You'd think he'd have many many more reviews by now, he's been in business for over 20 years, and he's busy all day from the time I was there (why aren't all these costumers leaving reviews?!) I did end up paying more, but it's because I was cheap and went to him with an Amazon fob. He tried for over 30 minutes to fix this fob... he said he had to help another customer and I also had to leave for a little, and he was willing to stay after business hours for me to come back and try again. He ended up determining it was the fob, so he switched out my fob with his fob, which he was able to easily program and it worked perfectly. So props to George. My Miata thanks you. Keep up the good work and your amazing work for the community.

I walked 10 minutes and found this key kiosk in the parking lot of Shoppers. The owner was able to copy my keys perfectly. This is also includes a particular DC mailbox key. I live in the Brookland/Pleasant Hills area by Catholic University. It was worthwhile to go to this key kiosk. I got what I needed. Finally! Their hours are Mon-Fri 11am-3pm. Sat & Sun closed. *Cash only They appear to do locks as well.

Absolutely the worst customer service experience I have ever seen. The locksmith (John Negev) told…read moreme he would be there in 30 minutes. He showed up over 45 minutes later than the time he should have been there, and did not return any of my calls in between that time. By the time he got here I demanded an apology but he laughed and blamed the traffic. I told him how unprofessional he was and that I was going to file a complaint because of his lack of communication. He instantly got defensive and changed to an aggressive tone. He proceeded to verbally attack me and said, "Oh you want to file a complaint? Then I'll leave you right now." I had no choice but to apologize for his wrong doings because I was in a hurry and needed to meet with a client.

I can understand why this company has many positive reviews, and I am glad others had good…read moreexperiences. Unfortunately, mine was not one of them. I hired them to install a doorbell. Instead of being upfront that this was not within their expertise, they attempted the project anyway. Throughout the process, they repeatedly asked me if I was sure and insisted their way was the only option. In hindsight, it felt less like concern and more like a way to protect themselves so they could later say I gave permission. As a client, I am not the expert, which is why I hired a professional. That approach came across as intimidation rather than guidance. When it became clear the project could not be completed, I was still charged the full price. When I raised my concern, the response was dismissive and delivered in a raised tone of voice. As a young woman alone in that situation, I felt intimidated and taken advantage of. They knew the job had not been completed successfully, yet I was still required to pay in full, which made the experience feel unfair and exploitative. Afterward, I learned the wiring issue could have been solved in a very simple way. Instead, I was left with unnecessary damage, had to clean up the entire mess by myself, and now face additional costs to repair what was left behind. Cleaning up on my own not only made the sting of the experience worse but also felt degrading. I am glad this company may work well for smaller, straightforward projects. However, if your request requires anything more complex, be cautious. Even if the work is not successful, you will still be charged in full. I was hesitant to write this review out of fear of retaliation, but I felt it was important to share my experience in case it helps someone else.

My first review was truthful, but becuase a lot of the blame was mine for not being diligent in reviewing costs before agreeing to the work, I can only blame myself. My review did not reflect that as well as I wanted it to show. That said, after speaking with the technician, they are reducing some of the installation cost and replacing the deadbolt with a thinner profile at no extra charge. I should have called them first, instead of venting online. Thus the reason I don't like the ability to write quick reviews. I would definitely reccomend this company to you for your locksmith needs. Just be sure to confirm the cost before agreeing to the work so that you are not surprised. Again, the technician was professional, kind, and easy to work with. His work was done well and we are happy with the functionality and quality of the locks. I really appreciated the fact that he took time to listen to my concerns and offer good advice without trying to upsale me to more expensive locks than I needed. Again, after calling them and talking through my frustrations at the total cost, they showed kindness and concern when they could have blown me off and not cared. A high quality locksmith with quality products is not cheap, but in the long run will be worth the cost. I will definitely be calling them back for any future locksmith needs.
