I'm not a person who does reviews but I absolutely had to give a review because my experience was so horrible. No woman or man should go in an establishment looking to come out feeling beautiful or handsome only to be appalled at the outcome. I'm a professional myself and when someone is servicing me, I'm one to give a tip even if the service is not good. I treat people nice because you never know what people go thru and it makes me cringe when I hear customers demanding things and saying all the things they don't like and never what they do. I went in for an eyebrow threading just because I was passing by on the way out. Im not from the area, I'm a travel nurse and would be flying home in a couple days so I just wanted to get my eyebrows cleaned up for the thanksgiving holidays. I SPECIFICALLY told her that I wanted my eyebrows to be cleaned up and nothing taking off. She said nothing and I repeated myself. She immediately started to thread my eyebrows with no real patience to what she was doing and kept demanding me to pull my eyelids super tight. When she handed me the mirror after she was done, I immediately told her that I did not like her work at all and that she did a horrible job. This is so unlike me, and I stuck to who I am as a person and preceded to pay her the cost of the eyebrow thread but I did not give a tip. Which also is so unlike me. I still remained respectful. She told me she didn't take anything off my eyebrows and she gave me exactly what I wanted. I told her absolutely not!!I left and went to sit in my car to leave. But I looked in the mirror and immediately got out my car to go back because I could not be ok with paying for a service so foul that left me in my eyes deformed. When I arrived back at the studio she was sitting down and I told her "Mam, I'm sorry but I need my refund because I can't pay for something like this" she responded with "we don't do refunds"... I said well can I have your name? She said why do you want my name. I told her because if I can't get my refund then I'm going to have to write a review to prevent women coming here to feel beautiful only to leave feeling insecure because of a horrible job. At this point my soul was on fire but I remained as calm and respectful as I could. I showed her a picture of my eyebrows before I sat in her chair and then compared it to a picture that I took of her horrible job(which I will post). I asked her look at my eyebrows and look at your eyebrows, would you want someone to do the type of work on your eyebrows as you did on mine?! She then obliged and gave me my refund in cash which she shook her head the whole time. I told her I think if her attitude and customer service was better maybe she would have been able to listen to what I requested of her. By this time my boyfriend was on the phone and when I left, I couldn't make it out the store good before I was in tears. I'm 27, a nurse, who loves helping others and understand that we are all flawed and it's not humanely possible to be perfect. But I was so mad and hurt that I received that type of treatment (although i'm used to it with my profession). Long story short God is good, and in addition he made us so wonderfully that we can say things like "it's hair it will grow back". That's the bright side of it all. To the owner who unfortunately did my eyebrows, I hope you do better. You and I can both use this as a learning experience. Although I feel you learned nothing, I learned that it's ok to stick up for yourself while remaining respectful. Please take my review as caution.

The reason for this one? (Oprah voice) THE M.A.C. LIIIIIIIINEEEE. This location has a great selection for their M.A.C. beauty supply, letting you swatch the hell out of their lipsticks (mattes are the best, love the Dubonnet, Brick-O-La, and Paramount). This isn't a review for M.A.C., but if you are flirting with trying it, start here. Their foundation is one of the few that doesn't make my face crack like Michael Jackson's after a long day of teaching. They do have a Benefit Brow Bar, but their Benefit selection is slightly smaller than Henrietta's. That is Henrietta's main star, I prefer the waxing specialists there, but if you need a quick wax between shopping, get it girl (or boy). The consultants are willing to assist you, but are not as pushy in the other locations. I do enjoy all of the cashiers I have dealt with, and they are willing to look things up on your account (points, etc) if needed. I am an Ulta woman vs. Sephora because you can still get prestige brands juxtaposed to drugstore brands, and they have middle of the road stuff for those who are looking to up their pigmentation. I came in not really thinking much, I knew I wanted some color added to my hair, and help with my eyebrows. What I received was top notch service with lots of recommendations, and products I can use at home. I ended up getting color highlights added to my hair, Shelby was awesome and was able to help me out. I was more than satisfied with the finish product. Even though I came in, last minute notice with no appointment, Shelby took her time, and talked me through the whole process. Afterwards, I did end up buying the shampoo, conditioner, and was able to get a full size hair mask product that I am currently in love with. I also was serviced at the brow bar by Asia Razak. She was more than welcoming to fit me into her schedule for that day as well. I was able to get my eye brows tinted a darker shade of brown, and I left with the right shade of Benefit's brow pencil. All in all my trip down to Rochester that day was totally worth my experience here. I do plan on going back and booking an appointment with Asia for my next brow appointment.
