My tenant was locked out of the apartment so I placed a call to Liberty Lock and Security. They were able to schedule for the same day. Within 4 hours Darryl Castle arrived. He was courteous and experienced. The night before I had another company come out and after 4.5 hrs could not open the lock. Darryl opened and changed the lock in 1.5 hours! His experience is an asset to the company! The price was worth the wait until today! Competitive pricing. read more

I've been here twice and was super impressed with their customer service and prices; The first time was to copy a non-standard size key for my storm door that none of the regular stores could do - she used a cabinet door key and assured me I could return them if they didn't work right (they worked perfectly). The second time was to copy a completely non-electric key for a 20-year old car (another place had wanted $50, then $35 each?!!), they did it for $9 each and he even tested the keys himself before I paid. read more

I needed to get into a home safe that I lost the keys to. The staff here is very knowledgeable and helpful. They researched ways I could replace my keys and quoted me options and prices. When I decided to circumvent those options and tried to forcibly open it on my own and failed, I shamedfacedly took it into their showroom. Kate is very personable and considerate and did not judge or shame me for my foolishness. She was very supportive. Daniel, whom she was training was very friendly and enthusiastic about the things he was learning. They kindly and professionally opened the safe for me. The charge for this sevice was VERY reasonable. I would highly recommend Liberty Lock and Security if you know what you want and need, and especially if you DON'T know and need honest, pertinent information. read more

Great customer service. Made copies of key Home Depot and Lowe's could not. Very educational experience about locks in general too.

Overall a great experience. Service is professional, fast, and fairly priced. Called and spoke to Sarah and she was very helpful and patient while guiding me throughout the whole process! read more

I called them earlier today and they were able to come out within hours (there was no emergency). The tech called me when he was on the way and was promptly on time. He was friendly and helped me to make the best decision that fit my needs. I had just purchased this home and the deadbolt and plate were off. He was able to fix it quickly and it was better than before. The tech was friendly, professional, and neat in appearance. I liked that he had all the necessary tools on hand and had his license card visible. (I forgot his name, but he did a great job today). I will definitely be calling them in the near future for assistance with other locks in the home. read more

gave me a key that did not work for my truck and than when I called them to inform them. they told me they could not do anything and would give me another number for another locksmith to come out and help me read more

I made the decision I wanted a high quality safe, did LOTS of research, and came to the conclusion an American Security (AMSEC) was the best choice. I contacted multiple safe sellers to get quotes. Kevin Plummer from Liberty was willing to make a site visit (before I even decided who to buy from) to make sure it was possible to deliver and install the safe where I wanted. I decided I needed this level of customer service through the whole process. The fact they offered me the best price was just a bonus. I gave him the specs for the BFII I wanted and they placed the order. Kevin kept me up to date during the 8 week wait while AMSEC built my safe. Eight weeks later, a crew of 4 moved my new safe a substantial distance through my very uneven yard to get it into my walk out basement. read more

I feel that customer service with this company is lacking. I called at 8:30 am to schedule an appointment for a locksmith to unlock my door and was give the window of 10 - 12 pm. 1 pm rolls around and the locksmith still hasn't shown up. I called their office and was informed that I was "next" on the list and that the window of time is only an estimate. I informed the lady i spoke to on the phone that I understand things come up and the locksmith may tend to encounter additional problems at the previous job site, however, a courtesy call would have been nice and helpful to manage customers' expectations. read more

We had a difficult to copy key and Liberty copied it accurately, quickly and at a reasonable price. The service was very friendly and efficient. Highly recommend. read more

This is a short review, but had I known about their key copying abilities from Yelp beforehand, this would have saved me a ton of time, so: go to Liberty Lock to copy your keys! Other stores have limited key inventory, and will direct you here anyway! After spending the better part of an afternoon going from hardware store (Home Depot) to hardware store (Sears) to copy a key and failing, Liberty Lock was FINALLY able to copy my apparently very old/out of style key in about 2 minutes while being incredibly friendly, despite the store being packed during closing time. Unlike what I've read about other DMV locksmiths, I didn't have to go back to get the key fixed, as it was perfect and fit in my door when it was copied! Go here and save yourself the time and stress! read more

I came here because I was running an errand for my mom. We had gone to Home Depot to copy our house keys, but with error as usual. Finally, we decided to try a real locksmith. My friend and I were greeted promptly by Joe, who was more than happy to help us with our keys. We had wonderful small talk and he gave me a discount on each key since we were buying so many! On top of that, he gave me one free key because of a promotion they had going on their website! It was more than what we'd usually pay, but it was worth it. All our keys work! Big shoutout to Joe! read more

There is no such thing as a cheap locksmith but Liberty Locks is honest, helpful and very reasonable. After using the cheap locks at Home Depot that kept on wearing out after a year because the lock was exposed to rain, I went to Liberty Locks and they got me the lock I needed and never had another issue. I have been back there several times for my extra keys and they even got me back in my car after I locked the keys in it. These guys are super nice, reasonable priced and trustworthy. read more

Not recommend this place. It is not only extremely expensive than other providers but mislead and playwith consumers.

