OK...once again, I tried this place because it seems that everybody in Rochester goes here and loves this place. I decided to give it another try. 1) business hours state Mon-Sat 9:30-7:30pm. I got here at 940...not open. They did open at 10am, so I didn't have to wait as long as last time. I will say that this experience was better than the last. I was the first one there. The staff were friendly and the nail tech caring for me took her time! I went basic as I still feared that they would mess up or not be able to do what I like, and just got pedi. They even offered to go get a nail polish color they didn't have. Overall, I probably still won't come back but at least I tried

Ok lemme tell ya'll a little story, I went into the salon today to get a gel manicure. I do my own gel nails at home, but I like to get a manicure every few months because it's difficult to clean up my own cuticles and such, plus treating myself is always nice. Anyway! I get there, tell her I want a gel manicure. She asks if I want to try the gel dip powder, I say sure why not (a friend of mine regularly gets the powder and they always look great). So I pick hot pink, and a little glittery action as well for my ring fingers. She gets started and it's already not looking promising..she did three layers of this powder, when two would have been more than enough. We both forgot all about the glittery powder, so she was like oh I'll put it over the pink. I said it's fine, we can skip it. She assured me it'll be fine. Ok. Nope. Not fine. I started asking if it'll look different once she's done, she said yes. It didn't look glittery at all, it was just a clump of silver and white. She's finishing up and it still looks like a HOT FREAKIN MESS. I tell her that I don't like it at all, she said 'oh that's an easy fix', and uses the drill to try and buzz the powder off (repeatedly cutting my finger in the process). She gets most of the white/silver nonsense off and puts literal GLOBS of glitter gel polish over it. By this point I'm over the whole ordeal. I want her to just stop touching my nails and leave it be. I shrug it off saying it's fine, pay, and high tail it outta there. Then spend over an hour at home filing, and melting this junk off with acetone. It was clear she didn't know much about using gel powder, and I will never return to that salon again for any services. The only reason I even went there is because I've heard that people love it there, and my regular place was crazy busy. Also I figured, how hard is a gel manicure? Any salon can handle that. Apparently, I was mistaken.

My fingers were filed and it hurt and there were divots made in my nails all because he kept looking up and away. He told me what type of nail I needed when I came in 3 times with pictures of short, square nails. Somehow they looked like barrels. Told me the polish would fill in the divots. Nope. Had to go back on 2 occasions. He wanted to file the nail in awkwardly angled to get rid of the divot. Service there over the years has become terrible.

On 5/16, I came in to have my nails done after previously having builder gel with tips applied the month prior. The man who did my nails was gruff and he grabbed my hand/began cutting away (painfully) at the builder gel on my nails. I must have looked horrified as he then started angrily exclaiming that the nails were acrylic and had not been done at their establishment previously. Both were untrue and I asked him to stop cutting away at my nails. I was then hurriedly switched to a different nail tech. My nails were cut down per my request but at uneven lengths. The tech pointed this out to me and asked if it was okay. I said I preferred the lengths to match and be more uniform. At that point, the nail tech I started with stood up and told me to be patient and that they were not done. I never complained but simply replied to the second tech's question. As she continued doing my nails, I felt an intense burning sensation in my left index finger. She then applied liquid to the nail that left me even more uncomfortable as the burning intensified -- my nail had cracked through the builder gel to my actual nail. The burning continued and the tech gave me a shy smile. Things were wrapping up and I, once again, felt a sharp burning sensation. My same index finger was burning. The tech profusely apologized as I was now bleeding from the cuticle pretty briskly. I was disappointed as my previous encounters were fantastic and this was very off putting. Upon payment, I was made to feel like I had done something wrong as the gentleman who originally started my nails began chastising me for the entire encounter. I have had my manicures and pedicures last over a month and have typically had a great experience. I will give them another chance but will request to not have the gentleman who was very rude and made me feel extremely unwelcome and uncomfortable.
