Instead of leaving the remaining $20 on the gift card, they gave me two in store coupons. When I went back for a $20 nail removal, I was told I could only use one coupon, which meant I still had to pay an extra $10 out of pocket. The whole situation felt really misleading and unfair. It honestly seemed set up so you're forced to spend more money just to use what should already be yours. After paying and declining additional services, I was stopped while leaving and repeatedly asked for a tip by the manager. This is harassment. Tips are voluntary. And for the sheep that believe in subsidizing employers that do not pay their workers sufficiently and think tipping is standard, when the tech was pulling my arm, rushed through the job and did not include a hand massage, what am I tipping for? First time at this location cause I wanted powder dip nails. The place is nice and big with many seats and workers available. They are Very attentive, of course I went in middle of the week middle of the day so not sure how they are on the weekend. They immediately asked what I wanted, to pick a color and got started right away. I had Robin who was very nice and directional. The pedicure was perfect, the chairs were comfortable and I like how Robin asked if the water temp was ok. On to the powder dip nails which was my first time and took longer than I expected, but it came out very pretty. It's been two weeks so far and they are still looking perfect. Fastest pedicure I've ever had-- and that's NOT a good thing. I have come here multiple times and the quality of the experience has varied, but this was by far the worst experience. I should have known better, the male techs generally don't do a very good job. The young man who cut my toenails must have been new because they were cut/painted so unevenly that I want to cry. The edges look broken and the polish was all over my toes. I didn't realize how bad it was until I was waiting for them to dry. I'm new to the area and just googled nail salons near me. Beyond Nails & Spa seemed like a good choice despite the mixed reviews. I made an appointment over the phone. They didn't ask for my info, which I found odd. I showed up at 6:30pm(they close at 7:30)for my appointment. I went in to have my dip removed and redone. My nail tech was Hillary. She was kind but quiet. Her attention to detail was great. I showed her a picture of the ghost design I wanted for fall and she did great. I felt bad because i didn't get out until after 8pm, but they were really nice about it and didn't rush me out. They were upfront and fair with prices. I didn't wait at all to be seated. It didn't seem busy around the time I went. The salon looked newly renovated and clean. I'm looking forward to going back and getting a pedi! read more

This was my third to fourth time coming and every time that I have come except once has been the most unprofessional. Absolutely rudest out of control customer service I've ever dealt with in my life. Today I was there with my boyfriend and mother for my birthday. Was there last year for my birthday? Had to leave as I was just getting ready to get a manicure. I already had gotten my pedicure so and my boyfriend and my mother my boyfriend was sitting getting his toes dried. They kept harassing my mom and I asking who was paying for my boyfriend like he was going to just disappear or something like that. Mind you we've been coming here for years. My frugality gets in the way of salon treatments, ask anyone. The first thing to know about Beyond Nails is that if you pay cash, you get coupons to put towards your next visit. And for a $30 pedicure, it's worth it to use the cash. On my last visit, I had a $5 off coupon from a previous visit available to me, resulting in a $25 regular pedicure. Can you beat that on most occasions? I usually can't. It's not just the convenience, the cash, and the sanitary procedures that would keep me coming back, it's that you get an amazing deal and a pleasant experience. I got my nails done here before my wedding and I absolutely loved the experience. I chose a regular pedicure, which always lasts forever, and gel manicure, knowing my tendencies to flake. During the pedicure, my legs were pampered with hot stones, completely included. Normally that's an add on, and here it's part of the regular pedicure. My gels lasted a few months too. This was one of the only times I didn't chip off my nail polish and my wedding nails lasted for a few months ultimately, with natural nail growth being the reason the polish eventually retreated. I made appointments on my recent visits, but things were spaced out enough that you could probably walk in without much incident. When choosing your polish, take note that some of the regular polishes do cost a little extra. Otherwise, the nail salon experience is one that you'd expect from a nail salon, as opposed to a place where things just seem hectic. This was my first time ever getting my nails done and I had an amazing experience! I got the gel nails and showed Aiden a reference picture and he created an even better look and