By far the worst Walmart I've ever been to.... And that's saying a lot. Started on the parking lot, lots of shopping carts piled up and scattered everywhere. Maybe the cart collector was on a break or they need help. Garbage all over. In the store in wasn't much better, trash n the floor, in desperate need of a sweeping. Grabbed my few items and wanted to get right out. Long line at the self checkouts... about 15 people deep. But surprisingly only 5 self checkouts were open. There were 3 Walmart employees just standing there watching all of us... but really only one would help out if needed. Learned a lot as I stood there for so long. Another employee came over and we asked why they only had 5 opened her response was that's all we need... to many employees just standing around doing nothing... At the exit another employee wanted to see our receipt... either trust me to do your work or get rid of the self checkouts. Funny thing is he told us all he does is look to see that it's the correct store number... these guys are beyond unprofessional. Very sad. Definitely not coming back to this dump. read more

I don't shop here often because I don't live in the area. But I must say that this store has on a few occasions had articles that I've needed. Today I needed a printer cartridge for my printer. I went to Hudson avenue Walmart, sold out. The salesperson had no idea about when any product would be shipped and stocked. And I may add it wasn't easy getting a sales attendant. At this Walmart on Dewey avenue on a few occasions I've been here and had no problems. The sales attendant a young man named Miguel was very attentive and professional. I realize things are different nowadays due to the Virus but sales people should have an idea or try and get information for the customers. And on a final note, this Walmart is always clean, and inventory is always in place neatly. read more

I usually give a business a few chances before writing a bad review. I've been to this walmart well over 100 times since I moved to Greece in 2015 and I won't be returning. The customer service workers in electronics are useless. Today, I was working with the department manager Doug, and we picked out a tv, told him what we wanted and he advised he would bring it up to the electronics register for someone to bring up. We browsed around for another 20 minutes or so, and still, no one had brought up our tv so we could pay and leave. We had to ask the cashier to have someone go get it again. She even called for the manager and in the 10 minutes it took to get the tv the second time, he never showed up. Last week we had a cashier ring us out that didn't say one word to us. Not hello, not the total, no have a good day. Literally nothing. It was such an awkward encounter. The only reason for a two star is some good prices. I'd rather pay a little more to have someone help me with my purchase and at least some greeting and thank you for the hard money I spend there. Will not return read more

Yo this place is bad. The worst Walmart I've ever been too. Shelves were empty and things are all over the floor. Broken items everywhere and the only cash register that was open was this poor little nervous white girl getting yelled at by the customers while there was 6 employees laughing and joking around not even trying to help the long line or angry customers. Not sure what to say about the leadership but maybe start divorcing those lose employees from their financial opportunities. read more

How much time do you have? It will take 20-30 minutes to get checked-out. Usually 2 to 3 registers open with the slowest most unhappy cashiers known to mankind or maybe use the self-check...only 20+ people in line. Good luck! read more

This is the better of the two Greece, NY Walmarts. I like the location of this one because it is around other shopping stores and good fast food around also. The store is larger so you can find what you're looking for, most of the time. Employees are hit or miss with politeness. Sometimes you get ignored when looking for help. For a Walmart it isn't the worst I've seen. read more

Better Walmart then the other one in Greece and way better then the one in Irondequoit. It is cleaner then the other two but the majority of the employees do not speak any English so you can not get much help or answers. I wish they would stay open later, Covid or not the hours aren't that convenient anymore. read more

This. Walmart. Is. Definitely. GHETTO. And special. Every time I go to this Walmart, this store is forever busy with customers and the check out lines are outrageously long. Only because there's only 3 registers open. The self check out is long well. Everyone wants to check themselves out; ok fine, but that doesn't mean to take 2 carts full of items to the self check out! Employees refuses to say anything about this. Just stand there and chew their gum and talk to coworkers. The store isn't always clean when I venture there. And the fresh produce is definitely not fresh. I saw some white fuzzy patches on some fruits (I wasn't buying any fruits, just walked past to the vegetables). I also noticed some spilled liquid, that just sat there. No towels, sign, mop, nothing that shows an attempt to clean up the mess. As many employees I see roaming the floor popping gum, I can never find one to help me retrieve something or for assistance. I wanted to buy an exercise equipment and a bike, but no one was available for help. I needed help in the auto department, and in the home department, and I needed some products from the very top shelf, and again, no employees were in site. Just my luck?!?! Walmart does have all the items I need - all the time; it's just the atmosphere. And be wary of your a person of color. The 'greeter' will stop you and ask for your receipt - and the white folks just walk out with their Non bagged items and your items are in bags. read more

