Wings and "fried" rice for $12 bucks.. do better
    Keke C.

They need a new chef for the fried rice.. I want real fried rice !!!! It's like brown white rice.. and they are cheap on the sauce packets I got a meal and eggroll why am I doing with 1 soy and 1 duck sauce. Like come on

    Sad bland wonton soup

So disappointing since I'm so close to this place- saddest blandest most expensive not fresh wonton soup w 3 thin overcooked and underboiled 'wontons'; shrimp roll over fried/drenched w oil, and not an egg roll, fyi. Extensive menu but I'll not be trying anything else ...I came here on a whim, hungry and tired. No utensils our napkin given.

what is this rubbery what is this tasteless robbery weird pieces of food or whatever that I could not chew????? It was so nauseating

I keep trying it every year or four! I ordered in sesame chicken. The worst! Very dry, chewy, small little pieces, all different sizes and very fried and breaded! The worst I've ever had. I'd rather pay more and go elsewhere and for the same price or similar where it's better. Unfortunately, too many places over bread it but some don't! I feel like the chicken is shredded from someone that's leftover plate. And re-cooked/fried. Then I ordered moo shu. shrimp I said not oily. You could just cook it in chicken broth and if you have to use a little oil OK. It was overcooked and soggy vegetables with too much oil in it. The shrimp was not opaque. They were clear looking I don't mind the fact that they use small shrimp for that dish they have to for that dish, There is no quality here and with all the food poisoning out there and handling a food. I would be afraid to eat there again ever. I will not be trying this place ever again. It's gone downhill each time worse. I keep hoping for a miracle I guess. Stay away. Owner doesn't care. I was just telling her how I felt don't want any money back or another dish just telling her I won't be ordering anymore once again. She didn't care about anything! She said go somewhere else then They've been there so long. I wish a new one would come in. If people like that food, I don't get it. I guess some dishes are OK, but I don't know which. The place never looks real clean. They skimp on everything no plastic silverware no napkins no nothing anymore. Not a big deal but says something. I didn't even get a fortune cookie. PS I just wanted my fortune lol! I would stay away and I will never go back. I'm not looking to get sick and spend money for very very very lousy food of low quality. Wish I was writing a positive review would be nice if we had a new nice good food clean Chinese restaurant with a nice and caring attitude The green tea ice cream was the best thing! they didn't have to do anything to it! Sad pay 48$$$$ (plus tip )money for almost un edible improperly cooked, and the cheapest quality food. today we have to be even more cautious with all the bacteria out there and unhygienic conditions. sepsis can kill you!

Tofu and 106. Bean Curd with Spinach in Brown Sauce

Outstanding Asian food with so many vegetarian options... we loved them! Often times with Chinese food, we come across greasy dishes that don't provide unique flavors due to a significant amount of salt. But for this particular establishment, every dish appears well crafted and comes across as truly unique. The grease and oil remains minimal, and the texture for some tough vegetarian dishes was solid. If you like tofu- get ready for some variety. General Tso's tofu, string beans sautéed with fried tofu, you name it... they have it... Their pricing is also quite competitive with other neighborhood Asian restaurants. Delivery speed is great and their portions are plentiful. This is the #1 Chinese establishment that I've come across so far.

Was walking in the area with my mom and passed by on the way to a bakery, but good thing we turned back. One of the staff members opened the door for us. It's wheelchair accessible. Attentive and helpful staff. Great first impression of the place - garden decor, chandeliers/ambient lighting. Got the Creme Anglaise souffle pancakes - with fresh fruits, very light and fluffy, not too sweet. Ice cream sounded simple on the menu - though just a small scoop, it came with red bean paste, fresh fruits so not bad @$6. Rose latte is rosy of course with crushed petals. Liked the food presentation, cute spoons. Will surely return. Restroom available.

The soufflé pancake was unfortunately quite mushy, without much of a bite to it. The salmon was fresh but the cuts were on the thinner side, so it was decent but nothing extraordinary. The aesthetics look nice and welcoming, but the service was more cold and distanced; would definitely improve the mood if the servers were more social and friendly! Our server forgot one of our drinks, and didn't ask if we wanted our lattes sweetened or not, so we asked for simple syrup to sweeten our drinks ourselves. To our surprise, we were charged for simple syrup as shown on the receipt as a custom item...never have I been to any restaurant or cafes where you had to pay to sweeten your own drink. Unfortunately, this cheapened the experience and made it feel like you're being nickeled and dimed by a pretty restaurant. Not sure if this is the restaurant's/owner's rules or just the server being incompetent/not efficiently trained. We dined at 2pm on September 9th, 2026, as to not get other servers in trouble! Overall, Vert Frais definitely has a lot of potential of being an amazing Japanese brunch spot, so I hope this review can help them reach their truest potential! Thank you for reading and best of luck! (:

The squid, beef and scallops were very tasty. The veggies tempura were freshly fried and delicious. Could have been drained a little better. Salmon crispy rice was a hit but the star of the show was the sushi and sashimi deluxe and the blue Toro roll. Amazingly fresh. Dashi Okume sells ... you guessed it ... dashi. They sell several kinds, and you can taste all of them there in the shop before deciding which to take home with you (I tried them all and went home with one bag of vegetable dashi and one bag of sweet shellfish dashi). They also make custom-made dashi. You can choose from around 30 ingredients - dried fish, seaweed, mushrooms, and vegetables. They grind it up and put into individual bags for you. Such a fun idea, but I thought I should try some of their pre-made dashi options before creating mine own. They also sell miso, rice, noodles, rice seasoning, seaweed, tea, and other items. I picked up some Japanese mustard, seaweed, and rice seasoning to take home with my dashi. Beyond being a great shop, they also have a cafe area where they offer a teishoku set meal - you pick your fish, which comes with tea, rice, miso soup, pickles, and sides. They also offer an omakase popup. The shop is beautiful, and the service was very friendly and helpful. I'll certainly return for more shopping but next time I plan to make a meal of it and try their teishoku set.

My boyfriend was the one making the dashi, so I perused the fun goods while he built his base. The dashi does take some time to make, so you can select your blend, then leave for a while and come back later.
