I had accidentally asked for a quote from a handful of locksmith using Yelp's Request Quote button, thinking I was requesting from one business (they didn't have messaging available). They were the only one to give a solid quote after asking for more information. To be fair, two other businesses gave general prices, and one other actually asked for more information as well. But most companies wouldn't even give a ballpark quote without an in-person visit. I don't want to waste anyone's time sending people back so I can shop around, nor do I want to feel pressured to accept on the spot, and this was honestly the reason I went with David Locksmith. No games or uncertainty, just an honest quote. We were not in a hurry and wanted some time to do research, and Lita was helpful and understanding. David was no-nonsense and straight to the point, assessing the situation and updating the quote slightly in a very fair way (e.g. two-sided key locks = two rekeying, not one). Overall price was agreeable given current industry standards. Ended up asking David to fix a more complicated issue which he explained and fixed after quite a bit of troubleshooting and double checking. I had an emergency situation that required my locks to be changed immediately. Lita contacted me and noticed I was scared because a previous maintenance person entered my home using an electronic code on a lock that he installed. Lita kept checking in on me and scheduled for David to arrive quickly to change the lock. David arrived within 15 minutes and installed a new dead bolt. David and his wife Lita, are a great team. He's a really nice person to work with - he rekeyed our new house (all the doors) a couple of years ago. We also called on him last summer to fix the bolt or lock on our front screen door. As best as I can describe, the bolt mechanism somehow became affected by the change in temperature or weather and we had problems opening the door and getting out the door. He came right over and masterfully fixed it. Another time was when the latch on our sliding deck door wouldn't lock (it was broken). We contacted him again, but this time he was out of town. Lita was wonderful. She communicated with us and even reached out to a colleague of David's to see if they could fix it, but they weren't experienced with deck locks. Lita was very responsive and caring. She called us back and suggested a temporary fix to our door (which we did and it worked) and said as soon as David gets back; as soon as he lands she said (which was a few days), he'll come right over and repair the door. I'm glad we waited! As such, David came right over and fixed our door. We highly recommend David Locksmith. Another COVID-19 review. My front door lock broke making it extremely difficult to open my front door and leave my house. I called, spoke to a very helpful woman (his wife), sent her a few pictures and she gave me estimates (to repair or replace) within minutes. David was able to come out within the hour and replace my door locks and fix an underlying issue. He took all the necessary COVID precautions and explained exactly what caused the problem in the first place. Mr. David took my call after we purchased a home and I was referred to him. The referrer uses him a lot and this allowed me to get a great price that dis not include labor or a service call as the referrer brings him a lot of business. He asked me to text him a our information and Lita scheduled us promptly. He arrived as scheduled. We have several locks rekeyed, a new replacement lock, and 3 picked locks rekeyed. He said it would take about 2 hours, but he was here for 3. He definitely put quality over a rush job. He has a small workshop in his truck. He takes credit card and I gave him some gratuity. Called today do to all the awesome reviews I spoke with a lady on the phone at about 12:30 to get someone to come out to help me get into my car. She said He was out In Gaithersburg working on a car and that he should be able to get to me in about an hour. So I give it an hour & half and call back she said "oh David hasn't contacted you yet?"