Hi I just wanted to give a shout out to Heidi Martrano who helped me and my friend find a matress cover .I was in line and asked her if she knew much about bedding and she said yes somewhat and asked me what I was looking for.she finished up a customer then told her teammate she'd be away fr the register to help me.she took us over to the product and was SO HELPFUL.Never have I received such great customer service in this greece store.most of the employees ignore and go about their business discussing their 'drama 'with other employees.really hate shopping there but I still do at times for a friend..please give her a raise of 10.00/hr! read more

I have tried several times to accumulate a group of items we are in need of at home. Each time, 80-90% is unavailable. The last time I actually went to the store, several weeks ago, most of the shelves were nearly empty. Am not sure I will be returning to this store once this virus passes. They certainly don't seem to be concerned about helping their customers through this crisis. The national ads paint a great picture about all the Walmart is doing to help during this time; however, that's definitely not true about the location I typically use. read more

Okay, have you ever gone shopping for clothing, knowing your size and fit only to get into the dressing room to discover nothing fits! This Gasface goes to Walmart for their two sizes too small pants. I walked in the store wearing a size 33 waist which is one size too big for me. So erring on the side of caution I went with a size 34. To my shock and horror I couldn't button them up! After checking my jeans and trying them back on without my belt, they fell down. Shocking! So thank you Walmart for distorting our perception of our bodies. Thank you for the negative body image culture. This Walmart is a Walmart with a capital W. It sucks. Two stars is because one manager was nice and did her job perfectly!!! But ... Just recently a cashier was screaming to another employee while "helping" us how she got out and all this crap.... Who was on meds, drunk, etc. Ok, I am there with my kids and I don't want to hear all this stuff. Employees do not respect customers and do whatever they want. Is it really the truth that there is nobody to hire? Anyway, I didn't like Walmart and I keep not liking it. :) Update: 8/22/2018: I found some managers are really nice and helpful. They ask if I found everything. Some associates are like with "don't care" attitudes. But today was something! I was shopping for an hour before work to find out at the cash register that they accept only cash. Probably my least favorite local walmart. No one ever smiles. Employees walk around scowling or with no expression at all. Went there to return cans once and all the machines were full. After watching someone leave from waiting for so long we waited for a good 15 minutes just to have a disgruntled employee come out and be rude to us about it. The cashiers seem more focused on socializing with each other than assisting customers. The past few times I have been there the automatic cashiering is always malfunctioning, and the last time there was just one employee with 3 or 4 people having issues with the machines. I don't even waste my time looking at the clothing but that's the same with most Walmarts. read more

One of the store managers Holly was VERY rude and nasty towards me when i needed assitance with my return. She brushed me off and wasnt even trying to help. If i could give 0 stars because of her i would. I had my recipt and origonal packaging and she refused to give me a refused to give me a refund because .50 cents of my total of 21.99 was paid with store credit. Maybe she shouldnt be in retail if her attitude is going to be so negative towards customers. Then again with that attitude i understand why shes in retail!! read more

The one on Ridge Road West is much better. Here's my latest beef (and this has happened more than once): For some reason, they've had to close one entrance a couple different times. They couldn't be bothered to put a sign up saying it's closed, so half their customers are going to that entrance, discovering it's locked, then walking a long way out of their way. How hard is it to put up a freaking sign? I've even tried complaining and gotten nothing but excuses. No "thank you for telling me" stuff ... just excuses. Put up a damn sign. We called to find one specific item and every single worker we talked to did nothing. They pretty much held the phone in their hand and waited a couple seconds and then came back and said they couldn't find it. Also the receptionist named Tammy was lazy and was no help at all and would hang up numerous times. I enjoy this Walmart. They do keep the store clean and they do work hard keeping the shelves organized and looking good. They are helpful when you need help. Like that they have a Subway inside and a Eye Center. I enjoy coming here for the convenience. I have friendly cashiers and they do smile back. New to this side of town (unfortunately) and this shit show is the closest Wal-Mart. We know Wal-Mart is known for being ghetto and I have no problem with that but this one is ghettoer than most. Ive witnessed employees singing, dancing, throwing merchandise, juggling merchandise and giving me the stink eye for needing a product in an area near where they're standing. Wal-Mart is famous for their awful wait times but when the self check out is off here get ready to age where you stand, just awful. I've also noticed a lot of the merchandise is a return, taped up and put back on the shelf and plenty of items are sold out, I've gone looking for things and sometimes there isn't a single one from any vendor and I have to go order the item online. On the plus side while waiting for the lone associate to help me at the end of a long line of clients in electronics the gentleman was very nice and friendly despite having to deal with many demanding customers at once. I'll pay more at wegmans or order from Amazon from here on out. read more