checked in with me throughout the process to make sure I liked the shape, color, etc. It was a very relaxing experience and you get cuticle oil, a scrub, moisturizer, and a hand massage at the end! They also are very covid conscious by having everyone apply hand sanitizer when they first walk in and requiring masks! I have gone to this place regularly since it opened and the quality has gone down over time. The men that work there are WAY too aggressive and often make me bleed when I get a pedicure there. I used to have no problem with this if it's an accident because it does happen sometimes and I get that, but lately it seems like it's every time I go there. I'm not a confrontational customer so I was appalled when I saw the man using a tool meant for nail use to unclog the drain in the pedicure basin. (Which by the way, is a choice, not mandatory?!) and the man who worked there called out loudly in front of everyone shaming me for not leaving a tip. Are you kidding me?! At the risk of sounding like a boomer what is customer service coming to if a tip isn't a choice and I'm FORCED INTO IT regardless of how I feel about the service? Isn't that my feedback? This place is sadly not what it used to be... I have been going to this nail salon for years and never had a problem till recently. The first time I chalked it up to bad luck- They did an awful job painting my toes and I went home and had to redo them. The second time I came in after that they were hurting me while servicing my nails. I asked them nicely to stop because it hurt and was too rough. She ignored me and kept going and said I needed it. Then half way through my appointment she switches with another tech who says he was going to finish them. He then proceeds to put the wrong color on my nails. When confronted about it he lied to me and said that was the correct color and the sample color must have faded. He refused to change the color & said it was too late. I got a dip powder manicure here on Saturday, and the man who did my nails topped it off with gel. Within 2 days my nails started peeling. On Tuesday I went back to get them fixed. After they drilled my nails once and put the correct top coat on, the nails looked awful. They drilled them again, and again put the gel top coat on. When I took them out of the lamp they looked disgusting as if they had dust in them, I brought it to Melinda's attention and she told me to come back tomorrow and get them taken off if I wanted. This is the cleanest nail salon I've been to, not to mention the quality of my fill and pedicure, the man who did my fill was meticulous. Many colors to choose from, there is a vacuum in the middle of the desk that sucks up all the dust and the LED lamps are built into the desks. After the mani they had me dip my hands into wax and gave me a back massage, I thought I was going to fall asleep, very relaxing! They don't accept tips on a card BUT their ATM is free. Whenever I come visit Rochester, I come here and this place never disappoints me! Everyone is super friendly and kind, and their service is 10/10. I always get gel manicure, and as you can see in the picture the work is very clean and nice. Most of the nail salon that I've been to does a poor job of painting the sides of nails, but they perfectly fill the whole nails. I definitely recommend here! I wish I would have read more reviews on this place because I would have know that the customer service was horrible. My fiancé wanted to get a paraffin wax treatment so I searched for a few places and this came up. Per google the rating weren't too low, so I made an appointment. I specifically asked the person I made the appointment with ( Adrian) if they offered paraffin wax. He said yes only for us to get to the appointment and then not to have what I specifically requested asked for. After getting over that ( which was the main reason we went) my fiancé's chair kept breaking down during the pedicure. He then got a manicure and asked for his nails to be buffed only to get a tech who didn't even know how to do what he requested. To cap off the whole terrible experience I was asked after my service was completely paid for by my fiancé to provide a tip. Like where in the handbook of professional business etiquette is this acceptable???Not only did Hannah ask me for the tip, she asked me loudly in front of a whole room full of people. I was the only black customer in the whole establishment and this was truly offensive and in my opinion racist. I will never spend my hard earned dollars at this establishment ever again. Beyond Nails opened recently and is starting out strong for me. I've been twice, the spa pedicure which of course is an upgrade in price is amazing I loved it and my feet were so smooth after. I also had powder done on my finger nails, they have a limited color selection for powder but they do a great job at it and I totally recommend. If you pay in cash they give you a $5 off coupon for next time you come in but here's the best part if you forgot to stop at the bank ATM on the way there they have an ATM in house with NO FEES!!!
