I love the smell of an acrylic manicure. I know it's probably killing me softly but being in a no-frills nail place with the smell of formaldehyde and an Us Weekly is my happy place. I walked in to Joy Nails for the first time at 4pm the day before a holiday and the place was packed. It's smaller than a lot of nail places I've been in but they use the space effectively, with five pedicure stations and six manicure stations. I was super nervous I would have to wait a long time as people with appointments were walking in but they seated me within a few minutes. (They take walk-ins as well as appointments, which I'll remember for next time.) I can hang out forever in one of those foot-sized hot tubs so I was fine waiting. I don't love massage chairs for some reason - they always feel a little rough for me - but I will recline the crap out of a pedicure chair. No shame in my lounge game. My nail technician was very polite - and FAST. I think he was done in 30 minutes. Love it. If I want a relaxing experience I'll go to Del Monte but when I have a dinner to get to, I like to get in and out. Everything seemed clean and the prices are very reasonable. They don't have walls and walls of polish but the selection was good. They also do airbrushing, which intrigues me. I follow a woman on Instagram who is always showing off her rhinestones and other crazy nail art. I may try it, when I'm feeling frisky. I didn't spy any magazines so bring a charged cell phone or plan to work on your meditation. There is a TV in full view of everyone so maybe next time I'll plan my trip around Ellen. It's like a social event getting to speak with someone next to you while sharing a great experience. I haven't gotten acrylics done on my nails in over a decade. I got a suggestion to go here from one of my friends. I was sat immediately with a smile. Unfortunately I do not remember the lady's name who did my nails, but she was very friendly and gave me exactly what I wanted. She is very talented. I couldn't have been happier with the results. For a French manicure with hot pink tips it cost me $40. That's what I remember paying way back when. Because I am in nursing school I can't get my nails done regularly but in the summer when I do get them redone I will come back here. Make sure you tip! Don't waste your time! Even with an appointment they will have you sitting there for a 30-45 mins waiting without even acknowledging you.

I've been coming here for over a decade. Prior to covid I was a monthly customer. I had not been since February 2020, until yesterday (April 2021). To my surprise, they made many upgrades during my hiatus! (This place looked the same for over 10 years). They've made many improvements and there is more space inside. They have taken many sanitary measures for covid, including better traffic flow, better layout and the use of plexiglass barriers. I always expect to wait when I go, this place is quite busy. You can make an appointment but you can still expect to wait. I recommend an appointment if you want to go in a group. I went on a Saturday at 11am and got right in, but many people came right after me. I've heard Saturday afternoon is less busy and a good time to come. But most of the wait is because they take their time and they do a good job. I love this place and the people there and expect to be a customer for another ten plus years. I been there 3 x and every time I go to just get a fill they charge me 33$ or 34$ when clearly I was told it was 30$ . Mind you my nails are short . Today was the worst nail refill I've got .she used so much gel nail polish, that looks so thick and so sloppy. She was in such a rush I dislike service like that. I will never go back . I have tried to like Joy Nail Salon but have been cut too many times with electric drill/sander. In the past 6 months I was cut multiple time twice drawing blood. And their chemicals burn the cuts. Came here on a Wednesday at 11:30am for a refill .. there was barely anyone there probably like 2 females. As soon as i walked in i was welcomed like if they knew me for so long ! I felt comfortable ! I went for a refill and their prices is $13 & up i Got Charged $15.00 plus and extra $1.00 for using debit .. I was treated well and not sure who did my nails totally forgot to ask but i was very happy with my results ! Will be sticking to that same nail tech ! I made the fatal mistake of going to this nail shop for a pedicure and ended up with a foot fungus. Even worse I returned to speak with the owner and she had nothing to say other than "when you come back I take care of you". Take care of me how? You should be first apologizing to your customer and then offering a solution to the problem. For example how about a gift card ? The truth is most business owners are happy/delighted to get your money/business but have no sense of ownership for incidents such as these. I will never go back to this shop it has been a horrific experience. I also made it a point to notify potential customers because nobody deserves to pay for a foot fungus. read more

Although the people who work there are extremely nice, and can speak really good English, and the price was really, really, cheap, my nails turned out horrible. I picked a sparkley-blue, acrylic color tip. they dipped my finger in the blue sparkles. it was extremely weird, and not only that, but this morning (the morning after i got it done), right below the colored tip, there are huge air bubbles, that look yellow. Julie did such a great job. Generally a new set looks bulky and thick, but mine look gorgeous. My only suggestion to them would be the cleanliness.
