. Some of my favorites are from every area of the menu, but whatever I've had here is delicious . Please see my earlier review for more details. The other night I went in and had some delicious wonton soup, crispy rice with spicy, tuna, one roll of spicy tuna sushi. And my pink lemonade, which I like a lot. Great food, great service. Food is served in a very timely manner. I really like it here. They also have a gluten-free menu with many selections

Gluten free House Dumplings

amazing gluten free asian food in the city. we really enjoyed the dumplings, the lo mein, and the general tso's chicken. a busy monday night, we did not have reservation, but they were able to accommodate us at the bar counter and had excellent service.

gluten free Szechuan Beef
Farhana M.

Needed some NYC styled Chinese food, specifically general tso's, ever since I had to go gluten free. This was incredibly crispy. However, the meal was extremely heavy and I was so tired afterwards. Service wasnt spectacular, they did their job and food didnt take too long. I also got the szechuan beef but this didnt particularly have the szechuan spice to it. Anyways, thankful theres gluten free options for asian food like this place

Honestly, I'm surprised this restaurant has a four-star rating. While the service was excellent,…read morethe food was consistently disappointing. We started with a lychee martini that tasted overwhelmingly of vodka, with barely any lychee flavor. Of the appetizers--the seaweed salad, cucumber salad, and edamame dumplings--the cucumber salad was the best. The seaweed salad tasted like a standard prepackaged version, while the dumplings had an unusual, unpleasant flavor and tasted as though they had come straight from the freezer. For our main dishes, we ordered the chicken teriyaki bento box and udon with tempura. The udon was acceptable, but the tempura was excessively oily, lacking the light, crisp texture you would expect. Even the chicken teriyaki was underwhelming; it tasted more like a reheated, prepared meal than something freshly cooked. The sushi was another letdown, with an odd flavor and appearance. The dynamite roll was especially disappointing, with an unpleasant texture and very little flavor beyond a touch of heat. The staff deserves credit for their attentive, friendly service, but unfortunately, that couldn't make up for the quality of the meal. We left feeling genuinely disappointed.

Every single fish is very high quality I find many places like the skimp out on the less popular fish but not Sanyuu West. I think the omakase is also at a very good price for the quality and amount you get though I know it is more expensive than maybe the average omakase spot right now. I also find that other spots usually underdeliver. I wish I could save more detail but honestly I have nothing more to say other than the fact that Sanyuu Weat amazing. The restaurant itself is also more spacious than I expected. Besides the main bar there are two sitting areas near the window as well as seats lined up to the bathroom to make yourself comfortable two things that I think are a rare find now in many places. A lot of thought is put into this restaurant layout and I think you can tell. The service was also great I found myself never lacking in water or waiting too long for my next piece. In fact, I had started to apologize about drinking so much water because I felt like the hostess was constantly at my side refilling my cup and she just turned to me and said, "don't apologize. Drinking water is very important." So true!!!! I'm very picky abt my recommendations to friends, I'll review any place I go to and give my thoughts but a real recommendation? It was quite a tiny portion but it's nyc lol. The only item we didn't love was the sushi - for me it was just a bit too much ginger and wasabi and since it was pressed it was already a part of the sushi so it was hard to separate. It is a really small place with around 6-8 tables so it probably gets busy at times and there may be a wait. One of the best parts of their menu here is that you can order sushi by the piece. My mom doesn't always have the biggest appetite so for her to be able to order only a few pieces instead of an entire roll was a huge plus! I had to crispy tuna rice appetizer and the dragon roll. Literally so good. I was seriously craving crispy rice and these were perfect. I would order this again and again. The sushi was fresh and taste great as well. Super glad we decided to come here!

Do of course I use Yelp to find something that catches my eye close by where we need to be. I found umami Sushi. We usually can't go wrong with Japanese food or sushi. We had no problems finding the place. The description said it was a small restaurant and as we entered the dining area was very small. Our hotel room was probably bigger. That doesn't bother me especially if we get there, there tables for us to sit comfortably. I also trust my judgment when I find a place that seems to be popular by the locals. The restaurant was empty when we arrived. We were the only ones there, but for some reason we bring good vibes to the places we eat because not too long after we placed our order, people started coming in, to the point that the small dining room was packed. I love Omakase style Service and what we ordered was a sashimi/sushi platter for three and two special rolls. I thought I got to choose the rolls but even that was chefs choice. I was just a bit worried that they would give us the cheap rolls like spicy tuna or California roll. The platter came out and it was beautifully prepared with a piece of sashimi for each of us and the rolls the chefs chose, ended up being two of my favorite rolls. The types of fish they selected were also great quality fish. We were lucky to have placed our order before the crowd came in our we might have had to wait a while because how they prepared it would have taken some time. The service was just right. Because they got busy right away, the waitress was forced to attend to everyone and couldn't really socialize with us. In fact when we finished our platter we were debating what we wanted for dessert but the waitress didn't even ask us and instead she just brought us the bill, so we said to ourselves, "I guess we're not having dessert here." So we paid the bill and gave an opportunity for someone else to take our table.
