I recently visited this nail salon within 15 minutes of their opening time, as both their website and storefront indicated that walk-in customers were welcome. However, upon arrival, I encountered a language barrier as the majority of the staff seemed unable to understand English. As a Deaf individual who primarily communicates using sign language, this made it difficult for me to effectively communicate my needs and understand their policies. After struggling to convey my desire for a service, I was informed by an impatient staff member that they were not accepting walk-in customers due to being short-staffed, with most of their workers being on vacation. While I understand that staffing shortages can occur, I was taken aback by the lack of clarity and communication regarding their current availability. I suggested that they update their website to reflect this information for the benefit of other potential customers, but this suggestion was met with hostility from the staff. One worker became visibly upset and began speaking loudly, seemingly under the assumption that I would not be able to understand. This behavior was unprofessional and disrespectful. As a customer, I expect to be treated with courtesy and understanding, regardless of any language barriers or communication differences. Overall, my experience at this nail salon left me feeling frustrated and disrespected. I hope that the management will take steps to improve their communication with customers, update their online information more accurately, and provide better training for their staff in handling diverse customer needs and situations. read more

I just moved here from Fl and have tried now 5 different salons and after paying twice as much at four other places I have found my new salon in rochester! Inexpensive , very detailed job they have colored acrylics which is a huge deal to me because I love getting colored tips !! My nails look better from Orchid than any of the other 4 places I've tried ( which were all top dollar salons!) I have to say if you are looking or trying to find good quality work and gorgeous nails that last this is the place to go!!!! read more

My frugality gets in the way of salon treatments, ask anyone. The first thing to know about Beyond Nails is that if you pay cash, you get coupons to put towards your next visit. And for a $30 pedicure, it's worth it to use the cash. On my last visit, I had a $5 off coupon from a previous visit available to me, resulting in a $25 regular pedicure. Can you beat that on most occasions? I usually can't. It's not just the convenience, the cash, and the sanitary procedures that would keep me coming back, it's that you get an amazing deal and a pleasant experience. I got my nails done here before my wedding and I absolutely loved the experience. I chose a regular pedicure, which always lasts forever, and gel manicure, knowing my tendencies to flake. During the pedicure, my legs were pampered with hot stones, completely included. Normally that's an add on, and here it's part of the regular pedicure. My gels lasted a few months too. This was one of the only times I didn't chip off my nail polish and my wedding nails lasted for a few months ultimately, with natural nail growth being the reason the polish eventually retreated. I made appointments on my recent visits, but things were spaced out enough that you could probably walk in without much incident. When choosing your polish, take note that some of the regular polishes do cost a little extra. Otherwise, the nail salon experience is one that you'd expect from a nail salon, as opposed to a place where things just seem hectic. Beyond Nails is a great choice for a spa-like day, and Twelve Corners is lucky to have them. Remember to bring cash!

In fact, the client who was there before me was still being helped when I left. The gel was applied sloppily, with polish all over the skin, and the overall result looked rushed and careless. I paid $51 and tipped $7 -- mostly because I didn't get a chance to inspect everything closely, and frankly felt pressured by the owner's impatient attitude and pointed looks. As expected, the gel started peeling off within 10 days. Gel polish is supposed to last at least three weeks, so this speaks for the quality (or lack thereof). Places like this feel more like assembly lines -- quick in, quick out, and zero attention to detail. Sadly, this wasn't even my first disappointment here.
