Whenever I am in the Pittsford area, I like to pop into NTY's consignment shop for some gently used workwear. I made a point to stop by today because the sister Clothes Mentor locations in Greece & Henrietta have closed. I plan on entering the store when I am driving down Monroe Avenue toward the Pittsford Wegmans, so I can make a right hand turn in. Upon exiting the lot, I usually head towards another store towards Pittsford Plaza so I can make a right out of the lot. Trying to make a left and crossing two lanes of traffic is extremely difficult. Lots of the brands they tend to carry are J. Crew, Free People, Lululemon, Loft, Calvin Klein, Old Navy, and some Marshalls/Nordstrom/TJMaxx brands. Designer bags and shoes pop in the store as well and are often featured on their Facebook stories. Currently, they have their racks of summer seasonal wear out, and lots of athletic wear. The owner told me she was going to make a jacket and blazers rack soon this week, after clearing some more space. Some items are priced well, others are a touch higher than I would like to pay but it really depends on the brand and the type of item. Today I left with a cobalt blue Banana Republic skirt ($12), a red Mario Serrani pencil skirt ($10), and a Loft blouse ($14). With the tax and a check-in discount, it was $33. The store is requiring masks to alleviate the discomfort of other shoppers and staff. They are offering 10% off with a Facebook check-in to help promote the business. read more

Great place to find gently used name brand clothing. My daughter wanted to buy herself something from Lulu Lemon with her savings, but I didn't want her to spend all of it on one item. On a friend's suggestion we visited and to our surprise there was a whole rack of LuLu Lemon brand clothing. She was able to find a couple of things within her budget. I am extremely disappointed. I don't often, if ever, give one star reviews but this was a very discouraging experience. I purchased sandals over the phone two weeks ago here and was offered shipping. I live 20-30 min away so I could have went in but they said it would only be $10 and they would be shipped the next day. With two toddlers and home I took the easy way out and went with the shipping! A week goes by and they haven't shown up. I called and they said they were still in the store. The woman said the owner had some personal things and guaranteed they would be sent the next day. Another week later still no shoes. I call again. The girl on the phone said "Oh! They're still here!" Obviously, I am frustrated. An event I was planning to use the shoes for has since passed. I asked if there was anything they could do to compensate me for the wasted time. She said she would have a manager call first thing in the morning. The following morning, no call. By 1pm I call the store and the manager answers. She said there was no note left for her but seemed familiar with the situation. Said the shoes were no longer there and they must have been mailed. I asked why there was no communication and if there was anything she could do. She said she had no authority and would ask the owner. Finally, the owner called. Again, no answers for me. I asked about the empty promises and if there was any compensation (store credit or refund). She said they don't normally do that and all they could do was offer a refund if I brought the shoes in! 1. She is the owner. She has the authority to make those calls. 2. This in no way makes sense as I would have to make the trip to the store which is why I went with shipping in the first place. 3. She said they don't guarantee shipping the next day. Her employee did however. Therefore, make it up to your customers. It's not our fault that your employees are giving wrong information. I was counting on the word of your employee... twice! TERRIBLE customer service. I am extremely disappointed and will steer all people away from that store in the future. read more

This is a truly awesome secondhand store. The collection is extremely well curated. You don't have to sift through a bunch of unwanted stuff like you do in other stores to get to some really great pieces. They have really done a great job picking and choosing their items. I think the price points are really fair and reasonable. The store owner and employees are extremely friendly. I got some amazing pieces including a Tory Burch bag for an excellent price. I will definitely be visiting her on a regular basis. read more

This store is like an "upgraded" Goodwill. Most of the items are more well-kept thus clothing prices usually start around $10, hats $5, shoes $15 perhaps. Clothing they carry in a nutshell: Old navy, Gap, a lot of J.Crew, Target brands, Marshalls/TJmaxx brands, Free People, Athleta, Anthropologie, just to name a few that popped up during my visit. Many shoes look unworn and in excellent conditions. Some designer handbags are available but I did not pay attention due to lack of interest. Prices can go up to a couple of hundreds. One thing I wanna point out is the lack of mirrors. Only one outside the dressing rooms. It was not convenient for customers to see how things might fit when we just wanna have a quick look. read more

You can find j.crew, free people, lulu lemon, express, Vera Bradley ... And much more. There is always a chance to find some great things here. I was told that a pair of shoes would be put on hold for me, and then they were sold immediately. They are unreliable. I would not recommend shopping or selling your close to a company who will not be fully honest with you. I used to highly recommend them but even being someone who spent a lot of money they're I still got lied and cheated out of a pair of shoes I wanted. Also when I bought a bag online it had marks on the bottom because they were not honest. I recommend Poshmark. They will give you much more for your clothing. read more

I am so happy to have found this great shop! They have some of the best brands at truly great prices. Most designer jeans and sweaters were under $20! I got a pair of Lululemon leggings for $28 and an Athleta hoodie for $24! The store is clean, well organized and the employees were very friendly and helpful. I am definitely coming back! read more

I was in here a few days ago with my mom and as someone who buys a lot and sells a lot of clothes I needed to write this to help others. NTY is over priced and dirty. The clothes smell like they are not clean. The atmosphere isn't friendly and the staff isn't either. It is over priced and I wouldn't recommend. If you're looking to sell your clothes I would highly recommend Plato's closet instead. They will give you way more money for your clothes! Hope this helps read more