Come to shop 10:00 at night at Walmart that is open until midnight and all these employees walking around yet there are two lanes open with the store still open 2 hours! Line going around the corner not worth waiting for anyting you walked around the store for nothing! Waste of time, their loss. Employees all in their phones walking around fingers up their assholes yet two lanes open for how many customers?! Talk about pathetic no, keep your welfare recipients will go to a better relocation with a smarter crew! Being that it is new it is clean and shiny. However, like most Wal-Mart's the waiting tone to check out is awful. It is slow and the cashiers are not friendly. Even the self check outs are nothing to write home about. It would be nice if the self check out was limited to only a few items. Most people who get in this line have carts full. Once it has been open for a while I don't know that it will improve. Time will tell. read more

I prefer this one to Hudson because it's alot cleaner but the staffing isn't much better. They act as if I'm bothering them... This is your job! They all have attitudes and the customer service desk is a joke. They will make you stand and wait while they finish their conversation and pretend they don't see you. If you do manage to find an employee on the floor, expect an attitude. This is why I use self check out. read more

Tends to get pretty busy. I enjoy the cooked food options and order markets. The pharmaceutical department is helpful and informative.

Only been there a couple times before I left Rochester and it definitely gives Hudson Ave a run for its money concerning the ghetto factor if anything I thought it was worse. By far one of the worst walmart's i have ever been to. Now After the initial craze of it being open. its terrible. always out of common items. The electronics department is especially terrible. Upgrading your phone there is just beyond hell. cashiers are especially rude. especially the people checking receipts at the door. they can watch you check out and want to look at your receipt and give you a hard time. Also dont ever think about calling to ask if a product in ANY dept is in stock. you will be on hold so long it goes back to the main person & they eventually give you attitude & hang up. Even speaking to the store manager is a joke. I dont have very high expectations for a walmart.. but its just beyond poor customer service & shoddy product ordering. 99% of the time everyone is very respectful and helpful at this Walmart that I go to often. But I would say the pharmacy people are the most impressive. Besides being knowledgeable and quick, they have provided our family with special service when we needed it. Very much appreciated! read more

As of 11/23/15, I am highly disappointed in the customer service, and product condition of the Dewey Avenue Walmart. I purchased an Intex queen sized air mattress with a built in pump (or so I thought) only to find that a few hours later when I opened up the box at home, that was not the case. Inside this box, was a poorly folded, USED AND STAINED air mattress, which was also the incorrect color, size, and did not have a built in pump; how this got into my hands as a consumer, I do not know. Inside was nothing but this mattress- no guide, patches, packaging- nothing. Immediately after this discovery, I drove back to the walmart, and stood in line at the customer service desk to be told that they cannot refund opened boxes of air mattresses. I explained to the assocaite, and to a manager, that I could understand why in a normal circumstrance where someone was maybe simply unhappy with the particular mattress, that they couldn't be granted a refund; but to deny a refund to a loyal customer, that ended up with something incorrectly packaged, used, and stained, left me aggitated. I was told twice that I could only exchange the product for one at the same cost due to the fact that my box was open; I argued that obviously the box had already been OPENED beforehand and TAMPERED with, so I felt that it was unfair. I unhappily agreed to an exchange, hoping that I'd get the actual mattress that I went in for. When the manager came back, she told me "this is the only one we have left," which came in a completely mangled and torn apart box. She cut the tape, opened the top of the box, and revealed to me that it was still in it's packaging, however didn't remove the mattress to assure me that it wasn't damaged. I now have the mattress inflated at home- so we'll see how it holds up. I am normally not the person who writes reviews, in fact this is my first review ever written, but I felt that as for someone who enters, and purchases from this Walmart on a daily basis, that I'd better voice my opinion. read more

My family & I shop in this store on a regular basis. I am in there 3-4 times a week, The employees are friendly & helpful for the most part but the parking lot is a mess. 90% of the time I pull into the parking lot carts are all over the place. I have a new car & I am concerned that one of these days I am going to come out of the store & my car is going to be damaged by one of the loose carts. A lot of time I push carts in that are around my vehicle to try & avoid my vehicle being damaged. Also upon entering the store there are no carts in the vestibule. How are customers supposed to shop if there are no carts available. I go into the store at different times throughout the week & it doesn't matter if it is during the day or evening. I just ask that you have your lot employees do regular checks of the parking lot & if you aren't going to have anyone working during the evening hours make sure all the carts are brought in before the lot person leaves for the evening. I was in the store on 2/23/15 around 10:15 pm & took photos of the carts all over the place. It look like someone attempted to get the carts together about 20-30 & then just left them in the middle of the parking lot. read more

Unbelievable! DANGER! Forget the dirt and non-existent customer service except for Johnny and another lady at the service desk. I wasted 40 minutes there today and saw several grocery carts by customer service with lots of frozen items and fresh meat and poultry just sitting in them. If they throw it out, guess who is paying for it. Bigger concern is the useless "managers" have the employees put it back in the coolers and freezers. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE! read more
