I was so pleased to get an appointment on such short notice-same day. Didn't want to wait DAYS to have an appointment at Del Monte. The salon was newly designed, super clean and the staff greeting me was friendly. My nails were a mess but Kevin kindly and skillfully took care of me! He was great. This place is the best manicure and fill I've ever gotten in Rochester. The place was clean, the man who did my nails was very meticulous and didn't rush at all. It was a little more pricey than other places but well worth it because of the extra steps they took and how long my nails lasted still looking good. read more

My wife and I love Beyond Nail and Spa, we will not go anywhere else. The Spa is very clean and looks brand new. The Nail technicians are very friendly and courtious and do a great job. I honestly wish I could give this place a 0. The employees are so rude and aggressive. I showed the guy how long I wanted my nails and he insisted on cutting them short and when I told him I didn't like the length, he clipped them and told me to leave because he didn't want to redo them. This was my 3rd bad experience here, never again. If you want nails that are not basic and have a little bit of length to them DO NOT go here they will be rude to you. read more

This is the first time I have been to the salon since COVID. This used to be my favorite salon but now...SUPER UNSANITARY!!! I asked my technician if the tools were sanitized and he said yes but I don't believe it. The lady next to him took the tools that were used on my nails and used them on her client. I watched as warm towels were taken off clients hands and placed back in the towel warmer. The stations were not cleaned between clients and the stations were not conducive to social distancing. During a time when cleanliness and safety should be increased, it seems this salon has gone backwards. I will not be returning! read more

While traveling to Rochester regularly for work , I found myself in need of a mani/pedi. I always get this service done at home in Boston so that will be my comparison. I hit Yelp and found TTs who although online states they take walk ins, does not in person. Back to the drawing board and found Beyond Nails just down the street. The place is clean, bright, modern and rather large. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. They have a decent selection of gel mostly from OPI which I generally rotate between that and Essie. The pedicure was spot on however I do wish the hot stone massage was longer. I did upgrade to have the callous remover as work has killed my feet - worth the 18$ upgrade? Not exactly sure as I'm used to having it included at home as well as a full paraffin treatment. The manicure included a paraffin treatment along with an upper back/shoulder/neck rub which I found to be a nice surprise. Overall this place is great - always room for improvement however they are brand new. My nails came out great and I will def return! Keep in mind though- tips are cash only - pretty standard. Also, there is a special that if you pay in cash you get a coupon for next visit. read more

I've been getting acrylic nails for years and usually go somewhere else, but received a gift card for Christmas for this salon. I had a gift card for a full set of gel acrylics and one fill. I was attended to promptly right after walking in the door and was given a few different books of colors. I felt slightly rushed, but no big deal. Normally I converse with the people at the other salon I normally go to, but conversation was non existent. I honesty don't think the man was very fluent in English, so that's probably the reason. He took his time filing and drilling and removing cuticles, etc. It had been a while. I was impressed by how detailed he was, at first. Slightly rougher than I'm used to, not going to lie. The short massage and dipping my hands in hot wax after washing them totally made up for that though. Anyways, when he applied the acrylic on one hand, he motioned for me to put my hand in the little box with purple light (first time getting gel acrylics), and muttered something about burning. Without thinking I stuck my hand in and I felt a little burn at first that quickly really burned and I pulled my hand out and he still didn't say anything. So I kind of learned the hard way how the whole gel thing works. The experience and atmosphere was normal and what I expected, but the nails just didn't last. Not to mention when I got in the car I noticed they weren't all the same length, a couple were crooked and uneven. Two nails fell off in less than two weeks and I have never experienced this ever. I've broken a nail or chipped it, but only the drug store ones you glue on have ever completely fallen off. Usually you have to damn near use a crow bar to get acrylics off. I was pretty upset but figured maybe they used the wrong product or something?Wrong. Second time I went in and explained what happened and instead of compensating and trying to redeem themselves, the same man that did them the first time tried to tell me I needed to pay an extra 15 dollars for the two nails that completely fell off. I explained that they shouldn't have fallen off to begin with. I don't do anything major with my hands. I proceeded to start to leave and he said he would do it for me that one time. The polish was super pretty, but same thing happened. Only 3 days after getting them redone, one of them popped right off when I was closing the car door. Beyond frustrating, considering that even one nail missing just looks stupid. I've heard great reviews, so maybe this was a weird mishap, but even so I won't be returning. read more

This is a very pretty salon, with nice furnishings and atmosphere. There, I said something nice . First, they charge extra for certain gel polish, ok, I guess as long as they are up front about that , it's ok, odd, but ok. What really got me was the pedicure. They have a timer on so that you only get a prescribed time instead of what each customer might need. They also do not do the callous removal with the "grater", that is standard with any basic pedi I've ever had. Too much competition on Monroe Ave for the cheapness and penny pinching here. I did the Spa Pedicure I. My feet were in rough shape to begin with. Now they're as good as new. Someone mentioned that they try to up-sell - she did suggest the spa pedicure I, and i am so glad I went for it. Way different than any spa pedicure I've had in terms of "productiveness". If I could give this nail place a zero I would. The man who did my nails, who ignored me, who was rough, unprofessional, caused me to bleed and wouldn't apologize for cutting me, and to top it off, the paraffin wax that he slapped my hands into got all over the sleeves of my new blouse and on my bracelets. He walked away from me after this and said "go wash it off with hot water". The manager saw this and apologized. He barely spoke english, but realized it was a terrible experience. He didn't charge me for the manicure (which didn't deserve to be called a manicure) and when I said that his worker was negligent, rude and didn't apologize, he seemed to have heard this comment before. I said that he shouldn't be employed, that he is going to cause his business to suffer with such awful behavior. The place is clean enough. The other workers seem competent, but this man who did not tell me his name should be fired. The manager did not say he would pay for dry cleaning of my blouse or to replace it. Clearly, will not go back. Pity as it's in my neighborhood. read more

Beyond opened quite recently, and I'm near 12 Corners, so I was eager to try them out and see whether they could deliver a better buff manicure than the last place I went to. So many salons cater only to customers who want nail polish, the art of buff manicures is foreign to many of them, and what you wind up with is a polish-style manicure without the polish. Blech. I was pleased to find when I phoned that Beyond knew exactly what I meant, so in a few minutes I was walking into their spacious, airy salon. I'll start by mentioning that the salon was comfortable although the temperature on the 12 Corners thermometer showed 94 degrees. The space is also very clean, modern, and comfortable. The experience was more pampering than I'm used to, including a paraffin treatment and a little shoulder massage while the paraffin was working. My nail technician was a bit shy, not having very good English (yet) --I think all the employees come from China. But he did the essential things right: he asked several questions to make sure he understood what I wanted, and he gave me a chance to review the nail shape on the first nail before proceeding with the others. And he gave me a nice buff manicure. It was not the mirror-glass buff of my dreams, but it had an even gloss, with my rather difficult nail ridges mostly smoothed away. My very neglected hands felt soft and civilized. He also gave me a four-sided buffer to take home for touch-up between visits. There was a moment of awkwardness when he asked whether I could pay after the preliminary shaping and paraffin treatment, before the buffing; I wasn't prepared for this unusual request. I am sure the staff will get these wrinkles ironed out as they continue in business. I was very happy with my experience and will be back. This capable new salon deserves success. read more
