Please take a look at the photos comparing my Adrian Jules suit to another suit in the same price range. Which would you want? PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU VIEW THE PICTURES!!! I really wanted a suit with the fit and finish of Savile Row without having to make multiple trips to London. I was initially very excited to work with Adrian Jules, as they advertise themselves to be Rochester, NY-based bespoke clothiers and "America's best worn secret." When asking around and consulting places like StyleForum I wasn't able to find much information about them, but in reviewing their website and speaking with them on the phone it sounded like they fit the bill. I ended up spending over $4000 on one suit, shirt, and braces, which is twice what I had spent on custom suits previously elsewhere. By far it was the most expensive outfit I had ever considered purchasing. I stretched my budget a bit to make it work, but felt I was going to be given the "true bespoke" experience. I was super excited. When my bespoke suit was ready, I went in and tried it on. There was an initial honeymoon phase where I felt quite content, however that quickly wore off and I started seeing issues that were obvious even to my untrained eye. I have friends who are more knowledgeable than I, and so I started showing this suit around to get some opinions. The reaction was less than positive. I wore my suit out for the first time to show it off to my more knowledgeable friends. When comparing pricing, quality of workmanship, and quality of material with their suits I started to get really upset. It was clear to me at this point that the little things I had started to notice were not the norm for such an expensive outfit. Not only was it painfully obvious that the workmanship on my Adrian Jules suit was completely inferior, I also spoke with a gentlemen that deals in fabric and found out that the material used on my $4000 suit was run of the mill fabric that wholesales for about $50 per yard. He indicated this is the quality of fabric that would be typically used on a much less expensive off the rack suit. He estimated that I overpaid by about $3000 based on the fabric alone, setting aside the poor workmanship. I started to feel sick to my stomach over this. I became embarrassed and beyond angry. Here is my suit, next to one of my friend's suits, which cost roughly the same amount of money. Take a look. For the price, which would you rather have? The gray suit is mine, from Adrian Jules, and the blue belongs to my friend. When I asked about the lack of some of these details I was told... I didn't ask for them! Really? I was supposed to ask them to produce a high quality garment for me, when paying $4000 for it? I told them up front that I was relatively new at this. I have come to find out that I am not the only one who has had problems like this. I feel that my inexperience was taken advantage of. Pictures speak a thousand words. It would be bad enough if it was just a bad fit and poor workmanship. Those are things that could've been addressed by a remake. But to find out that I was sold a cheap fabric at top dollar on top of it... now that's unforgivable. I contacted Adrian Jules multiple times requesting a refund. I provided pictures and descriptions illustrating the issues. I tried to talk to them about the fabric choice. We ended up going back and forth over eight or so emails and half a dozen text messages spanning a three week period before ultimately they allowed me to drop off the suit, and mailed me a check. To be fair to them, I'm quite happy with the shirt, but that isn't what I went to them for. I went for a suit, and as far as that is concerned I feel I paid for a Rolex and received a Timex. Adrian Jules uses the tagline "The best worn secret in America." In Rochester, NY they certainly are no secret. They are known as THE best clothiers in town and rightly so. I have been working with them for a couple years now and their service is above and beyond what you will find elsewhere. What I appreciate the most is that they create the clothes not only for your build, but personality as well. The only limitations on what they can do is your imagination. If you dress in a more classic or conservative manner, the details and quality will set you apart. For the individual that likes to express a louder personality through his wardrobe, you have found the right place. What really sets Adrian Jules apart is the relationship they create with their clients. I personally go to Peter Roberti (the younger of the two). Peter has the utmost attention to detail and has the ability to make you feel like you are his only client. I also appreciate the fact that as my build has changed they have happily adjusted my shirts and suits accordingly. Recently after having some alterations done and trying on the clothes, Peter asked to do further alterations to make sure they looked the very best they possibly could on me...at no charge. Adrian Jules is definitely the place to go. I had a suit made here for my wedding and they did an amazing job. They knew all the options, more swatches to look at than I could ever imagine, several levels of quality available, nothing less than the best though. The gentleman who work there know exactly what they're doing, know you by name when you walk in and really make you feel at home. If you ever need an adjustment, take it back to them and they will happily help you out. Unfortunately I moved to Maryland and I'm struggling to find a decent tailor without venturing into D.C. Before setting foot through the front door