Updated review. If you are a huge book lover you will be happy to know that their shelves are finally full of books. I went there about 2 weeks ago and was overjoyed to see their back shelves full of books! I also wanted to give a shout out to the employees at the Brockport location. Everyone who works there is so nice, down to earth, and helpful. You won't find a nicer bunch of people who are friendly and treat the customers with kindness. When they were scanning my clothes 1 dropped on the floor and the person scanning it stepped on it and through it under the counter

I had a quite a few things to donate- men's and women's summer & winter clothing. I went to the Brockport Goodwill because of the drive thru. I pulled up and two gentlemen who worked there immediately came out and grabbed my stuff. They were both very friendly and efficient. Which was a nice surprise. As I was there about a year ago and the worker was not as friendly or helpful and told me I had to get my stuff out of the car and put it on the cart. So I'm happy that they have since gotten better in the customer service area. read more

I am disabled and have a large load of donations for good will so I tried to schedule a pickup. They have a partner company run by Veterans who does the pickups for them, i said I have about 8 garbage bags with clothes and such, a car seat, baby bath tub and baby music mat. The gentleman then preceded to tell me the price of the pick up - $259! Are they for real?? Salvation Army will pick up clothing for free but not baby toys or furniture because they do not clean anything. I would have paid $25 for gas but $259 made me sick to my stomach. read more

I went to the Goodwill in Brockport today with my almost 2 year old and 3 month old. we don't go out much but when we do it's the Goodwill! Well that was until today. After donating some clothing, we went into the store to look at coats... we didn't find any coats.. to be honest it was hard to find anything. Kids sizes/clothing item/ gender all mixed together. Regardless, we obviously are in front of the toys at this point and my son is pointing and saying bus! He finds a small bus and literally plays with it throughout the store- 45 mins later i go to check out. Now the good will is my place! i will tell anyone and everyone and I always say BROCKPORT... but as I go to check out the last thing given to the cashier is this bus... she looks at it and says "There isn't a price tag I can't sell it" She then hides the toy from my crying toddler who is pointing again BUS BUS! She tells me it's policy... im annoyed but keeping composed I ask to speak to the manager. The manager is already overheating what's going on and rudely comes over and repeats the same thing to me. I said are you serious i will pay you $5 or whatever you want for this toy... it's not about the toy... my son has had a rough day he's not feeling well & this toy has MADE HIS DAY... the manager smiles and says no im sorry that's the policy. I even asked if he was able to just donate it as I JUST donated items 45 mins ago... nope it will be repriced and put back on the shelf.. okay so this may sound petty to some but to me.... it's the principle. I have given them my service for over 7 years & spent way more money than I should have on all their used items... and because their employees did not do their job correctly my toddler was punishd... and yes I say punished because the toy mommy gave him for being a good boy was now taken away because thats "policy". i drive an hour here and an hour home each time.. stopping on my way to help keep the kids happy... sadly I won't be making that drive again to Brockport Goodwill. Other Goodwills have Free toy boxes and literally give away toys... It costs NOTHING to be a decent human being! read more

Goodwills have been popping up all over Rochester but I really like the Brockport location, hidden behind Walmart. I always find great outerwear, sweaters and shoes here. They have lots of costume jewelry, bags and a large housewares selection. In the winter they pulled a lot of the trendier sweaters out and put it in the main aisle rack for people shopping on season. I work in the medical field and found lots of expensive scrubs here for a buck a pop (originally 50 bucks just for a top) which is awesome because who really wants to spend their paycheck on work clothes? When I was student teaching this was the place to go to buy the essentials as well, black and brown slacks, button downs and suit pieces. BOTTOM LINE: DONATE & SHOP at GOODWILL STORES to -help your community -get everything recycled properly -shop in a store that has quality items at a great price -purchase gently used items to give them a new life with you! read more

Horrible service!! I will never go back again! I saw this table that I loved. I needed help getting it to the register. when the worker saw me walking toward him he started almost running the other way! after chasing him to the other side of the store, I asked him for help. He was very rude and treated me as though I was stupid in saying"welp ya just have to go stand in line like everyone else n tell the cashier & they will have someone go get it for you." I said thank you and waited in line for 15 mins. when I got to the front the cashier in ethe "jewelry" section said he would take the next person and the lady BEHIND me went to that register and then the lady BEHIND her at the same time I was getting to the register. I told the lady I needed help and she asked if I had the tag. I told her the worker didn't tell me I needed the tag, he only told me to go to the register. At that time they called someone to help with furniture to the jewely counter so the lady told me to go over there for assistance. sure enough the lady 3 people BEHIND me in line had already told them she wanted MY table!!! I was FURIOuS!!!! HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND ZERO STRUCTURE!!! I had been looking at these certain types of tables for months and been to every shop around for 75 miles!!! it was a brand new $300 table for $17. I am still fuming I didn't even get the other items I wanted. put them back and left. They will never get a penny from me! and to make it so bad a friend of the family had just told me a few days prior that the same thing happened to her so I asked her if it was the same store... sure enough!! They need to train better employees and a lesson on how to run a business!!!!!!!! read more

I shop all the Goodwills around the Buffalo and Rochester areas, and the Brockport location is the very best one. Nice merchandise always neat and clean. Very Friendly staff. I live 40 minutes from Brockport and I am there 4 times a week. Keep up the GREAT WORK!!!!! read more

