He finished the installation within one hour, checked the keys (decided to stick to my old keys) to ensure they worked with the new locks, and cleaned up. Thus, he did a great job. I needed a new keyed security bolt lock on a metal door. My request for an estimate received an immediate response and I found it fair and reasonable. David was able to come out within an hour of my request. After locking myself out of my house, I called them for emergency service. They promised a 30-minute arrival but took over 2 hours to show up. When the technician finally arrived, he was rude, unprofessional, and gave me an inflated quote (almost 3x the original phone estimate!). Worse, the locksmith damaged my door while trying to pick the lock and then insisted it was "normal." I ended up paying way too much for shoddy work and now have to repair my door frame. Avoid this company at all costs-dishonest pricing, terrible customer service, and unskilled work. I'll never call them again and suggest others look elsewhere. read more

My last review for David Locksmith was 5 years ago. It was 5 star service then and 5 star service now. David Locksmith does excellent work! We've used David 3 times at 2 houses. The 1st time was to rekey our mailbox. At our next house, David replaced all the locks (6 doors) after our purchase. Most recently, David came out late night for an emergency - our 4 year old daughter had locked herself in the bathroom! Phone calls are answered quickly and professionally by Lita. Asked David to help fix a broken key in a Thule cargo carrier. He successfully removed it and helped fix our front door knob assembly for a very nominal amount extra. He provides good advice and reiterated calling the cargo box manufacturer for replacement keys. Came even a bit early on our agreed upon time. Great experience. read more

David was terrific! He replaced a complex, multi-point locking mechanism that had failed at my house, rendering our main exterior door unusable. The mechanism that had been installed by the builder was very secure, but it was therefore also difficult to remove and replace, and it had to be dismantled before the exact model and measurements could be known for sake of ordering the replacement (it was not a widely used or stocked part). David made multiple visits to the house (assessment, parts order, installation), reassembled things to ensure the door could be secured while parts were on order, and was always prompt and reliable in his follow-up. He was attentive to cost considerations and working within my budget (given the complexity of the job). He was a true professional. I highly recommend and will absolutely call David again when needing help with any lock. read more

David and Lita are amazing! I didn't get an immediate response when I sent my email but Lita called me the next day to apologize for the delay. I was out and about so she emailed me and texted to let me know David's availability. I really appreciated it that. She said all I needed to do was take pictures of my door locks where the key is inserted send them over and in less than 30 min she gave us a reasonable and fair quote. David was at my home the next morning and it took him about 30-40 min. He even spent time with me to explain how my door locks were unpickable and to carry a spare (apparently the locking system installed by our builder is higher end and a locksmith would need a drill if you lose the key, which I had no idea) He even showed me how the best way to lock and unlock my doors to keep them lasting longer. When he left he noticed my garage was still open and called to let me know. Very sweet. Thank you so much for the quick turnaround and service! Lita quickly responded to my messages with more information than any other vendor I spoke with (about 5). Communication and scheduling were excellent with Lita and David. We had 9 locks across several doors, some new and some antique, a mix of schlage and quikset. We wanted all locks to use the same key, and to introduce a keypad lock onto one of the doors. David was careful not to make any promises due to the antique locks, but was able to get all locks working with a single key like we were hoping. The locks function smoother than they used to, and are well aligned with the frame. David made sure my wife and I were happy with the work, and understood the keypad functionality, prior to leaving. David was excellent with Covid-19 precautions, performed the work very quickly, and made an unexpected recommendation to swap two door knobs after noticing that a seldom used door had a much nicer knob than a door we use often. When we bought our house we wanted all our locks re-keyed, but the sellers had lost some of the original keys. Other companies told us that if we did not have the original keys, then rather than re-keying they would need to completely replace those locks (which would cost more). However, David never pushed that. Instead, he was able to make new keys that matched the existing locks that only needed to be re-keyed. read more
