Owner Dalida Atallah has really brought something special to Rochester with Dado. One trip to her store and you will understand her aesthetic, the girl has impeccable taste. If that's not enough the store is impossibly clean with each of the garments hung perfectly spaced apart while center tables hold accessories. A type A personality who understands the importance of presentation? Whats not to like?! Be warned: Though Dado is just minutes down the street from Marshalls and TJ Maxx, it is expensive. The store carries high end brands like Elizabeth & James and more popular brands like French Connection but don't let that scare you away, Atallah has great sales (Up to 30% off) often so its worth a visit. Perhaps some holiday money could buy you a fabulous New Years Eve dress. It's possible you've gotten a glimpse of what Dado has to offer if you've attended any of the local fashion shows. Most recently a Dado show raised over $100,000 for the Wilmot Cancer Center. A small business helping a local charity makes my 8 minute drive to Pittsford worth while. I ate lunch at the local cheesecake factory and I noticed that there was a J.Crew in the strip mall that the cheesecake factory was located in. Going into the store I was very nervous that they were not going to have any cardigans. I went into the store and a very attractive girl was working inside. I went up to her and I asked her if they had any cardigans in stock. She told me that she didn't know if they had any cardigans but she was definitely going to check for me. She ended up finding six cardigans all of the same color and different sizes. They only had one size medium left which was fine because that's all I needed. The girl was very nice. I told her that I needed to get this for a dinner that I was attending. She was talking to me for a little bit and checked me out. When she rang my order up I handed her a $100 bill and she looked at me funny. The tag on the shirt had said $79. So I just had assumed that it was $80. She told me that the cardigan was only $20 because this was a J.Crew factory store. They have crazy deals at the store. If they had four different color cardigans I could've bought 4 for the price of 1. I told the girl that Manhattan the price you see is the price you pay. This J.Crew is a J.Crew factory store which means that they have a lot of discounts. Most of the stuff that they had in their store was not from the 2015 line of cloths. The factory store tends to carry older or whatever items that were left over from major J.Crew stores. Overall I do recommend coming here they have really good deals. I am a classical musician who performs a lot, so after my old black suit started to deteriorate, I decided to try out Valentin's for a higher quality suit. His in-house brand is fantastic in its quality and value. I am tall and thin (6'1", 165 lbs.), and the more "European" cut fit perfectly. He really knows what he is doing, and is accommodating to all sizes and budgets. After this, I also bought a navy blue suit from him, which I asked to have shipped to my apartment in Baltimore. However, due to covid, shipping was delayed. Valentin called me personally at every step of the shipping process to let me know where my suit was and when he estimated it would arrive. When it arrived, I didn't even need to have it pressed, as it was clearly packed by someone who knew what they were doing. My hope was to have a nice suit which would remain stylish and would give me an incentive to fit into it as the decades roll along. Having always had difficulty in finding well-fitting suits off the rack and wanting something appropriate for the occasion, I decided to invest a lot of effort into my search. Although my local area has a few brick and mortar menswear shops, I had no luck in finding a garment which appeared as though it was well-enough made or would end up fitting superbly. Reading reviews of online made-to-measure companies made the offered rebate toward final tailoring of their garments at a local shop seem like more trouble than it would be worth. So, worried that I would not find a well-fitting suit meant to withstand the test of time, I started looking into brick and mortar made-to-measure shops. A number of online shops touted their laser measurement systems and their well stocked bars which would indulge your fine taste. Reviews of those shops made it apparent that the main thing a customer was being sold was a mediocre product slathered in snake oil. Stopping into other shops, which gave off the aura of offering bespoke garments, made me realize that they were selling the same sort of thing, a fancy measurement service which was more image and mark-up than anything else. At wits end, I was reluctantly talked into trying on a Hugo Boss tuxedo at the mall. The sales clerk insisted it looked stellar on me, even though the trousers made my legs look like tightly stuffed sausages with satin stripes. More frustrated than ever, I finally learned that some shops still existed which would custom make a suit. Some of these shops were in Toronto and one was in Rochester. After some comparison shopping, I called Adrian Jules. I spoke to John on the phone; his confidence and knowledge were palpable. He described the process of building a custom pattern from a series of measurements, the process of building the suit, the fitting procedure, and the company's commitment to quality in that they would work to make sure your suit would last the test of time while being refit to your body. Coincidentally being in Rochester and hearing all of this made me set my course for their store. At the store, it appeared that there was quite a camaraderie between the