It's either a decision to head to Greece or Brockport just to decide which Goodwill to go to. Considering the size of this Goodwill, it's more than I likely that I will sacrifice the fifteen minutes to drive over than to go to the Greece location. This maybe one of the largest Goodwill outlets I've seen around Rochester but because it's tucked away behind Walmart, it isn't noticeable from the main road...good luck trying to find it on your first visit. This Goodwill is divided into two major sections which I will call the left and the right. The left section is all clothing, shoes, hats, and jewelry which is reasonably priced according to the so called "value" of the item. The men's section is sadly lacking in contrast to the ladies which get about 3/4 of the entire left side to themselves while us men just get 1/4...shame. The sweaters, t-shirts, and hoodies range from meh to "alright" most of the time, in my own experience that is. I recommend browsing clothing racks thoroughly to close in on a "nicely priced" or "nice looking" top or bottom, they are in their somewhere. The middle of the store is a bit of a mix-mash of assorted crap and junk that rarely anyone seems to pay attention to. The back section is home to used pillows, blankets, tablecloths, baskets, and wooden items. Never bothered to buy any but most of the stuff listed is averaged around $0.99 to $9.99 depending on the item. The front rotates in and out with holiday items and decorations. With Christmas now two months behind, the holiday theme isn't very apparent and the shelves just misc. stuff that is just filler until the next holiday arrives. The right of the store is where the amazement happens... To the right in the front by the registers you'll find CD's, Cassettes, DVD's, and Video Games stacked upon shelves (no VHS...pity) and in a container in the center of the floor. I have found that CD's will always be priced at $2.99 or $1.99 but never above or below that. Unfortunately, Goodwill likes to tape up the cases so it's difficult to check the disc to see if it's in good condition without trying to look like a thief, I wouldn't recommend doing it. The DVD's and video games operate the same way with them being taped shut and they range from $2.99 + depending on quality, gaming platform, movie popularity, eBay semi-value and so forth. However, I nastily have discovered that people rip the tape off the case, take out the disc and place the case back without the game or DVD in it...which means Goodwill has to discard the case if no one will pay for it...wasteful! Anyways, I have better luck here finding quality games and CD's for some odd reason but I can just assume it's luck for me coming in at the right time...like last week for example. It was 50% off all items with yellow tags so I was able to get four video games (1 GameCube, 3 PS2) for a total of about $7.50 when the going price for each individual game was $4.99 each...all were complete too! I wasn't able to find any audio Cassettes worthy of buying as now I see that I pretty much bought all the good ones that were left with only the really obscure "classical" tapes remaining...$0.99 ain't worth it. To the far right is the books games, a modest selection for anyone who doesn't want to use a library or wants to buy a book because they just love it so much they never want to stop reading it. The board games go quickly but they are maintained well in a neat fashion, no concerns there. The middle of the section consists of kitchenware, glassware and office supplies in the front and dolls, porcelain figures, pictures, frames, and kids toys in the back. I don't go down these rows often but when I did, I saw a lot of really nice toys and dolls in great condition which Goodwill only wanted a few bucks for...not bad at all. The back right is where the furniture, lighting, electronics, appliances.The furniture is situated in the center but is rather small for a store this size, but it's still cheaper then what you would find at the Salvation Army. The sports equipment is a bit lacking at times and the lighting has mostly lamp stands and bulbs but seems to suffer from shade syndrome, not a single one to be found anywhere! Regardless, the entire back wall starts with clocks on the left which continues into the electronics. Now that Goodwill decided to stop selling CRT's, it feels a bit empty without a hundred TV's smiling back at you with most being replaced with keyboards, printers, and a bunch of old wires and cameras no one will ever buy. However, I have found some nice items here like a box fan, iPod charger, phone case, and an alarm clock. I found nothing in appliances but I'm sure someone who likes to cook would enjoy the adequate selection Goodwill offers. I believe I have found my favorite Goodwill to visit, despite the monotonous journey. Not convinced to visit? Give it at least one go, maybe you'll find that one item that you realized you just needed. read more

I have had a few bad experiences here but some good ones as well. Bad: One time I bought a $100 item from here to make my neighbors life a little easier because she is crippled. I asked if it worked and they said "yes, if it doesn't work when you get home, bring it back and you can get a refund within 10 days." Needless to say, when I got home it didn't work and when I brought it back the next day, they would only give me store credit. Another bad thing about this location is that A LOT of things on their shelves like electronics and toys are broken beyond repair and they still want quite a bit of money for them. Also, a lot of the clothes are badly stained on the racks. On a good note, I did once get a 46" LG flats creen tv here for only $200. New it would have cost probably $1000. This is one of the best Goodwills you'll ever go to. It is always clean, all the clothes are washed and smell nice, and it has a great selection of items. Everything from ball gowns to old record players, to couches, to that quirky pair of pants your hipster niece wears. And the prices are amazing. Shirts are around 4 dollars. I've once spent 25 bucks on an entire summer wardrobe. And these aren't 1970s old shirts grandma donated (well some are, but that's cool too), they're nice shirts, quality pants, and barely used furniture. Great shop, and compared to many other Goodwills I've been to, it's basically a luxury department store with super cheap prices. read more