First time at NYT. Had high hopes for this place after Platos Closet. Thought they might take my cool stuff that losers Platos Closet wouldn't take. Dropped my stuff here today. Took 45 minutes for them to look at my stuff. I looked around the store, and saw that their clothes were just as ugly and teenager - ish as Platos. The styles were something you might find at Salvation Army. I don't mean in a good way. They take other brands than Platos may not take, but they don't look "older" than clothes at Platos. Not at all. The owner didn't take a single thing. Off to Salvation Army! I think alot of good fashionable clothes that these stores won't take ARE going to Salvation Army. Sometimes you can find great stuff at S.A. Oh well. I won't be back to these cheap places. Not saying you can't find some cool stuff in all their crappy clothes. But it is RARE! read more

I have been a customer with NTY since they opened; never had any issues. Today, during a recent visit, I had an encounter with a rude employee. I was on my phone, having a conversation with a family member, I mentioned that the girls(employees) werent observing the social distancing recommendation and that I would move to another aisle to keep my distance; so that they could finish their work. An employee overheard my conversation; before I had the chance to finish my sentence , the rude employee interrupted my phone conversation by projecting her voice over mine to " set the record straight". I dont have any tolerance for rude individuals, so I made reference that I will follow up with Julia, the owner. The employee, eagerly called Julia to let her know that there was an incident that took place( dramatic) in the store, all while failing to mention her indiscipline and delinquencies. Talking to Julia was worse than having the encounter with her employee, Julia refused to acknowledge the employee's indecent behavior and downplayed my concerns. I will not return to this store again. I will take my money elsewhere. read more

Good luck trying to actually sell your stuff here. They have a crap selection and when you try to bring them nice and stylish clothes that people would actually buy, they don't take it or try to give you lowball offers. I was told some of my stuff was denied for "style and condition" when most of it was brand new and purchased within the last year which is funny because after looking around almost all their stuff was in poor condition and looked like it belonged in a Salvation Army in 2008. Also, If you're not bringing in a Louis Vuitton don't even bother. They tried giving me $5 for $80 never worn shoes that I know they were going to sell for at least $30 and when I mentioned how ridiculous that was the girl told me I would not get more than $5 anywhere else (I since have sold the shoes for $60 so jokes on her) anyway, they offer crap service and crap selection of clothing and you're better off donating your clothes and you might as well just shop at goodwill. read more

This place was recommended by a friend so I thought I'd check it out. They had two racks of 75% off merchandise which I found a few things on. When I went to check int cashier tells me they aren't on sale. I pointed out the sign that clearly says the rack is 75% off. She wouldn't give me the discount and didn't even apologize that it was marked incorrectly. My friend raved about the 75 percent off deal which I why I checked out the store. Im big on consignment shops. I am always able to find a new staple peice here and there and always love getting asked where I found things. In a way it's kind of like vintage to me. I love consignment and living in NYC I can see where trends fall and then come back year after year... something old could just seem new suddenly. However, I just had the worst experience of my life. I brought in a storage bin...and then some, of very well taken care of, gently used, and even new with tags items. I never like to have expectations for how much I will get back, but I don't do it for the cash, but more so to recycle. I shop whilst they dig through my things and most commonly end up with only a few bucks in my pocket after trading most things. First issue: The store is primarily women's clothing. So why was a man the one in charge of buying. As I said previously, I have lived in NYC and gone to ever thrift and consignment shop there is. Having a sense of womens' style is one thing, but being a woman maybe would be another asset? I think? Second issue: I recieved a small amount, when I was confused by seeing how much was leftover in my bin I started to sift through. Half my items that still had $100 + price tags on them were rejected. When I asked why HIS response was .... "yeah to be honest I just hate that" In this moment even writing this I am cringing. You don't like it? Is that what they do here. Just buy things that they prefer... or that HE prefers. Its womens clothing, why is he in charge of deciding what a woman would or would not wear. In addition upon arriving home I had two pens, that were clearly gathered from off the counter, markup one of my unsold items that were all gathered and tossed back into my bin, unfolded. I will not be returning here, and will be telling friends and co workers of my experience. read more

i really enjoyed coming here for awhile. lovely young woman always helped me but since she left sometimes in early summer service has plummeted. it's messy, the owner is an atrocious woman with a bad attitude. platos closet can be a pain but at least it works with some sense of functionality. read more

If I could give a 0 star review I would. I brought in new clothes to sell (most with original tags still attached) from their "most loved brands" such as J. Crew, Lululemon, and Nike/Adidas. The store was almost empty and the cashier told me it would take them 10 minutes to assess the clothes. I walked around the store in the meantime and saw many dirty/stained items of clothing for sale. In addition it was hard to find all of their precious "most loved brands" for every Nike shirt there seemed to be 15 Target or Old Navy shirts. After 15 minutes I went back up to the cashier (who was sitting on her phone) who informed me it would take 5 more minutes for my clothing assessment. Later, she informed me the majority of my clothes were "out of style" and "hard to resell" except for one J. Crew dress. The tag said $70 and the dress was in great condition. She offered me $8. When I said I would politely decline she became very rude and said I wouldn't get any more money from it. The service was bad as well as the integrity of the store. Why say you are a high end consignment store when the majority of your bands are not high end. Also when someone is giving you exactly what you ask for why would you insult them by offering them almost nothing for their clothing? read more