of Adrian Jules, I had done a good deal of research regarding the best options for procuring a well made Tuxedo for my wedding. My hope was to have a nice suit which would remain stylish and would give me an incentive to fit into it as the decades roll along. Having always had difficulty in finding well-fitting suits off the rack and wanting something appropriate for the occasion, I decided to invest a lot of effort into my search. Although my local area has a few brick and mortar menswear shops, I had no luck in finding a garment which appeared as though it was well-enough made or would end up fitting superbly. Reading reviews of online made-to-measure companies made the offered rebate toward final tailoring of their garments at a local shop seem like more trouble than it would be worth. So, worried that I would not find a well-fitting suit meant to withstand the test of time, I started looking into brick and mortar made-to-measure shops. A number of online shops touted their laser measurement systems and their well stocked bars which would indulge your fine taste. Reviews of those shops made it apparent that the main thing a customer was being sold was a mediocre product slathered in snake oil. Stopping into other shops, which gave off the aura of offering bespoke garments, made me realize that they were selling the same sort of thing, a fancy measurement service which was more image and mark-up than anything else. At wits end, I was reluctantly talked into trying on a Hugo Boss tuxedo at the mall. The sales clerk insisted it looked stellar on me, even though the trousers made my legs look like tightly stuffed sausages with satin stripes. More frustrated than ever, I finally learned that some shops still existed which would custom make a suit. Some of these shops were in Toronto and one was in Rochester. After some comparison shopping, I called Adrian Jules. I spoke to John on the phone; his confidence and knowledge were palpable. He described the process of building a custom pattern from a series of measurements, the process of building the suit, the fitting procedure, and the company's commitment to quality in that they would work to make sure your suit would last the test of time while being refit to your body. Coincidentally being in Rochester and hearing all of this made me set my course for their store. At the store, it appeared that there was quite a camaraderie between the owners, John, and the customers. Still a bit leery, I let John lead me through the process of figuring out what sort of Tuxedo would be the best for my wedding. He showed me a plethora of fabric swatches ranging from nice wool to some really magnificent materials. He took a great deal of time sharing his recommendations for fabrics, colors, and cuts. Although I had hoped he would have pushed me harder in deciding, he wanted to make sure that the Tuxedo I was buying was what I wanted and something I would be comfortable. After dozens of measurements being taken, I ended up ordering a hand stitched midnight blue mohair tuxedo with black satin peaked lapels, a linen shirt, a pocket square, and a bow tie. After ordering my tuxedo, I learned that many clothiers who advertise their suits as being bespoke are actually made to measure units which are outsourced to Adrian Jules. In fact, it appears that Adrian Jules and another whose name escapes me, are two of the last firms who produce custom clothes for many of fine shops around the world. Although there are still some places in the world where a suit may be entirely constructed in house from measurements made by a tailor, there is a very good chance it is being sent out to Rochester. At Adrian Jules, it was clear that they controlled every aspect of the creation of your suit, and were in fact making you a bespoke garment. It took a few weeks for the suit to be ready for my first fitting, but I drove out as soon as it was. I tried it on, and the quality was unlike anything I had seen before. There were some fit issues on the first fitting which needed to be taken care of (then again, that is the purpose of a fitting) and I realized I wasn't very happy with the cut of the pants as they a featured a bit more taper than I was comfortable with. John assured me he would take care of everything. After a few more fittings, the Tuxedo was perfect. It felt fantastic and looked the same. Personally, I am shocked that there are so few reviews on here and the internet in general for this fantastic shop. If you're looking for a good garment, look elsewhere. As an addendum to my earlier review, Adrian Jules sent me the 40.00 check for my shirt, finally. The fact that it took my own father going in to complain to get it done is really lame but oh well. As I said before, go buy a nice shirt of the rack for 100 bucks or so and have a good tailor adjust it if need be, you will be happier in the end. read more

I began working with Peter Jr. from Adrian Jules in August of 2011. I was a bit nervous because it was my first time dealing with a custom/ bespoke tailor. All I knew of the process is what I read online. I was pleasantly surprised by the service I received and even more impressed with the products. My father worked for this company in 80s....Recently, I decided to get a cashmere pants made with their outstanding line of cashmere cloth. They made the perfect pants--ultimate Ann Demeulemeester style. After the 4th wear, the inside stiching came loose. When I brought it back, Peter Roberti Sr, immediately apologized and showed sincere concern to fix the problem. It was professional customer service at best....
