Highlight: A budget and affordable shoe store that reminds me of Shoe Carnival. You have shoes that…read morerange from heels to sneakers to flats to flip flops. Some shoes are super comfortable but don't last long, and others are uncomfrotable and pinch the toes, but the good thing is you can always try these out before you leave the store. There's also lots of clearance shoes at all times. Pro: You can find almost any affordable shoe here- nothing is super branded name but are functional and great for everyday use. If you look closely you'll find the pink sticker label. You can even download the app and get a membership and start earning points to get 10$ off 50$ and other great deals like BOGO. Con: a lot of these shoes are budget- therefore are not the most comfortable at times. Some are super comfortable but obviously not meant to be worn to nicer events. All depends on what you're looking for.

Famous Footwear is awful. This evening around 5:00pm I went to the 660 Jefferson rd. location in…read moreHenrietta, NY. I went to purchase a pair of pink adidas (http://www.famousfootwear.com/en-US/Product/50267-1031176/adidas/Bloompink_White/Kids+NEO+BBNEO+Raleigh.aspx) which were priced on sale at $41.99. The sales associate rang them up and said that they were $59.99. I told her that they were supposed to be $41.99 and so she went to check the price on them. She confirmed that the shoes were indeed priced at $41.99. She then called her manager over the do a price change for me. The manager never acknowledged me when she came over. She then asked the sales associate what the price for the shoes was. The sales associate replied "$41.99." The manager said "No, that's not right." and then took her price checker and walked away, still without acknowledging me in any way. A few minutes later she returned and said very rudely "Yeah, these shoes are $59.99. I can't give them to you for $41.99." I replied "I am not paying $60.00 for these shoes when they are clearly priced at $41.99." Then she asked me if i had a rewards card. I did, so she then proceeded to take out a calculator and punch in some numbers. After a moment she looked up at me and said again very rudely "Well, I can give you 20% off which would make the shoes $47.99." I said "No it said these shoes were priced at $41.99 and I'm not paying more than that." She said "Well, that's the best I can do." So I said I don't want the shoes and walked out. This manager, was very rude and unprofessional. She never apologized once for the inconvenience or the mess up and argued with me the entire time even though the sales associate confirmed that I was correct that the shoes were priced at $41.99. Needless-to-say I am appalled at the behaviour of this manager and have NEVER had such a terrible experience at any retail store and I will not be returning to a Famous Footwear ever again.

I tried to time it correctly so the shoes would still be fresh for my race in September, but well broken in. After doing some research and being heavily influenced by social media, I landed on Hokas for my budget, the longevity, and their ubiquity. You will get paired with a salesperson upon arrival no matter what your intent is, so go in expecting that. I had heard good things about the fitting so I did that, got my cute little report, and tried on a bunch of different shoes. The salesperson was great about going and getting different sizes, etc - I just feel uncomfortable with that level of 1:1 attention/eyes on me when making a purchasing decision, so that was more of a con to me than a pro. No room to breathe and make a decision. They were also busy and I felt like an imposition somehow? Vibe was a bit off. ANYWAYS - it would have been more helpful if the salesperson had simply asked what I was looking for and allowed me to peruse before running in the back to get shoes - I could have saved myself some time and left a little less frustrated. They won't have all the colors available, and I knew I wanted plain black and white...which they didn't have in store. It was still good to try stuff on, but I was hoping to get the shoes that day. Luckily I was able to order directly from the Hoka website (free shipping!) and they came within three days. I feel really bad about not being able to make my purchase through the store, but I look forward to continuing to utilize Fleet Feet for all my other running needs as we get closer to race day! I am grateful for the huge number of races they put on each year through their sister company, Yellow Jacket, and appreciate the convenience of bib pickup here for other races I've run in the past.

I bopped by the UA store after a Trader Joe's run to grab myself the Under Armour mask and take…read moreadvantage of their BOGO 50% off sale today. The store is quite large and clearly does pretty great business, likely thanks to the sales they run on a regular basis and a strong email marketing program. Now that I am vaccinated I am back to a regular fitness routine, with masks still required. I take intensive HIIT classes so I was on the hunt for a mask that was breathable and stayed on and most folks pointed to this UA option. After taking my first class with the mask on I have to say I am SO underwhelmed. I had more success with a surgical mask and silicon bracket. The UA mask, while nice bc you don't inhale it, is really thick and dense with no breathability, making my face so hot the entire time I was working out I had like...swamp face? I couldn't get deep breaths in. The mask is nonreturnable and PRICEY at $30 so this is a disappointment. I'll use it for walks and brisk activities but am bummed out about they hype vs the experience. I digress - I also picked up some WAY marked down workout tanks and a new sports bra. Everything is easy to find and the staff was helpful and courteous. At least I got 50% off the bra with purchase of the mask? WOOF. If you're an athlete or have a kiddo who loves the brand, this is a great spot for deals. Happy shopping! Skip the UA mask for cardio!

The customer service has been so-so when I've visited. There's more than enough staff to help the number of people in the store but not overly helpful, I had to track someone down more than once for assistance. They've run some decent sales, they seem to be a pretty good mix of an opportunity to purchase new styles but also an opportunity to get good stuff at a reasonable price if you catch a good sale. It feels like they have a better selection of men's clothing vs womens. The right half of the store is mostly men's, front left is women's and back left is children's. Wish they had a bigger selection of women's clothing.
