Unfortunately, when I got home, I saw that there were magnetic security tags at the bottom sides of the blouses. This was extremely inconvenient and I had hoped to wash them and start wearing them immediately. I had a busy day and rushed to the store this evening to get this fixed, and unfortunately arrived 10 minutes later than closing. I saw the same worker exiting and asked him if he could help me take out the tags on his way out and he said no, and that I had to come back again. He said sorry as I walked away. I just feel very frustrated that I need to come back a third time when this could've been wholly prevented; the self-check out machine could've informed me to go to an associate to take out the security tags before I left the store, and the security alarm could've gone off as I was leaving! What's the point of a security tag otherwise? I hope that this issue is addressed so it doesn't happen to anybody else.

It's a more organized offspring of a thrift store and a church Bazaar. Nothing fancy, but they're true to their slogan,"Good stuff cheap". And cheap it is. Sometimes I find things that are less expensive than at Dollar Tree, only 4 doors down in the same Plaza. That said, you can't always find what you're looking for, but you often find something that you want or need. Hence, kind of like a church Bazaar. It's either maddening as heck or fun, as you sift through the bargains and wend your way to the back of the store to see if that close-out on carpets is something that you like. It's one of those polarizing places. Either you love it or you don't. Ollie's sells many name brand things, from Men's, Women's, and Children's clothes, to accessories, Health and Beauty aids, lawn and garden supplies, art, crafts, pet and school supplies. They have a nice book department, and sell things like Bible covers, Sudoku, crossword puzzles and word searches, as well as books for toddlers to adults. Yes, Ollie's even sells food. Nothing perishable, but you can find anything from Pink Himalayan salt, to candy, and cereal, to your favorite junk food, like pork rinds and cheese balls. I've even found jars of marinated bell peppers, huge jars of minced garlic, and if you like flavored coffee, I've even seen flavored coffee syrups and creamer. True, Ollie's might not have it all, but they sure have a lot of Good Stuff Cheap.

I will start by saying this Walmart is an older one and doesn't appear to be set up on the more modern style Walmarts are going too. That being said-the water was at the back of the store which would've been okay except there were no carts. I attempted to purchase 3 bottles of alkaline water but to my dismay, the cashier snatched them up and told me she couldn't sell them to me. I tried to clarify but she didn't really give a good explanation other than they couldn't be sold and then called a manager. The manager came to the register, didn't acknowledge or address me, or provide a solution other than to radio to someone to take the remaining bottles off the shelf. Not a great interaction but I can't say I'm too surprised. Also if you're not local, you may not be used to paying for bags-just a reminder for those visiting out of town.

I also threw in a pencil case to my order as I started a new job where I'll need one. I never imagined having to wait 25 minutes for two items. I kept calling the posted "pick up number", which went to voicemail each time. The main store phone number just rang and rang. There is no option on the app to message anyone. Staff members were taking their sweet time, talking and laughing with customers. The first staff member I asked about my order walked away from me. The second person I asked for an ETA said "I don't know, I just bring the items out." Luckily the final employee I interacted with, who brought my items out, was friendly and professional. As a last screw you to the customer, someone decided to put a pickup sticker directly on my pencil case, so it's all sticky and damaged. Do I dare try to get a replacement at this mess of an operation?

Today I was working on another Yelp project and did indeed see the store closed, lock, stock and barrel. I did some research on it just now because I'd heard there were some interested buyers so I'll share the article with other Yelpers and the public. Big Lots has completed a deal that will save up to 400 of its approximate 950 stores from going out of business. The closeout retailer said that it has successfully closed its sale agreement with Gordon Brothers Retail Partners that will enable Variety Wholesalers to acquire between 200 and 400 Big Lots stores and up to two distribution centers. Variety plans to operate the stores under the Big Lots brand. Big Lots, which filed for bankruptcy in September, announced the deal at the end of December, after its plan be acquired by Nexus Capital Management fell through and the retailer said it would hold store closing sales at its locations nationwide. "We are pleased to close this strategic transaction, which provides a framework to preserve thousands of jobs, maximize value, and maintain the Big Lots brand," said Big Lots president and CEO Bruce Thorn. "We are working closely with the Gordon Brothers and Variety Wholesalers teams on this transition. We are grateful for the continued hard work and dedication of Big Lots associates across the Company." As part of the deal, Variety may employ Big Lots employees at the acquired stores and distribution centers, as well as select corporate associates needed to support Big Lots' go-forward footprint.

It's trendy fast-fashion and inexpensive. Quality is commensurate with the price. There are well defined arrows leading to the cashier for social distancing. All the employees wear masks and it is required for customers, too. They also provide hand sanitizer on a table right inside the door. The store is well laid out, bright, and well-stocked, except for accessories. They've only been open a few weeks, so I was very surprised to see an almost depleted accessory area. I was looking for inexpensive hair accessories for Daughter. I was also looking for a certain hair product for her. The female cashier came over to help me; she was very knowledgeable and friendly. She used to work for Rite Aid and said the product I was looking for is something that Rite Aid carries. She seemed genuinely interested in helping me, and that's what put them at 4 stars.
