I ordered a twin mattress over 3 weeks ago and STILL have not received it. In fact, there is little to no communication from the store as to the status. I live in NYC. Surely, there are many distribution centers and warehouses nearby. Had I known this, I would have gone straight to Amazon or Walmart where you know where you stand every minute throughout the purchase process. Never again, J.C. Penney. J C Penney has been around for a long time. It's safe to say they're survivors with all that the economy has gone through in recent years. I've always liked their selections, sales and promotions. Yesterday while picking up a few gifts for friends, I stopped into Penney's to look for something for myself. The store was quite busy, 1 cash out line had approx. a dozen people waiting, and this was with a couple of cashiers working. The article I wanted was sold out in my size but I must say the price was right, plus I had a coupon. Penney's is good with coupon discounts. I think I'll try the Greece mall, always had good luck there. read more

I am so disappointed with this store. Compared to other JCP's in the area this one really has gone downhill... not to mention how it compared to stores on the West Coast, such as the store in Escondido, CA. This store used to be gem but it is now run down with limited selections and clearly not thought out with some of the layout changes. read more

Went here for the Thursday Thanksgiving opening and got our scratch card. We both received $10 like most people, though we did hear a couple people received $100. This is a pretty big store with lots of stock, but the Nike clothes were priced pretty high, and I couldn't use my scratch card for any of them. Lots of Levi's jackets and jeans which was nice to see. I don't like how slow the check out experience is here, we waited forever to pay for our items. If they were smart, they would do something to speed it up to make for a better purchasing experience. read more

JCPenny used to be the place to shop for all your clothing needs, but it's hard to compete with Target, Old Navy and all the other stores out there. Where I usually shop too.. With that being said I was in there today to pick up an online order that offered free shipping to the store as well as a great clearance price. I walked in looking for the customer service desk/area to pick up my order, after a few minutes of wandering around I found a employee who directed me upstairs to the towel section.. that apparently doubles as the online pick up station. There was a long line here for only two cashiers, I was #7 in line..... they could use more cashiers in this store. Once I made it to the cashier they located my online order somewhere in the back room and they allowed me to use a online coupon I found on my smart phone while I was waiting in line. The coupon was good for 15% off the entire order. Overall experience was just ok, they didn't seem to have a large selection of items from what I had noticed. But the big tip here is look online for extra coupons to use on your order! read more

OK, JC Penney isn't cool, but then again I'm past the age of using that as a criteria for shopping. So after visiting Kohl's and and Lands End unsuccessfully looking for end-of-season swim trucks, I decided to venture into Penneys. I think the last time I was there was years ago for window shades, so am certainly not a regular customer. The store is clean and well-organized. It was a bit busier than Macy's was before it's demise, so that's a good sign. There was even a salesperson in the mens' department who directed me to some closeout racks with 70% off signs. And there was a good selection in all sizes to choose from. So I found what I wanted at a great price and was in and out of the store in minimal time. I actually thought I did much better visiting a real store than shopping online! read more

This is a review of the JC Penney salon solely. I have gone for several hair and eyebrow wax appointments over the last year. The salon itself isn't all that nice looking or modern, the place could use some sprucing, but for the price you pay you can't ask for glitz and glam. I absolutely love Sarah for hair color and would recommend her 100 times over. Plus she's very kind and always a pleasure to talk to (you really get to know someone during a 3 hour cut and highlight). Can't beat the price for her skills! read more

I love JCPenney! I can always find something I want or need at a reasonable price. They always have things on clearance, and their coupons are some of the best around. Most times the sales person let's me use the same coupon on separate orders to really save. For clothing, they are one of the best when it comes having a big n tall selection. Being a bigger person it's hard to find things to wear, without having to go-to a store that sells exclusively for bigger people, where everything is super expensive. Which is why JCPenney rocks in my opinion. This location has always had the best big tall selection. They also have an elevator to get to the second floor of the store. Which is nice for people who use wheelchairs, or parents with stroller's who don't feel safe using the escalator. read more

JC Penny's... still going! With Sears withering on the vine (see http://fortune.com/2016/02/09/sears-stores/), you have to wonder what's "in store" for JC Penny's. At least the retail stalwart has some fashion sense. We stop by here all the time, it's a well kept store and has kept up with the times. Hopefully, with the inclusion of Dave & Buster's @ Marketplace Mall, the traffic will improve there. However, with the recent closing of the Gap among other stores, it doesn't bode well. read more

My local JCP so I seem to be in here more often than the Victor location. I love checking out their Christmas attire, I can always count on JCP for a great ugly sweater. This store is always clean and staff are always ready to help. I really enjoy looking at the jewelry. For some reason the display is always eye catching and I find myself looking for a new blingy purchase. I always can rely on their purse selection too. My mother and I have walked away with some AMAZING purses from here! read more

JCPenney seems to be a dying department store, getting lost among the new wave of young adults wanting a more worthwhile experience. On the other hand, JCPenney still manages to maintain a solid ground, providing a good amount of clothing and accessories to men and women of all ages. This is where this store falls under as it's not overly exciting or a "must" to visit but it's still there to satisfy the majority of shoppers who just want nice clothing at average prices. They have a good selection of clothes to be found in this store including the most loved clearance racks where you can browse many unique items that have simply been discounted because they are out of season. You can spend a good amount of time here just looking and even if you don't walk out with anything, there is plenty to choose from. The store is divided up alright and it's kept relatively neat and clean even though there is the occasional misplaced item on the ground every now and then. On a whole though, the upkeep by the employees is handled well and helps create a pleasant atmosphere for the store. Customer service can be a chore depending on which person you get. Some of these employees are likely to give you attitude for no apparent reason but even with that, they do make sure that your needs are satisfied. The helpfulness and the attentiveness are there so even if you feel like they aren't giving you the amount of attention you need, they are doing their best. Fair service overall and I haven't been disappointed by any of them but your results may vary. It's a good mix of suburban style chic and middle class fashions that are likely to appeal to the "suburban" families around here. This store still feels to be lacking a bit in some areas but overall, it's a good destination for a quick shopping trip and compared to the other department stores in the mall, this is one of the better ones. read more

I shopped at the JC Penney at Marketplace Mall yesterday. Every worker that I came in contact with was either miserable, not smiling, or talking crap about another employee. I understand how crappy it is to work the day after a holiday but you are in the customer service business be greatful you have a job! So I went to check out, and the cashier didn't even greet me or anything she continued to carry on her conversation she was having with another employee, I questioned her about the price of 1 item and she acted like it was a big deal to look at it letting out a sigh and rolling her eyes. Definitely don't won't return here again if ever. read more