owners, John, and the customers. Still a bit leery, I let John lead me through the process of figuring out what sort of Tuxedo would be the best for my wedding. He showed me a plethora of fabric swatches ranging from nice wool to some really magnificent materials. He took a great deal of time sharing his recommendations for fabrics, colors, and cuts. Although I had hoped he would have pushed me harder in deciding, he wanted to make sure that the Tuxedo I was buying was what I wanted and something I would be comfortable. After dozens of measurements being taken, I ended up ordering a hand stitched midnight blue mohair tuxedo with black satin peaked lapels, a linen shirt, a pocket square, and a bow tie. After ordering my tuxedo, I learned that many clothiers who advertise their suits as being bespoke are actually made to measure units which are outsourced to Adrian Jules. In fact, it appears that Adrian Jules and another whose name escapes me, are two of the last firms who produce custom clothes for many of fine shops around the world. Although there are still some places in the world where a suit may be entirely constructed in house from measurements made by a tailor, there is a very good chance it is being sent out to Rochester. At Adrian Jules, it was clear that they controlled every aspect of the creation of your suit, and were in fact making you a bespoke garment. It took a few weeks for the suit to be ready for my first fitting, but I drove out as soon as it was. I tried it on, and the quality was unlike anything I had seen before. There were some fit issues on the first fitting which needed to be taken care of (then again, that is the purpose of a fitting) and I realized I wasn't very happy with the cut of the pants as they a featured a bit more taper than I was comfortable with. John assured me he would take care of everything. After a few more fittings, the Tuxedo was perfect. It felt fantastic and looked the same. Personally, I am shocked that there are so few reviews on here and the internet in general for this fantastic shop. If you're looking for a good garment, look elsewhere. If you're looking for the best, go to Adrian Jules.

He came and found the bra with the help of a sales person. He said she was great and nice but kind of pushy. She wanted Adam to get a bigger size for me and wanted him to get a different color/pattern then what he had planned. Adam knows me too well and stood his ground and got my normal size and the color I would like the best, which is just black. When the sales person finally gave up on the pushing for the sports bra, Adam asked about yoga pants. They found a pair that I would like but Adam ultimately put them back when he saw they were just shy of costing $100.00. They store does not offer their pants in short length however, they will hem the pants for free which I think I would prefer because then I know I am getting the right length since sometimes shorts are still too long for me. Fast forward another week and it is my birthday. I got the sports bra and I tried it on. I was a little iffy as whether or not it would provide the support I wanted while running even though it is a high impact sports bra for running. I asked Adam what the return policy is and he said the lady who helped him said 2 weeks and that I can try it first. I wore it the next day to the gym and it was not supportive enough for me to run 10 miles in without discomfort so I washed it and brought it back to the store. The person who helped me stated they normally wouldn't take the product back since it didn't have the tag attached but he would do so anyway which I was thankful for. I just got Adam's money back but I looked around the store and was impressed with the amount of product and variety there is. Comparing this place to fleet feet, fleet feet has a better return policy which is seriously helpful when buying a sports bra but this place offers more which is going to get me into this store. The only down fall is how expensive it is. I won't pay for some things like $100.00 yoga pants but I will certainly pay about $50 for my shorts since they will be worn more and I like to know I will have the quality that can stand up to my rough work outs. Whenever I am in the Pittsford area, I like to pop into NTY's consignment shop for some gently used…read moreworkwear. I made a point to stop by today because the sister Clothes Mentor locations in Greece & Henrietta have closed. I plan on entering the store when I am driving down Monroe Avenue toward the Pittsford Wegmans, so I can make a right hand turn in. Upon exiting the lot, I usually head towards another store towards Pittsford Plaza so I can make a right out of the lot. Trying to make a left and crossing two lanes of traffic is extremely difficult. Lots of the brands they tend to carry are J. Crew, Free People, Lululemon, Loft, Calvin Klein, Old Navy, and some Marshalls/Nordstrom/TJMaxx brands. Designer bags and shoes pop in the store as well and are often featured on their Facebook stories. Currently, they have their racks of summer seasonal wear out, and lots of athletic wear. The owner told me she was going to make a jacket and blazers rack soon this week, after clearing some more space. Some items are priced well, others are a touch higher than I would like to pay but it really depends on the brand and the type of item. Today I left with a cobalt blue Banana Republic skirt ($12), a red Mario Serrani pencil skirt ($10), and a Loft blouse ($14). With the tax and a check-in discount, it was $33. The store is requiring masks to alleviate the discomfort of other shoppers and staff. They are offering 10% off with a Facebook check-in to help promote the business.