I tried 4 locksmiths trying to get car keys made. Finally a lady at Rockville Key suggested Liberty Lock. Paul at Liberty had my keys made in under 5 minutes and they worked great! Highly recommend this business. Great service and great people. read more

Not recommended to any customers. It has hidden charge and will rip customer off. The locksmith service is mostly in urgent needs. The company takes advantage of customer needs and charge extremely high fees. read more

I highly recommend Liberty Lock. Michael came to install a sleek Samsung digital lock for me today and the whole process went like a breeze. On-line, there are lots of complains about how hard it is to get this particular lock installed and I called 7 locksmiths around DC all said no they cannot install the lock. Finally Paul at Pop-a-lock and Michelle at Rockville Lock and Safe took the time to look at the lock and kindly referred me to Liberty. I spoke to Daniel on the phone initially about the lock, he asked me to send him pictures of my current lock, details on the new lock and said if anyone can do it it would be Liberty. He was right! I am so very happy with the installation, both Michael and Daniel are most professional and very kind. I will for sure hire them again in the future and highly recommend Liberty. read more

This place is awesome. Every time I need speciality keys copied, I come here. I got tired of wasting time going to Home Depot just for them to tell me my keys can't be copied there. One thing Home Depot did though, was referred me to Liberty. They were able to copy my apartment and work office door key literally within a matter of seconds. Very fast service with friendly faces. They sell some diesel looking safes too. If I were in the business or need to purchase one, I would buy it her. Along with the safes, they have various sports lanyards and other key accessories. Pretty cool. read more

Great place and great service! They not only know how to work with cars but give great advice and are honest. They don't try to rip you off and make sure your keys work well. You should definitely go here. Must better service than trying to get keys made at Lowe's or Home Depot. It's worth the overhead cost. read more

I've been to Liberty Lock & Security five times over the last five years. Their staff provides exemplary customer service and expertise in their craft. I've had car keys made from just a glance at a deformed key, Ford chipped keys programmed, and a bunch of other household locksmith needs taken care of well by the folks at Liberty. Furthermore, I consider their pricing to provide a good value. read more

Been using liberty for over 20 years as the owner of Preferred Automotive. We appreciate their services.

These guys are great! I would highly recommend Liberty to any of my customers and friends. AAA+++ rating

Went to get some keys copied - I was greeted immediately, got my keys copied and was out in two minutes! Highly recommend!

Our home is 90 years old with gorgeous original wooden doors. Unfortunately, it also had the original outdated locks, which were not at all secure or effective. Although we were quite concerned about damaging the architectural character of the house, we hired Liberty to install new deadbolt locks. Darryl was great to work with. He called in advance to confirm times, located very high quality antiqued hardware that perfectly matches the original hardware, and installed them so they look nearly original. The locks work beautifully. I highly recommend this company. read more

I wasn't psyched to drive all the way over here, but once I got there, I realized these guys were great. I had a specialty key I needed copied that no one else seemed to be able to do (Lowes/Home Depot/local hardware stores). These guys had the equipment and made 2 great copies - The service was friendly and fast. I could tell the guy really knew his stuff too - he pointed out some things immediately that I found out after a few hours of internet searching. Bottom line - I recommend them highly! read more

It pays to make a few phone calls.... We had to get two doors re-keyed. I was quoted prices from nearly $900.00 to less than $300.00. Liberty was polite and on time and did the work exactly as quoted. Michael our locksmith was great, I will continue to use Liberty for all my and my company's locksmith needs. read more

After unsuccessfully trying a couple other places, I was referred to Liberty Lock without hesitation by another business in the area. Having now used their services, I'm glad to do the same online as they were really helpful. In addition to be able to solve problems, good customer service goes a long way. They really impressed me and frankly made my day! Give them a call and they'll listen to come up with solutions. I'm happy to have met them and recommend them! read more

I just bought a house and needed a crash course in deadbolts and door locks. The guys at Liberty were great -- extremely knowledgeable and very helpful. There was no hard sell. I wound up doing some work on my own to save some bucks, but I also went back to liberty for some of the trickier work. They had it done in the same day, and for a premium-yet-fair price. Highly recommend. read more

We have used Liberty twice for rekeying and they have always been prompt and reliable. I had some questions about a safe and Kevin walked me through it over the phone. He was incredibly helpful and generous with his time. They easily could have come out and charged me hundreds of dollars for the service they provided. We will use them every time. We strongly recommend! read more
